"Alright...deep breaths...deep...breaths..."
For all the calmness in her voice, Naiyu's body shivered with each breath, her shoulders hammering into her small frame as she tried desperately to calm down.
But how could she? A Champion! She could finally summon a Champion!!
Or at least, she'd completed the theory behind it. The only part left was to actually follow through and do the thing. She'd prepared everything before hand, even emergency medical supplies in case she messed the whole thing up and ended up hurting herself. And she fully expected herself to.
Brushing her fingers together, Naiyu closed her eyes and focused with all her might. Soft, tingling wisps of aura swirled through her palms, building and colliding into what was commonly recognized as the Summoner's Orb. She had to bite her lip to stop from laughing in delight.
"Focus...V...Visualize..." Now was the time to pick a Champion to summon. There were many to pick from in the book, far too many to memorize by heart in a glance. Searching her memory, she drew up one that caught her eye. Brown fur, a long, red staff, slender but built, playful but powerful...The Monkey King, Wukong.
There would be a soft light at first that started out small, then grew and shaped into the outline of the summoned Champion. As the glow died down, Wukong would be standing there with his hand clutched over his left shoulder, bloodied, and showing signs of a bullet wound that had entered from the back, and tore out the front.
He'd look down at Naiyu and smiled cheekily, before slowly kneeling with a wince in front of her, "Ahaha.. Thanks, Summoner! Now, would you mind fetching me a doctor?" The monkey asked with a jovial air about him. Despite his injury, he was still quite chipper!

Once the initial shock of Naiyu actually having succeeded and not failing miserably subsided, her expression quickly turned to one of panic. He's hurt. Did she really mess up after all? Did she overlook something in her eagerness to summon? If this was her fault...
Frantic golden orbs searched the injured Champion over, bolting to his side quickly. ".....A-Ah!!" Her hands and eyes found the area where he was most injured - a bullet wound - and hastily got to work. Soothing green aura wrapped it's way around the Monkey King, slowly but surely relieving him of pain and working to mend his wound. Small breaths escaped Naiyu as she focused hard, trying not to mentally curse herself for not being more careful.
"P...Please h-hold still for a while...I-I don't know if S-Summoning in our rooms is allowed...b-but I can heal you so..." Small tears prickled the corners of her eyes, "I-I'm so sorry...I-I'm sorry...th-this is..."
Wukong's eyebrows lifted with the panic from the Summoner. He'd chuckle softly in response with his typical demeanor remaining in tact. The primate tilted his head when Naiyu began to heal him causing his smile to only broaden.
"Heh, thanks! What's your name, Summoner?" Questioned the Monkey King as he watched her knit his wounds shut with a curious gaze. It always fascinated him what humans were capable of, especially Summoners! They held such great power at times. It was both exciting and a little scary.
"You got me out of a sticky situation." He admits, "Those bullets hurt a lot more outside of the Fields of Justice! And Caitlyn's aim is spot on! I'm glad she didn't hit my heart!" He chuckled at his situation, not seeming worried about having to eventually deal with the consequences. He was, in truth, more interested in the details of the event rather then the outcome.
Her golden eyes caught his gaze briefly, causing his brow to furrow with surprise. He'd met a lot of Summoners, but few had golden orbs, so it was a rare treat to see such a thing.

Naiyu's eyes fluttered lightly, glancing up at the Champion before answering with a small smile."N...Naiyu...N-Naiyu Persici Lu...a-and you're welcome...I-I'm glad I called you when I did, t-then..." She whispered softly, heaving a little sigh of relief with it. So his injuries were from before she even summoned him...it was both good and bad, in a way. Good that she didn't cause it, bad that it happened at all. Just what was he doing to get shot at by Miss Caitlyn, in the first place?...
A timid smile spread over her lips as she listened to him talk. For a recovering monkey he sure had a lot of energy, Champion or no. "I-It's good she didn't hit anywhere...vital...you...seemed to have bled quite a bit..." Naiyu mumbled out, smoothing her fingers over the area under his fur where the wound was now healed up. She was no beauty expert, but she was proud of how well she could fix up torn skin. Thought, with Wukong, the fur did most of that for her...
She caught sight of Wukong looking into her eyes, her cheeks flaring a light red as she looked down slightly. "...Are...are they...creepy?...m-my eyes...?"
Wukong was more intrigued by the Summoner then the injury that was being mended. Though clearly he was thankful for her help! He'd offer her a cheerful smile, patting down his leathery armor before digging his hand into a pouch. With a cheeky grin, a peach was produced and extended out to Naiyu, "As thanks for the help!" He offered.
When he felt her fingers gently running beneath his fur, across the injury, he looked down. It was odd for a human to do such a thing to him. It was however, a reminder of the other monkeys he had known in the Plague Jungles, who groomed each other daily. He caught himself leaning into it a bit, pulling back with an awkward laugh.
At her question, Wukong's brows furrowed. "Why would they be creepy?" He asked, his own striking green eyes locking upon her golden orbs with interest, "They're neat!" He admits.

As the Champion held out the offering, Naiyu gingerly spread her palm under it, taking the peach with a slightly surprised look on her face. "Oh...t-thank you...you don't...have to..." She stumbled out. He was definitely a nice soul, maybe she was right to summon him as her first time...
Noticing the Monkey King pull away from her touch, she also laughed a little awkwardly, moving both her hands to clutch the fresh peach instead. "S-Sorry, I-I shouldn't t-touch you without asking, should I?...s-sorry..." She whispered, her lips pushed together in a small pout at herself for not respecting his space. Learning experience, maybe?...
His last words, however, caught her completely off guard. Nearly instantly Naiyu looked back at Wukong, an utterly shocked look on her face. "W...What?...y...y-you think so?..."
Her gaze locked with his and for a moment she remained silent. Slowly her golden eyes softened, a deep red coating her cheeks again as a warm smile filled her expression. "...th-thank you...I-I like your...e-eyes too..."
Wukong chuckled with a calming air, "Sure! I grew it myself!" He announced proudly. It was clear he was very happy she accepted the peach, letting those curious eyes settle on her's yet again. His smile only growing.
When she pulled back in response to him, he'd laugh, "It reminds me of home is all!" He admits, "We monkeys are very picky about grooming. Now I just jump into the river and swim around a bit to keep clean. Master Yi says I should take a shower, but I prefer fresh water." He had no shame in spouting about his bathing habits.
Again, a big smile spread across his lips as she looked at him with shock, "I don't see humans with golden eyes very often. Maybe it's something special!" He scratched his chin, toying with the small patch of fur hanging from the bottom of his chin, "You don't think so?" He asked, tilting his head slightly to the left. When she would compliment his eyes, he'd wave his hand towards her, looking mildly sheepish, "D'aww they're not that nice." Chuckling. However he'd stop when her cheeks turned red again, causing him to lean in a bit.

Naiyu listened tentatively, her eyes drifting about slightly as she toyed with the peach between her fingers. So he wasn't offended? He was a lot different from her mother, that was certain. Maybe she could...relax, a bit, around this Monkey King.
He talked about his bathing, and complimented her eyes, and her smile grew with the heat in her face. Talking with him was...refreshing. Others simply left her be, or stared at her with slight disgust or worry. Not him. It was nice...having someone talk casually to her. It made her heart feel lighter, somehow.
From the corners of her eyes, she was him lean closer, and her eyes fixed on his. A small noise came from her parted lips, and her cheeks grew redder still. "W...What's wrong?..." she questioned, her eyes fluttering slightly. She wasn't used to someone being so...close. "...d-did I say s-something?..."
When he noticed her cheeks going more red, he'd helplessly laugh a bit, "Why do your cheeks keep turning red?" He somewhat understood that humans blushed a lot, but she REALLY blushed a lot and it was somewhat unusual to the monkey.
He'd sit back a bit with his head tilting to the side, before getting up hurriedly and stretching, rotating his shoulder and the like. "You did a good job!" He compliments, hopping onto her bed and bouncing around a bit before dropping back to the ground with a bit of a 'thump'. His staff on the other hand, would lean back and bend a small part of its top forward like a person relaxing against something. It'd look from Naiyu, to Wukong, then go back to idling.
"Hehe." Wukong extended his hand towards her, "Want to go climbing?" Glancing out the window, "There's some huge trees around the Institute of War! Even a big Peach Tree! It'd be fun! We could race to the top!"

The poor girl couldn't help the silly slur of speech falling out of her mouth as the Champion questioned her on her odd frequent blushing. "I-It's...w-well...I-I just c-can't...s-stop it, i-it's because you..." She tripped over herself trying to explain. Why was she blushing so much, really? He was just being friendly...but no one had really been that friendly to her before..."....I...g-get...e-embarrassed...e-easily?...I-I guess..."she offered meekly, her voice a small songbird chirp.
The Monkey King rolled and bounded around her room, prancing on her bed and making quite a racket. It was funny watching him move, little whirls of chocolate fur gliding around her vision. It brought a smile to her face, even if she had to fix everything after. She noticed the staff, and her eyes went just a little wide, staring at the almost alive weapon. "...a-amazing...!" Everything about him seemed so magical...this was what a Champion was like...no wonder they called for so much respect and awe...
At his offer to go climbing, she stared at his hand. Her eyes glossed over. "...O-out...side?..." She mumbled, thinking a while. Truthfully...she'd not been outside in a long time now. Content to be shut up in her room, reading and singing to herself. Though she had been running low on supplies for experiments...and he did make it seem like a good idea...
"...A-Alright..." she said with a little smile, reaching out to take his hand, but stopping mid-way. Naiyu's eyes looked herself over, frowning at the stuffy purple robes about her. Giving Wukong a lightly sheepish giggle, she backed up a bit, moving to a nearby closet. "...Not in these...robes...s-something lighter, maybe?..." Her hands pulled the old thing open, and she glanced back towards the Monkey King, her hand waving in his direction as her face reverted to dark red for a bit. "...T...t-turn around...n-no peeking...alright?..."
Wukong couldn't help himself as he jumped about with that jovial air, "Embarrassed?" He questioned with a grin, "Why are you embarrassed? Did I make your cheeks that color?" He was somewhat clueless. Though to be fair, he found it silly to find much of anything embarrassing. Unless.. y'know it was something -private- like.. well there wasn't much he found private, either.
The staff seemed to look at her again, and bowed its upper portion as if acknowledging her words with a humbled bow. Wukong would smirk as he extended his hand out, causing the staff to spin towards it before it'd be caught in his grip, "I think it likes you!" He chuckled, "Nobody can lift it except me. I alone wield this staff. The MONKEY KING!" Stamping his foot down with the staff and posing boldly in front of her. He'd hunch over and bounce around a bit more, before coming to a stop in front of her again.
When she told him to turn around, he gave her a mildly confused look before turning - a full 360. "Will it make you change faster?" He asked curiously, before doing it again to see if it might work.

Keeping herself facing the closet as she removed her overcoat, she answered the Monkey King lightly, "W-Well...I'm not...u-used...to people being...close to me...a-and you're nice to me...s-so it's a little e-embarrassing...s-so yes...you made my...cheeks turn that color..."
Her undercoat followed, slipping off her shoulders as she continued, "...A staff that...only you can use?...it must be a rare treasure...i-it's very nice...almost...c-cute...hehehe..." With the sound of Wukong's turning, she blinked a few times, turning her head to look over her shoulder as her robes caught on her waist, a rush of blood covering her face and a shrill squeal leaving her mouth.
"D-D-D-D-Don't keep looking!!! T-T-Turn a-away!! I-I mean w-with your b-back to me!!!" She bumbled out, instinctively clutching her robes to her chest, even though nothing was visibly showing to the Monkey King. She gave him a contemplative look, her eyes smoldering a soft sunset color as she stared. "...Y-you...d-don't know m-much about...p-privacy and...things...d-do you..."
As she asked the question to him, if he looked any to her exposed back, he'd notice deep, slightly ripped slashes across her otherwise spotless porcelain skin. Bruises and light burns marred it as well, giving her back a near battle-worn appearance. If she remembered it was showing, she didn't show it, as she made no effort to hide it from Wukong.
"Oh." Wukong made an 'o' face before straightening, and scratching his noggin lightly, "Eh-heh-heh.. Why aren't you use to people being so close?" It begged to be asked. Isolation was Yi's thing, not Wukongs. He loved meeting people! And fighting! And... mischief. Though he'd never admit to the latter.
His green eyes lingered on her back as the robes started to fall from her shoulders, tilting his head slightly to one side. "Indeed!" He said cheerfully, "Crafted for me alone!"
And then - the scream. Wukong's fur puffed out and his tail straightened at the shriek from Naiyu, forcing him to stagger about and flail wildly he tried to run one way, then turn the other, before spinning around to face his back towards her. 'Humans! So unpredictable!' he thought to himself, rubbing the back of his neck with his own cheeks suddenly becoming red.
"Privacy?" He questioned, slowly glancing over his shoulder. He might have made a comment on it, until he saw the scars, bruises and burns on her back. His brow tightened upward with a worried look, before slowly returning his focus away from her.
"Naiyu.." His voice calm, with a slight air of seriousness that would contradict the playful nature of the monkey Naiyu met earlier, "Who did that to you?"

"Huh?......o-oh.........."
It only took her a little while to realize what he meant. A tight frown pulled at her lips and her eyes glazed over, unfocused. It had been a long time since she looked at her own back, not daring to see the damage lest she burst into tears. Looking over at Wukong, she thought for a while in silence, before deciding it was alright, to tell this seemingly kind person.
"...my mother..."
The words made her throat clench, and she unconsciously let out a small whine. She hadn't seen the spiteful woman in so long, and yet even saying her title was still painful for her. "...she was...v-very...strict..." Naiyu breathed in a light voice, continuing to change. "...that's why...I am...t-the way I am..."
With each word her voice faded more, till it was just a soft whisper as she finished dressing. She turned back, facing the Monkey King now, her head hanging a little low as she stared towards the floor. "......"
