Zyra looked around her in wonder as she walked through the forests of the Institute. "There's a forest this large this close to the Institute? Interesting...," she muttered under her breath. "My little ones would appreciate a place like this to take root."
Zyra noticed a blackened patch of grass at her feet. Looking down, she saw that the ground had been burned thoroughly, though seemingly not recent as there were new plants starting to grow. Zyra looked around and found herself in the middle of a series of still-blackened patches of grass burned some time ago. Zyra bent down to touch the burned ground, muttering, "What happened here?"

"We did."
Udyr would appear from the forestry on Zyra's left side, glaring at the plant woman with his usual intense expression. "If your concern is of the plants, the soil will become more fertile due to our actions and the plants will grow stronger than before." The beast man crossed his arms and quietly stood, waiting to see what she would do next.
The proof that the state is a creation of nature and prior to the individual is that the individual, when isolated, is not self-sufficing; and therefore he is like a part in relation to the whole. But he who is unable to live in society, or who has no need because he is sufficient for himself, must be either a beast or a god.

Zyra turned to find Udyr standing behind her, with his usual intense expression she had come to get used to from their meetings in the Fields of Justice. "So this is your domain? I apologize for my intrusion, then," she said to the beast man. "Though, you wouldn't mind if I had some of my plants settle here for a bit until I find more... suitable accommodations for them, would you? To replace the ones you burnt, of course. Don't worry, I'll make sure they don't hurt the animal population too badly. I know what would happen if that were to happen..." Zyra shuddered at the memory: the downfall of her plant empire in the jungle centuries ago, driven by the dwindling supply of prey. She hoped that there was enough prey in these woods for her plants to live, and few enough champions and summoners prowling these woods going around and trampling the seedlings.

The beast man's lips drew back into a toothy snarl as he growled at the plant woman. Eventually, he quieted himself and grunted, "If they do not cause too much damage, then we will not disturb them."
Udyr rolled his shoulders, turned around, and started to walk away. He was a man of few words, if Zyra wished to have a conversation with him, she would have to speak and question him. This would, of course, lead to two paths: Either get her killed and quickly, or catch his interest and be able to speak with the beast man of Ionia.

Zyra cringed a little when Udyr started snarling, but did not try to make a move against him. After the beast man gave his approval (seemingly reluctantly), he started walking back from where he came. Zyra was relieved that she didn't have to fight, and started walking away as well when it hit her.
"Wait," she said abruptly, turning back to face Udyr. "You're closely connected to the animal world, right? Then tell me: Do you know what happened in the Kumungu Jungle all those years ago? When the animal population died off. That resulted in the destruction of my empire."
Zyra made a fist and muttered to herself, "I couldn't do anything then. But now..."

The beast man stopped and then looked back at Zyra. He grunted and rolled his shoulders. "Not all of the animals died. The cougars, and the monkeys, still thrived, along with small rodents and other small prey. Nidalee herself had to fend off and slaughter many people who were trying to cut down your home. Do we know who did it for certain? No. They are either dead, or forgotten in name. You can, however, speak with Nidalee, and her reason to join the League."
The beast man cricked her knuckles. "You should thank her when you see her, Plant. Nidalee joined the League to prevent the clearcutting of your jungle from both Demacia and Noxus. Who was it that was responsible for the stagnation of animals in particular? Environmental changes, from man, from the corruption that runes in Runeterra's veins, and from natural sources. It can be any number of these factors..."
Udyr let out a wistful grunt and shook his head. "Is this a satisfactory enough answer...Hrn..." The beast man reached up and stroked his beard. "What title do you prefer to be referred to as? Rise of the Thorns is redundant. How would you prefer to be referenced to?"
