Hi Maelstrom. Today I'm here with a unique announcement. I am now officially stepping forward as a member of the Original Character Council.
A little bit of history might be in order. I've personally been a part of the OC Council since its creation. I was immediately interested in the prospect when I was approached for the position and accepted without hesitation. I had been contacted partly due to my contribution to the Steward project that was, at the time, rather young still.
Initially, due to the speed with which I accepted, I had thought my position would primarily be to review lores and backstories for characters. This has always been my personal, primary focus while working with the Council and it afforded me a unique perspective into the character creation process. This perspective lead to a loose idea of where Dragons might fit in the Maelstrom universe, something I had been curious about from the community's creation. Over time, my idea solidified into a character, Rece.
As a public member of the Council I come bearing a proposition for anyone seeking assistance with their OC. I'm offering up my services as a preliminary check for your character. A consultant, more or less, offering both creative review and editing of a character. Of course, by offering this up to our large community, I have to be aware of my limitations as a human being and there are additionally some things I would like anyone who seeks my help to be aware of before contacting me.
[li]The absolute most important fact about these consultations is that they in no way supersede the need to formally submit your OC through the normal channels. Furthermore, these consultations do not completely ensure your acceptance once you have submitted your character. I am but one voice on the Council and therefore can provide no more than my own experience and view.
[/li][li]These consultations will likely be at least somewhat time consuming. (30+ min.)
Because of this, I have consultation hours and making an appointment is given precedence over a drop-in, though I do not expect to be cripplingly busy.

[/li][li]A special note to drop-in consultations. Please respect that even during my hours, my response may not be immediate. I am human and I do require nourishment and occasional walkies.
[/li][li]There are some things I can't do. Please do not ask me to reveal the identities of my fellow Council members, publicly or privately. I would not do so even if I had the ability. Please do not guess at their identities. I will refrain from even acknowledging such things beyond reference to this specific guideline

Be aware that if this falls out of my consultation hours and is more complex than I believe can be answered simply, I will ask you to either set an appointment or wait for my active hours. If you come to me at 5:32 AM ADT with a question, I will likely be either too tired or too completely unconscious to answer you.
