Hope. Hope was there when there was nothing there to fight for. When certainty left, hope replaced it. It was what gave people the power to keep moving to their goals, their loved ones, their family. However, like any fine and grand cut of meat, hope could go bad, rot away with the maggots of despair.
Suk was running low on hope. It's been a few months and little progress was made in getting to the mountains. There were no paths, none that he could find. He couldn't go seek help, he couldn't show himself to the public. Was his kind even alive? After that dreaded storm had torn the village apart? Could he really guarantee that he would come back to a loving family, and not decayed corpses? Questions like these tormented poor Suk-Taan every night as he tried to sleep away the tears... His only company for the night.
Another morning, another day Suk woke up with a tired and pained expression on his face. He climbed down the tree he slept in, making sure he didn't forget the violin. He didn't even bother with breakfast, he just continued to move along, alone in a world full of strange things like him.

Another lovely day in the beautiful and majestic Ionian woods. The air was as pure as an angel's heart and the melody of the wildlife danced in the air as the birds and insects sang a chorus in a perfect harmony. Ah, one could not miss such a beautiful sight of the Ionian nature. And even when autumn falls upon these lands, it remains as beautiful as it was during the spring.
The Nine-Tailed Fox, more known as Ahri, roamed around as she embraced the beauty of her surroundings. She was somehow glad she became what she is at this very moment, a human capable of noticing and admiring what's around it, cherishing the lovely gift that nature had to offer. Ahri wandered around aimlessly, having a bit of fresh air while taking a break from her work at the League. All these matches and battles surely made her waste some time but it also consumed her energy and she needed a break.
The Fox gazed around her with her admirable amber eyes, seeking a little spot where she could sit and enjoy herself while resting her body as the different entities that surrounded her appeased her soul. A few moments later, she found a nice area next to a pink blossom tree that was releasing an alluring scent in the air. Ahri was attracted by the lovely smell and followed it, before taking a seat right under the tree.
Suk had kept his hood up, eyes to the ground. His robes making the fluid motion as his legs kicked the cloth with each stride. He took in the morning his air, but all he could do was let out an exhale that trickled with sorrow. He knew that there may be a path, but... But at the same time he felt the hope decaying with each passing hour.
No... No he had to just clear his thoughts. He walked through the forests, some leaves falling as they lost their green shine, hints of of the changing seasons in the bushes above. It was going to get colder during these times, he couldn't have that. He kept walking until he saw in front of him a beautiful and a rather large pink cherry blossom tree. Little did he know though was that the tree held the stunning vixen that he had seen not long ago.
God that was a horrible experience. Pleasant to see the grand Blind Monk, but then there were people, and they talked to him and got close, and saw his face no less. It was just a whole heaping mess of things, and his lack of social interactions didn't help him save himself from embarrassment.
He walked over to the tree, letting out a sigh as he sat down. He was still a bit tired, waking up only a little while ago. His stomach let out a low growl, before he sighed with discomfort. His tail shifted out from beneath him, sticking out to the side of him. He looked down at the violin case he held onto, thinking that perhaps it will kill some time and wane him from his hunger. Ahri could hear the sounds of case locks clicking open. He pulled out, ready to play when the instrument let out an out of tune screech.
He hissed out, the sound not even remotely human sounding. He let out a low grumble, tuning where needed. When done so, he began to play his sad, soft tune.

Ahri's beautiful eyes fixed the bright sky as she comfortably sat on the ground. Her skin bathed under the powerful rays of the sun, giving her an abundant amount of energy that filled inside of her body and mind. Even though she was used to this kind of day; one should keep in mind that every day was different for Ahri as she always found something special in every one of them.
Not more than a few seconds after she rested her eyes, she heard a melody playing out in the air, a rather sad and melancholic melody. It echoed out through the wind and made its way to Ahri's ears, mesmerizing her for a few minutes as she listened to it curiously. The Fox enjoyed the song despite the mood it brought to her surroundings, and the curiosity grew up inside of her mind as she wanted to know what and who was producing such a beautiful music.
She turned around and noticed a little hooded person with a violin. A cutesy smile crept on her lips as she gazed at him for a while before letting her lips speak out a few words.
His hands were covered in scales. Claws were at the tip of his fingers. The characteristics of a beast, a monster, yet... They were so gentle. Delicate even. Years of learning how to control, how to restrain, self discipline, and the ways of Balance had rubbed off him to help him play music. Though he wasn't fully devoted to the beliefs of the roof he had lived under. You could take the lizardman from its culture, but you can't take the culture from the lizardman.
His hands flowed easily back and forth on the violin. With beauty and grace of a ballerina did his hands dance upon his treasured item. The violin had definitely had its moments when Suk was getting the hang of the instruments. Claw marks here and there, some light and some fairly visible. It most likely wouldn't be notice, but his name was etched into the bottom of it.
Nearing the music, he had closed his eyes, letting reality go and diving into the sea of notes and trails. His tail uncurled from beside him, slowly waving to the beat as he continued his sad tune. It was like another world. A world of serenity, beauty, and a world where nothing could bring harm or disturba-
"That's quite a lovely song~"
His eyes widened in fear, yanked out of his happy place with a beautiful voice. He jumped a bit, his violin screeching with discomfort as he rubbed the bow roughly against the strings. He yelped, covering his ears at the horrendous screech, but mostly from being startled. He turned quickly, only to see... Her...
It was her! The one fox woman who he met at the large party of people listening to Amaya's music! That... How did she get here? How LONG was she here? Had she been listening the whole time?? He tried to gain some distance, turning and falling on his rear, scooting back nervously. "I-I uh..." No words came out. It was her face that was the most recognizable. She was the one who had the most shock in her face, she was probably disgusted. Hell, she probably recognized him now that he was turned to her, hurriedly hiding his tail between his legs. "Uh... I..." Come on say SOMETHING. "T-T-Thanks... I guess... Or something... Y-Yeah..." Close enough.

Ahri's amber eyes watched the scene with a lot of curiosity as the little creature panicked and stumbled backward as he tried to create distance with the Nine Tailed Fox. He seemed rather familiar to her, but not because of his face that was exposed, nor his reptilian features, but more likely because of the violin case who held his name. She was most certainly sure that she had seen that name and that instrument before, but she forgot about the boy's face since she met him a while back then, and it was only once.
A bright and cheerful smile curved on her sweet and delicate lips as she stepped towards him and extended her arm at him, opening up her palm just in case he needed to grab onto something to stand up. But behind the bright layers of her facial expressions, she was a bit... confused. Usually when people see her, they would never panic nowadays, knowing that she became nothing but an innocent champion, looking to make up for her past mistakes and helping others whenever needed if she is able to do so.
She needed to reassure him that somehow, she was not going to hurt him if that was what he's afraid of. Her lips slightly opened up as her voice rang out of them, carried by a rather friendly tone.
"Don't be afraid, I'm not here to hurt you little one. I was just enjoying your lovely music~."
Suk looked up at her as she walked forward a bit. He scooted only half a inch, keeping that black hood of his tugged forward so that she wouldn't see. She may have forgotten, but he didn't know that. Then again, he didn't know much about her except for her appearance and how she acted. Frightening, since he had no experience and had NO idea how to handle this, but she seemed so... Kind and reassuring. Then she smiled. That sweet, innocent looking smile.
She extended the hand out, and he reeled back just a little. It opened up, as her soft friendly voice made him lower his arm that was once raised in defense. She spoke out to him, saying he wouldn't be harmed. Slowly, and hesitantly, he reached out for the hand. His scaly red hand slipped from beneath the sleeve as he took her hand into his. He moved his fingers a bit awkwardly, making sure the somewhat sharp ends of his fingers don't harm her.
He pulls himself, shaking a bit. He wasn't the strongest person ever, and holding a stranger's hand was stressing enough. After he got up, he quickly moved his hand back and into the cloth's security. "I-I... I see..." He said, looking off to the side, a bit embarrassed over his reaction. "S-Sorry about uh... About freaking out there..." He mumbled, eyes turning to her but his hood facing away from her ever so slightly. "H-How long have you been there?"

"Not too long~"
She cooed as her eyes gazed down at the little figure that was standing before her. Ahri was used to people being nervous around her, either because they were amazed or scared of her presence. She knelt down and tilted her head as she tried to get a better look at the little creature's face. Why was he hiding? Why was he ashamed of what he was or has underneath the hood? She did not want to ask him but it was killing her inside.
"O-Oh..." He mumbled, arm crossing over his chest to grab hold of his other one. He looked around for a moment, bending back down to grab his violin. He placed the instrument and bow back into the casing, locking it up before picking up the violin case into his hand. He turned around, seeing the vixen down on her knees. She could see his face, the lizard head under the hood. His golden eyes widened as he immediately took a couple steps back, looking away.
Why was she looking at him like that? He wasn't sure if he should feel ashamed, flattered, angry, or whatever else he could feel. He cleared this throat, turning his head slightly to her. "W-What? You've already seen my face before..."

Ahri's amber colored eyes peered into his as he looked back at her. Her soft and gentle hands moved towards his hood in an attempt to pull it back to have a clear view of his face and features. Yes, this was a sign that curiosity was killing her and she couldn't help it. The Vixen then spoke in a quiet voice, mostly to make him feel more comfortable around her and less ashamed of his look.
"I'm just wondering why you are hiding your face underneath your hood, are you ashamed of yourself? Because you should not be at all, we are all different; each one of us has something unique that makes us special for one another, so hiding your face, is hiding your uniqueness and the fact that you are different from the others. You're hiding what somehow makes you special."
Suk stood still, watching the delicate, human hand inch towards the edge of the hood. Slowly, the cloth was pulled back to reveal his face. He looked away, a flush of red forming under the crimson scales in embarrassment. How could he had just let her do that. His slit pupils turned to hers, gold eyes looking at each other. "Uniqueness?" He said, a tinge of sadness and angry in his voice.
He walked up to her, brows furrowing slightly. "What... W-What makes me 'special' is why I'm here NOW." He said, anger rising in his tone. His mouth was open, trying to form the words. "I... If it weren't for me being so different... For US being so different, we wouldn't have been drove into the mountains!" He said, pointing to his destination. "A-And... And now my family is on the brink of extinction!" His voice was getting louder, and he cut himself off, realizing what he was doing.
No... No he couldn't act like this. He wasn't a savage reptilian. He knew better. He lowered his hand, sighing. "L-Look... I-I just need to get to the mountains. I need to know if my family isn't... W-Well... You know." He said softly. He looked away, expression painted with shame and embarrassment. "And on top of it all... I-I'm lost in the middle of... W-Where ever we are."

The anger that dwelt in his heart forced Ahri back on her feet as his tone grew louder. The way he glared at her almost made her feel like he was about to act and hurt her. She began to step back as his words spewed out of his throat, held by the aura of his anger that pierced through her. Fear and confusion overwhelmed her heart, what did she do? She surely crossed the boundaries by revealing his face and now she might pay for her actions.
And then, he calmed down, but the Vixen was still afraid of the young reptile's behavior, she was worried and she had all the reasons to. But deep within his anger, she could feel sadness and sorrow; his anger was nothing but a layer to hide all of his frustrations and sadness that lurked inside of his soul. But is she able to help him? Well... She was not quite sure, but if there are any chances, she will. After taking a breath, she took a few steps towards him and looked down at the poor creature. A timid smile curved on her lips as she spoke.
"I suppose I could help you get back to your home little one, if you wish so. Besides, I would feel guilty and terribly sad if I left you here helpless."
The fact that she only stepped away from him was proving his mental conscious that he was in the wrong. He wanted to say sorry, but that probably wouldn't help. He just looked away, the saddened expression on his face. Wouldn't be the first time he lashed out at someone, looking like some sort of monster in front of others.
He turned back to her, hearing her voice. Her red lips curving into a shy smile. She would help him? HIM? He looked at her with a raised brow. "R-Really?" He asked softly. "You... Y-You would do that?" He thought it over. He could use the help, but quite frankly, would it be a good idea? He knew she was friendly but... He just didn't know, something in the back of his mind told him not to.
But he NEEDED to get to his family. He would do anything to make sure they were okay. He looked away for a moment, before turning back to her. "Well... L-Lead the way." He said softly. He crossed his arms briefly with a grumble. "A-And I'm not a 'little one,' the elders told me I'm old enough in human years to drink alcohol..."

Gently smiled at his statement, although, she didn't really know where to head to, all she knew is that she had to take him back to the mountains and find his family... Hopefully alive, that would be good for both of them. She looked around her for a few moments then gazed back at him.
"Do you know where is it exactly? I've never been out to the mountains."
Suk nods quickly, stuttering softly. "Y-Yes. I-I know where to go once we are at the mountains." He said, looking up at them. His eyes narrowed, until he smiled, pointing up to the closest mountain. Though it was close, it was still a distance. Perhaps a day or two. "There. I recognize that one. It's where we need to get going." He knew his home and its environment like the back of his hand. It was only because of the severe lightning storm was he lost and confused that night.
