September 5th, 4CLE. A younger Razie Tynerson's lab.
For once, Razie Tynerson was afraid. Yes, afraid. The emotion of fear, or any rarely came over the promising young boy of Piltover but today special, it was his first date with Tiffany. The young Zaunite chemist he had found himself smitten with after months of her visiting him at his lab while her father talked with his father about potential business deals. He was in his trademark suit minus the tie and goggles, a table with two chairs at opposite sides and a single candle at the center, his attempt at being 'romantic'. They had agreed at the time of 6:00, and by now it was nearly 6:30. Razie was about to get up from his seat when Arthur, their personal waiter for the evening appeared with a sorrowful look on his face.
" Master Tynerson..."
Razie looked up to the tall man with slight annoyance in his eyes and replied with slight sarcasm. "Yes Arthur, I know. It would appear Tiffany has stood me up." At this point he rose from his chair and started walking past the waiter, raising his arms in minor frustration. "YES, I should've known allll along. All this time we've been spending together just to get my hopes up for this moment. only to CRUSH them. Just like a Zaunite to fool me into lowering my guard like that, I'm a fool, an idiot-" At this point Arthur had adamantly interrupted the young inventor by raising his voice.
"NO sir, lady Tiffany will not be joining you today." Razie sighs and slowly begins to pace around the lab, voice rising in anger. "AND WHY NOT?! What's her excuse?!" Arthur hesitates on speaking at first, but decides to just let it out. "Lady Tiffany could not join you today... because she has passed away, she was dealing with a mix of chemicals for your lifelong project when it had a deadly reaction and exploded, the lab was in ruins, with her."
Razie stopped and took a moment to take this in, his first rival... his first crush, his first true love... gone. He collapsed and let his anger out on the cold floor of the lab, beating into it with his fists.
"She can't be... it's not fair. She was the only person I couldn't instantly read like a book, the only person that I felt threatened by...." At this moment he looked to Arthur and silently dismissed him, but not before the waiter pulled a small note from his pocket and placed it on the table.
When he was out of sight Razie let the tears roll down his cheeks. He was simply overwhelmed by this loss, even moreso that he had just disrespected her without knowing what had happened. The tears didnt stop for some time, he pulled himself together and looked at the table, Arthur had left a note upon it. Razie took it and unfolded it, the text within was a little hard to read but he could still understand it.
"Razie.
I'm writing this because I could probably never say this to your face, I do hope you understand what I'm trying to tell you though.
That project you were working on... you called it your life's work? That's a little silly Tynerson. You told me the day we first met that your dream was to make the lives of the people of Piltover easier, and that's when I punched you in the face and made you cry like the little kid you are. You probably didn't understand then... heck you probably don't understand now, but that goal you strive for is pointless. You, as a young Techmaturgist have to realize that what you're doing can't only be for your city-state. Whatever that big cute brain of yours decides to do later has to be for Valoran as a whole, just like what I'm doing in Zaun. I do what I do because I want the WORLD to be better, not just my home.

That's what I've decided your life's work will be now by the way, and it's going to help the world as a whole, not only Piltover. And if it doesn't then I WILL find you and beat some sense into you again, understand Tynerson?
Oh who am I kidding, why can't I just tell this to your face Tynerson? I just want you to eventually shock the world with your future inventions. There, that wasn't so hard."
-Tiffany, who still refuses to admit you're smarter than her.
He didn't really have words at first, tears began slowly rolling down his cheeks again onto the floor of the lab. He walked to the back of his lab, note clutched in his hand and looked up at the sign he had placed upon it "E.V.O.L.V.E" he reached up and tore it off and minutes later replaced it with a new sign that had the following attached proudly in green text.

When he put up that sign he had decided something, he decided he would do whatever it took no matter if it was moral or immoral to advance the world. He took the note Tiffany had wrote to him as a will, and from this point onward he would honor it.
Present day, September 15th CLE.
An older Razie Tynerson looked up to the sign at the back of his lab, knowing behind it was his new lifelong project, the RUKAN. Silently remembering his promise 9 years later he pulled that same note out of his pocket and sat down cross-legged and began to speak up to that same sign with large green text.
"I know you're not actually behind that door my love, but I want you to know that even now I haven't forgotten about you. Everything that I have done: The good, the bad, the questionable. It's all been for you, I even plan on going to Viktor to take what things further, to make this sad sad world smile brightly again. And I know that if you were here, you would probably punch me for making such a joke, but I know that you actually found it... sweet."
He rose from the floor and gave a deep bow to the sign before stuffing the note back into his pocket and walking slowly out of the lab to make his way to Zaun. Speaking softly as he exited the lab.
"All I do, even now... is for you."
