July 23rd, 23 CLE, City hall
Tristana aproached the city hall, hoping to get some answers at last. Everyone she asked told her to talk to the Mayor until the chain ended with the mayor. So Tristana marched onward, not carrying the joyful attitude most people remember her by. She seemed down, infact. When she went in, she went straight to the mayor's secretary, and asked her: "Can I make an appointment with the mayor? Or speak with him?"

Nellie looks up from her paperwork and adjusts her glasses, in her mind identifying the yordle in front of her using as much information at possible. "Tristana. Megling Commando. Champion of the League, correct? He's in a meeting right now, but they've been at it for several hours. If you take a seat right over there I'm sure you'll catch him on his way back to the office in a couple of minutes."
The secretary points to a few cushioned chairs across the room from her desk. She'd been around for enough of Jadefellow's meetings where her estimates of when they'd end are rarely off. Tristana shouldn't have to wait too long, though she may get antsy from sitting in one place for more than three minutes.

"Known Also as the Megling Gunner, Tagged by the League as Marksman and Mage, correct." She said. The secretary might see Tristana's less than cheerful mood if she cared to look up.
"Thank you miss, have a nice day." Tristana moved to the chairs, took a seat, and hoped she wouldn't have to wait too long.

Exactly twelve and a half minutes later, the mayor and a few government officials enter the lobby carrying their papers, some writing things down while others are obviously deep in thought. Jadefellow makes his way across the room towards the hallway, a troubled expression on his face, though his posture while walking seems quite normal. He doesn't take note of anyone around, so if anyone wants to talk they'll have to try hard to catch his attention.

Tristana had picked up a magazine, and begun to skim through it, waiting for the mayor. The magazine discussed pets, and Tristana wasn't one to care for a pet, but there was no better subject available. Not one she hadn't read already, anyway. When he finally finished his meeting, Tristana looked up and started to wonder if this was really the right moment. Then again, if it wasn't, she could always make an appointment. So she stood up, straightened herself, and politely inquired with the mayor "Excuse me, Mayor Jadefellow, can I speak with you?"

"Hrm?"
The mayor continues walking, though his nose twitches a little and he slightly turns his head in Tristana's direction. "Oh? OH! Tristana! I didn't... recognize you right away. Come, to my office. I've got a lot of work to do, but... I can spare some time to listen."
He waves his free hand, gesturing for the Megling Gunner to follow while he hustles back to his office, holding tight to a fairly large binder under his other arm.

Tristana proceeded to follow the mayor into his office, took a seat, and thought: "I hope he atleast knows who else to ask" She proceeded to inquire: "Mr mayor, more than half a year ago, the Institute of War announced that they are stopping the fights on the Fields of Justice because the world's stability was threathened and they had to solve that first." Tristana did not look particularly happy stating that. "The situation has not bettered since then and I, as a Champion, feel like I'm not doing enough to bring the world back to a stable position. Do you know how I can assist more than I am right now? Or who to ask that?" This was the most serious Dennis, or anyone else, would see Tristana for a while.

The mayor seats himself at his desk and quickly goes to opening the binder and arranging several papers that were held within. While he does this, he speaks to the Megling, though he doesn't have a chance to look up at her.
"Hmm... you're troubled by the lack of combat on the Fields? Well, unfortunately I do not have much influence in that situation, Tristana. The Institute has been fairly busy in the prevention of further chaos by the escaped champions... perhaps they may have better suggestions than I would. I do not feel they will be opening the Fields again any time soon, but if you'd like to help them out, then you'd have to go to them."
For a moment the mayor pauses what he's doing, looking up into space blankly with twitching ears. A moment later he drops his gaze to Tristana. "Also, if you plan on going anywhere, I'd suggest you talk to your superior officers first. Though you do not hold a high position in the special forces, you're still a champion, and you're a champion because you are very skilled in combat. I'd imagine that your superiors have plenty of assignments for one with your talents."

Tristana listened to the mayor's answer, and seemed confused. She'd tried to make it seem like the cause was bothering her, yet the mayor saw through it as if it was glass. She was a bit dissapointed that he didn't have an answer. "Oh. I'll try to find a representative then. I don't think they have a gathering place in Bandle City though. Any Idea where I can find one? Also, My talent in combat is a bit part of the problem. There's very little combat to be done, and if something happens, usually the City Guard or the Scouts handle it. Not that I don't understand, sending a weapon crew after bandits is a bit... impractical. But that still leaves me doing less than I should- About the unstable situation, I mean. "

Calmly the mayor folds his hands and gives Tristana a warm smile. Even if she had more motivation than a simple desire to help others, the generosity shown in the young woman brings a bit of hope to Dennison's heart. Hopefully this younger generation will really prove to be surprising and help each other to stay strong and prosper.
"The Meglings indeed are a group left with very little to do in terms of combat when there is no necessary combat to be had, Tristana. Though I'm not one to encourage fighting, I also do not want to leave someone without a way to help the community. Actually, the rest Senate and I have recently deliberated upon a new city project that will involve many of our Megling Commandos. Now," He takes a pause to sit back and breathe before continuing, "If you really want to visit the Institute and figure out the best way you can help them recover, the first person you should speak to is your superior officer. You'll want their permission before going off on a personal mission. Unfortunately, as far as I know we do not have a representative of the Institute residing in the yordle lands. Your best bet would be to visit the Institute in person, and if they do find a task for you then you'll be right there to do it."
