April 27, 23 CLE
Alexis looked around with a calculating eye, uncertain where she should go first. This would be her first day off, and she was expected back to Darkbourne Hold at 2000 hours. The money in her pocket might have seemed meager to anyone else- but to Alexis, it was a pcoket full of wealth, and the freedom that comes with it.
The sidewalks bustle with people, even at such an early hour of the morning. Hundreds of voices assault the maid, after having worked in a relatively quiet environment. The very architecture of the Hold seemed to discourage idle conversation, in favor of efficient work. Vendors call out for her attention, but if she pays them any attention, it is only to offer a shake of her head. Today, Alexis has her own timetable, and she plans to take full advantage of it. They charge too much for cheap wares; she wants something good.
It's a shame I don't yet have enough money for a new dress, she muses idly. Maybe next time. I won't spend everything today.
The first place that catches her eye is a candy store. In the Hold, all the servants are fed, and well, but such a nutritional regiment rarely includes dessert. Her eyes shine silver, and she steps in with her notepad ready to make her requests known.
The place smells- cotton candy, sugared fruits, and myriad chocolates all vie for dominance in the small, relatively uncrowded space. Alexis finds herself pleased by the lack of people; it's hard to be noticed when all you can do is write, and others can shout. Her attention is captured by a large display of lollipops, and the shopkeeper notices.
"Hello, young lady," she calls out, and Alexis pauses before smiling in greeting. "Were you looking for anything in particular?"
Alexis shakes her head, still smiling, before looking them over. Nice to just linger, with nothing pressing to do yet. After a few thoughtful minutes, she chooses three lollipops and a slab of toffee, studded with almonds and pecans. There, that's healthy. It takes a few minutes at the counter before the woman notices her, and Alexis holds out a long pre-written note.
'How much?'
To her great surprise, the shopkeeper takes the page, and scribbles down a number- her handwriting is illegible, and Alexis nearly cringes at it. How could someone make one number look so terrible? 'No, ma'am, I'm not deaf. Could you just say that out loud, please?'
"Oh! My apologies, miss. 10 Marks for the lot."
It was two digits? Wow. Alexis nods, the eye of a storm beginning to spin in her grey gaze, and takes out the appropriate number of coins. The woman counts them out twice, before smiling, bagging the candies in a paper sack, and bidding her customer a good day.
The sun was starting to rise above some of the taller buildings- perhaps it's 9:30, now. I could have second breakfast at a restaurant, if I wanted. Her eyes gleam with delight at such a wasteful, luxurious plan. I'll do it; why not? I have the money, and certainly I've the appetite. Maybe if I'm wider, more people will notice me. The slightest smirk lends mischief to her face as she wanders down the sidewalk, nimbly avoiding streetlamps and people alike.
April, the month in between winter and summer, the month when the sun began to become warmer and the air less humid. The sun shone brightly at Marcy's back and umbrella as she walked through the streets of Noxus, she had decided to go on a small sugar shopping spree before going to bed and sleep for the day. She walked around Noxus, visiting various shops and picking up candy and some cookies as she walked by. It took her some time but eventually she reached the center of the market, looking around herself and carefully aligning the umbrella to block the sun whenever she moved.
She felt a tingling sensation that quickly became a threat to her, someone was wearing or had a solari symbol on them in the near vicinity. She began moving in the opposite direction until she couldn't feel it's presence any more. She sighed and looked around herself once again before beginning to move away from the most central area of the market. Marcy kept walking for a while, constantly looking into different shops for any sweets that she might be wanting.
Hunger began creeping up on her, not the bite someones neck hunger, just normal hunger. She could sit down on a bench and eat some of her sweets and the like, but that would mean she wouldn't have anything for when she got home. So instead she decided to go to a restaurant and eat something, there was one not too far away that she had been to a few times before.
Deciding to go there she began to walk down the street, she didn't get too far before bumping into someone. "Oh, my bad, I should have paid attention. Are you okay?" She asked the rather skinny looking girl she bumped into, hoping she hadn't hurt her or something.

Alexis stumbles as the woman bumps into her, but catches herself quickly- as small as she is, one becomes used to it. At the question, she shakes her head with a smile, taking out her notepad. The pencil speeds over the page, leaving her usually-impeccable handwriting just a bit sloppier than usual. It's still legible, thankfully- but she wouldn't want to delay someone simply to reply to a polite inquiry.
'Hello- I'm alright, but thank you for asking. How are you, this morning?' She holds up the note in front of her chest, her demeanor very formal. The dress looks like part of a maid's uniform, and it's wrinkled where an apron would usually be tied.
The woman who stands before her is very pale- and the umbrella would seem to indicate a certain aversion to the sun. Alexis had heard tell of vampires before, and this person seemed to be, but she'd never met one before.
Marcy looks at the small girl in front of her, the girl seemed to be some kind of maid, all that was missing from her outfit was an apron. Marcy retook her grip on her bag and waited for an answer but didn't get one. She was beginning to think she had been rude against the girl at first until she noticed the notepad and the pencil. Could she be a mute? Marcy for one had only met a mute once before, and she wasn't exactly the nicest one. But this girl seemed different, not like the old hag Marcy had met a few years earlier.
Marcy smiles as she reads the note, her handwriting was a bit sloppy but she could still read it quite easily. "Ah, that's good." She said with a rather cheerful tone, "I'm fine, just heading to grab something to eat, you?" The vampiric singer in front of the mute twirled her umbrella with one of her gloved hands. She hoped that the girl wouldn't think she was going to eat her, it was a common misconception between Humans and Vampires when the latter mentioned eating.

'I was about to do so, as well,' answers Alexis, her lips curving up slightly as she writes. It'd been a long time since someone talked to her like a normal person- excluding orders and protocol, of course. 'I hope you don't mean me? (That's a joke.)' She knows full well how easily text can go misinterpreted, after all. With a smile, she passes the note over.
Idly, she considers the possibilities of the vampire's statement, but decides to leave the decision up to her. It might not reflect well on the Hold for her to go asking anyone out to breakfast with her. What kind of social life is permitted? Alexis wonders. I should ask Vivien when I return.
Marcy looks at the note and chuckles lightly, "No, I'm not going to eat you silly, I'd ask you first." she said and looked in her eyes. "But... you do look tasty.." her voice had a playful tone to it. She looked up at the sky for a moment and re aligned the umbrella slightly.
The vampire looked at her again and held out her hand, "Name's Marcy, Marcy Lee." She waited for Alexis to shake her hand. While she did she gave the mute a better look, picking up some details she had missed at first.

'My name is Alexis Lindser,' she replies, smiling at the woman's comment. 'And I'm afraid I'm underaged- as well as a maid in Darkbourne Hold. I wouldn't suggest eating me.' A few small, hitching breaths stand in for laughter as she holds out a hand to shake. Despite the thinness of her fingers, her grip is firm.
Marcy smiled as she read the note, "Ah, nice to meet you Alexis." The girl's grip was rather firm for her rather skinny looking fingers, maybe because of her profession. She let her go and smiled, "It's okay, as I said. I don't bite without asking at first, but I would never bite anyone who's underage." Marcy replied reassuring.
Marcy looked up at the sky once again, "It's getting a bit late for me and I'm getting hungry, want to join me for breakfast?" She offered with a smile, "Let's go, I know a place not too far from here. Unless you don't want of course." She didn't mind if Alexis didn't accept her invitation.

'By all means. I was about to get some, myself. Has your restaurant a shaded exit, just in case? I confess, I don't know much about how vampires live.' It's as indirect a question as Alexis feels she should ask; there doesn't seem to be a need for delicacy around the subject.
It would be interesting to learn more about them, she muses, ready to follow Marcy's steps as she holds up the note. Her demeanor is fascinating; I'd expected less cheer. Her silver eyes size up the woman before her- she finds it best to examine people when they're reading what she's written, so that they won't notice her assessment.
The vampire read the note and giggled a little. The mute seemed not to be afraid of Marcy's nature which made her smile.
"There is no need for a shaded exit, the whole reason I have an umbrella with me is to block the sun. And as you may see, I'm almost fully covered in clothes, except for my head."
Marcy hadn't noticed that the mute girl had been assessing her while she had been reading what the note was saying. "It's down this way." She said and began walking, slow enough for Alexis to catch up.

Not much can be taken from Marcy's appearance- her sleek gloves keep Alexis unable to discern anything from the vampire's hands, though they offer the impression of some money, and definite refinement in clothing tastes.
Tucking away her notepad for now, Alexis nods, and keeps pace with the woman. I wonder if she's got a schedule upon which she needs to drink blood? ...well, I'll ask if I get to know her a little better over breakfast. I'd hate to be rude; she's a Noxian just like I am.
The modest black dress covers Alexis, as well, though not as much as Marcy. Her legs are almost as pale as the vampire's- I assume, she corrects. Then again, if they've never been exposed to the sun... I guess her face is a better indication. Curiosity bubbles within her as they walk.
((I assumed gloves, and money based on the bar recently opened. Let me know if you want me to edit~))
Marcy smiled as Alexis caught up, they walked down the street Marcy was heading earlier until they stopped outside a small café. Marcy opens the door and motions for Alexis to walk in before her, she follows in behind her shortly after and points at a table with no sunlight on it.
"Let's sit over there." She said with a smile and walked up to the table.
The Café was rather small in size but it had a rather nice look to it. The tables were round with four chairs around each with a small pack of napkins as well as salt and pepper available. She sat down on the table after folding her umbrella and putting away her gloves. The Vampire then opened her jacket and showed her normal red blouse as she sat down at the table and waited for Alexis.

Alexis smiles politely in thanks, and walks into the café. Her steps are measured, the flats clicking softly on the floor. Arriving at the table at the same moment as the vampire, she pulls out two chairs, taking her seat with a certain well-hidden awkwardness.
How long has it been since I just... went out to eat with someone? I don't think I have before, not on my own. It's a novel experience for the young maid, as someone who's always been owned by others.
A waiter passes by, and places a menu in front of each of them- he passes a somewhat uneasy glance over the two, but says nothing, save asking if they'd like a drink.
"I'd like a glass of spring water- no ice, please." Alexis holds the paper up where it can be clearly seen by the boy.
Marcy looked up at the waiter and smiled, "I'd like a glass of red wine and pancakes." She said with a smile, "Oh and I'll be the one paying for all of this.
She looked back at Alexis and smiled, the smile encouraged her to order something more.

Alexis pauses, surprised by the trace of heat that rises to her cheeks; she'd planned to use her wages to pay for her half of the meal.
'If you don't mind, then, I'd like a bowl of noodles with chicken broth, and a side of julienned vegetables.' It's still a cheap meal- it had been what she was looking at for ordering after her drink.
After he's taken both of their orders, the waiter rushes off to the kitchen. Alexis' thanks are scribed in a much nicer script than her usual writing; a few curls accent the letters before she resumes her usual print.
