August 29, 21CLE
Bilgewater, a place full of citizens who live by the sea. They fish, they sail, but then there were the pirates. Dastardly sea bandits who would fight any other ship for every ounce of its gold. Strong, scurvy riddled, and sick men. And if they weren't a pirate, they could probably be a beggar.
Perfect candidates.
A fairly young man standing on the dock of a Zaunite ship as it was sailing into port. His black hair ruffled slightly from the saltwater wind blowing in his face. He wore a black plain t-shirt to go along with a pair of black pants and combat boots. The dock came into port, as men began to unload crates off the main deck. Along with the other passengers, he just walked off the board and onto the decks of Bilgewater.
He looked around, seeing the various buildings further ahead, some of them with large crystals powering its structure. Perhaps a bar would perhaps be best? Plenty of people there, and perhaps a few people drunk enough to be convinced. No, scratch that, that's a TERRIBLE idea. He needed fully capable people to be devoted to this cause. Not some fat drunk pirates with a fancy beard and a gun.
He walked through the crowds of people with ease, weaving through the groups of large men carrying crates in their tattooed arms. Finally, when getting into out of the docks and into the town, he gave another quick scan around him. So where to start? Who would be the person he would take back with him to Zaun to join the Glorious Evolution?

But, what the newcomer didn't realize, is that there were eyes on him already as he stepped down onto the pier from the Zaunite ship. Blue eyes that melded into the waters perfectly, combined with a sleek, blue body, making the Trickster hard to spot from the piers. He had his eyes on the man. Zaunite designs didn't usually bring things Fizz liked, so he had his suspicions about this person.
So, he decides to mess with the man a bit to see how he reacts. Unrehearsed reactions bring the best results for a prankster, and they were good at uncovering one's personality as well. Taking a quick look around him, Fizz quickly spears a passing fish with his trident. That would be good enough. He throws the fish from the water towards the man, large enough to make a regular man stumble, but small enough to not cause injuries.
He then dives beneath the waves, only the glint of the glyphs on the blades of the trident and the golden ring that hanged from his ear showing any signs of movement beneath the waves. He then starts to make his way to the other side of the pier, planning on surprising this Zaunite in a manner that would amuse the Trickster.

XenoS had to duck and weaved through waves of people. The large men mumbling "Excuse me," to the young man as he gave a simple nod to them and politely stepping out of the way. He turned to see the waters, the blue waves splashing against the barnacle riddled stone walls that marked the border of the actual town, and the moss covered support beams of the docks.
He continued moving on, until a fish had hit him in the side of the head. He stumbled to the right, bumping into a sailor who was carrying a crate of hardtack for the journey ahead. And then it was dominos. He stumbled into him, and then that sailor bumped into another man who dropped a crate full of wheat onto the ground, as it rolled ahead and knocked a man over with a map. XenoS froze instantly, as multiple people turned to see the people on the ground with XenoS behind them, them fish flopping about the pier boards.
He immediately left the fish behind, not even taking note of Fizz under the water. He grabbed the barrel so that he could turn it onto its base, preventing the supplies from going anywhere. He helped the groaning man with the map, asking him if he was okay before helping the other one up. In this type of town, it was probably best to help out instead of running away and getting himself into more trouble. Being noticed probably wouldn't be a good thing, then again he was recruiting, got to come out and confrontational at one moment or two.
After all that was done, and receiving a few curse words from the sailors, he gave an apology before heading down the piers and docks, being extra careful this time. But... How did that fish get up there? He turned to the waters, the general direction where Fizz was, but saw nothing. His eyes narrowed for only a second before he continued on his way.

So far, the man had acted in a way not usual to Bilgewaterians, but in a way that seemed trustworthy. But, there was always a chance of hiding something beneath one's actions, so Fizz didn't ease off so easily. He had learned how Bilgewater works in the time he had spent here, and politeness only went so far with the rough crowd of pirates, drunks and bounty hunters.
He swims beneath the pier to the other side, where he sticks his trident to one of the vertical logs that went deep into the bottom of the sea, and climbed onto the trident. He then grabbed on to the edge of the pier and pulled the weapon from the log, swinging himself up to the pier. Moving effortlessly through the crowd of people due to his size and nimbleness, he follows the man, pondering how to test him next. Perhaps when a bar came along, he could try and set up a drunken pirate to try and fight the Zaunite to see his reaction? If nothing else, it'd give the barkeep some time to breathe freely when the biggest problem drinker was knocked out.

XenoS kept walking along the pier, making it to the streets where he walked across the town. Even from here he could smell the saltwater air... And the pirates... Eugh. He kept a casual pace, in no real hurry to find people. Things like this took time. Perhaps a bar would be a good place to do business. Plenty of people willing to do trade, or people without purpose that he could help rebuild in both the metaphorical and literal sense.
It didn't take too long for him to find one either. The Salty Spittoon it was called... Odd name for a bar. Then again from what he saw the people of Bilgewater were odd, but more so out of the sense that they were odd due to being different from the typical Zaunite man. He walked in, opening up the door and looking around inside.
Men were gathered were around tables, drinking their beer and telling their stories, as some flirted with the barmaids that walked around. One of the ladies even approached the assassin with a sultry attitude, asking if he could get him anything to which he respectfully declined. He walked further into the bar, taking a seat at one of the stools, just taking a casual look around of the place. He sat next to a fairly large, but fairly tipsy pirate.

As Fizz enters the bar, the barkeep looks at the small amphibian with a scowl. Not many people in the port town liked the Trickster due to his antics, and the bartender was not one of the few who did. Fizz slides on over to the counter however, and quietly explains the situation to the barkeep. For once, Fizz's tricks would make his life easier, so his scowl turns into a slight grin.
Fizz then quickly rounds the counter again, looking around the bar. The last test for Fizz would be how the guy reacts to a bar fight. So, to start a fight on two fronts at once, he swipes the liquor bottle of a rather drunk, large pirate while the pirate looks elsewhere and throws it at the big guy next to XenoS. The arc that the bottle flies in makes it look like it came from XenoS, and the burly man turns angrily to the metallic man when the bottle hits.
"You wanna fight huh pipsqueak? You got a fight then!"
But before he can do anything, a chair hits him on the back, the pirate who's drink had been stolen smashing it on the man's back. Quickly, a fight ensues with most of the bar's patrons involved in one way or another. Now this was a true test of XenoS's reaction to Fizz, as this was Bilgewater at it's truest. A drunken, angry, somewhat bloodthirsty mess of pirates and sailors. Fizz himself sits on the counter, looking at the fight with a large grin and a slight chuckle.

XenoS had been drumming his knuckles on the wooden counter to keep himself entertain, listening in on conversations that were going on. Trade talk, stories about hunting and fishing, some more... Darker trade negotiations. It wasn't his business though, no need to delve further into that. Though it would be nice to know the location of a stash meant for trading, perhaps two.
He didn't even notice Fizz, but the liquor bottle crashing against the pirate's body made his eyes widen. He watches him turn to him with his intoxicated fury, getting out of his seat quickly as the man declares battle. "Wait, it wasn't-" he tried to explain the situation calmly, but then saw the back of a chair hit him. For a first impression of Bilgewater, this wasn't necessarily the best one he had. Soon, chaos broke out and punches flew everywhere. A man came charging at him, swinging a drunken punch. XenoS got into a fighting stance, face scowling and becoming serious.
He side stepped quickly, grabbing a hold of his striking arm and shoulder, doing a 360 spin, and tossing the man off his balance and onto the ground as he laid there with a groan. Another attacker came at him, and blocked the attack, before punching the man square in the face. He went down quickly, and it was shown that XenoS knew his CQC rather well.
He turned around, seeing the Tidal Trickster have a tiny laughing fit him narrow his eyes. He walked up to him, dodging the crossfire of fists and stools. "It was you wh-" crap another angry pirate. He side stepped again, and sent an elbow to the man's temple before he went falling to the ground. He pointed a finger at Fizz, a glare on his face. "Did you start this?"

Fizz looks at the man with a devious grin. A good and clean fighter it seemed, the type that would manage to survive a long time in Bilgewater as long as he didn't turn his back on anyone. He nimbly avoids a couple of swings from a drunk pirate that tries to attack him, not seemingly even bothered by the man. He quickly slides down from the counter, sticks his trident to the floorboards and uses it to vault himself over the man, sweeping his legs from beneath him and sending him unconscious with a quick strike from the ornate back end of the trident. He then turns to look at the Zaunite he had followed, his aqua blue eyes showing his playful nature, while his grin shows that he isn't afraid of a fight.
Perhaps I did. Ya can ask aroun' from anyone in Bilgewater really, I am known for causin' trouble around here. Heck, they almost threw me outta here once, but they couldn't catch me and I kinda saved their arses.
He then pokes XenoS's legs with his trident, the glyphs on the blades glowing to show the magic within the weapon.
I gotta test the newcomers ya know, especially from Zaun. I may cause trouble, but I don't want any o' my folks here being kidnapped, that's what I hear Zaun is known for after all. You got a problem with a fight or somethin'?

XenoS watched as the sea creature easily dodged the drunkards of the bar, his nimble movements too good for the slow yet strong swipes of the brutal pirates. Obviously this fish being was no laughing matter, even though that's all he seemed to do when looking at the intoxicated brawlers. He watched as Fizz approached, giving him a look of confusion at his talk. "Kidnap? No no, you got it wrong. I'm not kidnapping anyone, I'm recruiti- look out!"
A pirate came to slam a bar stool on top of the Tidal Trickster's head, as he quickly grabbed the chair's leg, and kicked the man in the gut to make him lose grip and fall back with a groan. He set the stool down to the side before looking back at him. "I'm recruiting for the Glorious Evolution, to give people a start at a new life, or to come to Zaun if they wanted to."

By the time that XenoS grabbed the bar stool that was headed Fizz's way, the Trickster had casually leaned back just enough to have been able to avoid it. Chuckling, Fizz shakes his head and with a somersault backwards easily regains his posture.
I think we should continue this outside, it ain't the best o' ideas to try an' have a civilized conversation in the middle of drunks in a bar fight an' all. But yah, yer intentions may be recruitin', but I can't know that ahead o' time, now can I?
This is the only home I got, and even if I ain't necessarily liked, I ain't gonna let 'em just get into trouble they haven't deserved. So, for that reason, I like to test the newcomers. Also, I am known as a bit o' a prankster, so be happy it's just a bar fight and a lil' fish to the head ya got. Ya can go ask the yordles in Bandle City if ya want about what I am able to pull off, I pulled off somethin' there a few months ago.
The Trickster then lets out a bit longer, highly amused laughter and starts to make his way out of the bar, leaning side-to-side and blocking a couple of coming swings with his trident, returning the favor to the drunken fighters with a quick smack to the head with the blunt edges of the weapon to knock them out without causing any dangerous injuries.

XenoS listened to the little fish boy, looking around to make sure that nothing happened to either one of them. "That makes sense. The hero Bilgewater deserves, but not the one they need right now." It was reminding him of himself, if only a little. Sure, he wasn't wanted, or needed, but he still did a damn good job of fighting and taking down the no good scum that ruined Zaun. A mercenary with a purpose he supposed, even if he had to do a few bad things.
He followed him out quickly, dealing a right hook to an oncoming pirate, before roundhouse kicking another. Another came at him with a bottle of rum, before he grabbed his wrist and twisted it roughly. The drunkard cried out as he dropped the bottle into XenoS's grip, before he smashed the bottle against his head, most certainly bringing the man down into unconsciousness. He was a little less lenient, killing was something he was use to, and wasn't something he was use to holding back either.
He stepped out of the bar with Fizz, people already leaving the premise as he looked around the bustling streets and docks of Bilgewater. He looked down at the Tidal Trickster, brow raised. "So... We're not going back there. Any suggestions?"
Post by The Tidal Trickster on Oct 27, 2013 15:01:41 GMT -5
Whatever ya want. This is Bilgewater, it ain't like people here are strict when it comes to what ya can and can't do. Well, except from outright killin' each other... well, that is pretty much fair too when it comes to gainin' leadership of ships. Ol' Gangplank did that long ago I think.
Fizz chuckles and walks over to a barrel full of fish at a merchant's stand. Most people knew him well enough to leave him alone, and let him now and then take a fish or two for himself... or Chomper. So, he picks up a fish and looks over to the water.
Hey Chomps, you down there? Catch!
He throws the fish into the water, it landing with a splash. A moment later, a large Dragon Shark jumps up, catching the fish from the surface and towering over the piers for a moment before crashing back into the water.
So, what'd you wanna do then? The city is an oyster, a haven for those who don't wanna be stuck with laws, soldiers and scholars.

XenoS doesn't do much of anything except for standing and watching the Tidal Trickster move about. From the ground he was standing and talking on, to the merchant, and then to the edge of the docks. He watched the flip about mid air, and then with much surprise, he watched the large shark shoot out of the water. Dear lord he had never seen something so HUGE.
He stood still as it splashed back into the water, as he looked back down at him. "... Look, at this point I just want recruits so I can head back to familiar territory."
Post by The Tidal Trickster on Nov 30, 2013 5:54:18 GMT -5
Well in that case, ya might wanna go talk to people. You'll find most of 'em in bars or at the docks... though the bar we were just at won't be calmin' down any time soon. Pirates fight fo' a while.
Fizz looks down at Chomper as the great shark hits the water again. That wouldn't be even close to filling up Chomper's hunger, but there was a fair bit of fish in the port waters usually, so it didn't matter much.
Ain't much I can do to help ya out, I'm kinda the mischievous fella of Bilgewater, people don't exactly trust all I say even though they do respect me. So... guess I'll leave ya to it. Have fun.
Fizz makes a noise that seems to be either too low or too high for the human ear, since none of the sailors around ever hear it. Chomper then leaps up once more, and Fizz hops on his trident, and launches himself and the weapon towards Chomper, landing on the Dragon Shark's back and disappearing into the waters to hunt lunch for themselves.
