September 9, 23 CLE
Ruins were a favored shelter for the few who stalked the burning wasteland that was Urtistan. Unfortunately for the nomads that sought refugee in the outcropping of ruins near the coast of Urtistan would be in for a rather surprising turn of events. The ruins that they associated with protection and safety were about to become the hunting ground of two servants of The Ruined King. Granted, these two servants were rather reluctant with working together due to a mutual dislike if not hatred. However, this was no excuse to prevent them from serving their king, and failure was not an option. After all, failure meant that the King would not be able to leave the Shadow Isles, which would render their entire trip pointless. The Sadistic Prince looked up from behind a rock to see the ruins that he would soon be tainting with his presence. His comrade had arrived earlier than him, of course his comrade had the advantage of a horse. Koroza had no idea where Thraxtir went, but hoped that his comrade did not disturb the nomads or charge into the ruins recklessly. After all they had to gather as many of these nomads before they all scattered into the wide wasteland known as Urtistan.
Koroza identified two sentries watching the area around the ruins, they were lightly armed. One wielded a sword and shield the other a spear, besides that he did not see any other combatants. They would not pose a challenge, and would only slow the two reaper class undead for a brief moment. Granted, by this point Koroza was thinking of how he had missed the feeling of burying his axe into another human's skin. Granted, he could not feel their slick red blood flow down his skin, but he did get a rather sick and twisted excitement out of the pain of others. Granted, he had been ordered by Hecarim that he was not to kill anyone. However, Koroza had a scheme that may allow him to spill blood, all he had to do was fool Thraxtir.
A task that would be easy enough, if Koroza used his trick. However, for now The Sadistic prince would wait for his comrade to return so they could briefly discuss a plan to capture as many nomads as possible.
Your death will not be a waste...it will bring me great pleasure.
Thraxitar appeared next to his fellow general, his mount nowhere in sight. He had scouted the ruins while he waited for Koroza to arrive. It was relatively easy to remain unnoticed, the sentries looked to wild animals. And now that Koroza had arrived, they could discuss strategy.
Thraxitar hopped he would listen, but that seemed unlikely. He doubted Koroza understood subtlety very well.
"There are no more than 20 in there, with only enough weapons for about 8. The ruins make for a poor defensible terrain. We can overwhelm them easily. We can surprise them if we take out the sentries. We can do this quickly and quietly and with no blood-shed." He emphasis on the no-killing, hoping he would listen.
He was prepared to move as soon as Koroza was. The first conquest of a long campaign.

Koroza turned to see his fellow general appear beside him without his mount. His comrade explained the situation revolving around the ruins, they lacked many armaments, and very few bodies. Thraxitar was right, the two reaper class undead would have no trouble overwhelming the twenty individuals in the ruins. However, his general seemed focused on following Hecarim's orders to the very last word. This caused The Sadistic Prince to grunt a bit, and shake his head. He still had an idea of how he could spill blood this day, but he would have to separate himself from Thraxitar for that plan to work. However, he had a rather cunning idea to possibly do so.
The undead general glanced over the cover that he was using before looking back to Thraxitar. "I purpose you take your mount and ride around to the opposite side. I'll give you three minutes to ride around, before commencing the harvest. We push the nomads toward the center, and round them all up there. Should they try to escape a different direction, you can ride out and gather any lucky stragglers." With that said he would hoist his axe over his shoulder waiting for his comrade to either take action and follow the plan or protest.
Your death will not be a waste...it will bring me great pleasure.
Koroza's words were met with a baleful glare. "This is no harvest, merely a collection. The humans can do us no harm. We can intimidate them easily, without violence."
With a gesture, his mount returned to him, wreath in a mane of spirit fire. He saddled up again, turning to lead his horse to the other side. He faced Koroza one last time. "Not a single drop of blood Koroza, or you will have to answer to The King as to why we failed." He then left his partner, settling himself on the other side, waiting for the time to pass.

"If I ever need an adviser about my word choice, then I will be sure to find you first." Koroza would hiss, he found his comrades presence intolerable at this very moment and wished to put his plan into action. He would simply nod at Thraxitar's warning about bloodshed, before watching him ride off. The moment his comrade left, Koroza would countdown the time. After three minutes, The Sadastic Prince would begin his approach toward the ruins. The two sentries would approach slowly, and ordered him to halt. They were naturally cautious to outsiders, especially ones that looked rather strange, then again they knew first hand what the lands of Uristan would do to someone. Regardless they approached him with their weapons drawn and at the ready. Koroza came to a halt as they ordered, and they would ask his business. It was here that he would smile, and take one step forward bringing the bottom of the hilt into the closest sentry's stomach. The man gasped as the spike pierced his skin, the blow was not deep, therefore the man would live. However, within moments he began to feel his body freeze up as the toxin took effect.
The other sentry was stunned for a moment to long, and before he could holler a warning he was struck by the flat of Koroza's axe. The blow rendered the man unconscious. Less than a minute later, a scream could be heard, but it was cut short due to same toxin that afflicted the first sentry. Koroza searched the now fleeing peasants, and set his sights on an old man and a younger man who darted off to the right. Yes....the old man would work....he would work quite well.
Your death will not be a waste...it will bring me great pleasure.
After waiting for three minutes, Thraxitar sprung his mount into the ruins. The sentries on his side ran in fear before him, the sight of the un-dead warrior on a horse of flame to much for their nerve to handle. The cowards fled towards the centre, hoping that the others would aid them in defeating the monster coming for them.
This only served to panic them, sending them into mass panic as Thraxitar entered the central room. His horse gave a loud neigh, silencing them. "Nomads of Urtisan" he addressed them from atop his horse. "You are now subjects in service of the Ruined King of the Shadow Isles. Serve with honour and loyalty and you shall be rewarded. Those that flee or betray him will be dealt with. Severaly."
None moved, none spoke. They knew they stood no chance of escaping or stopping them. All they could do was accept it and try not anger their captor. His part was done. Now he waited for Koroza. Maybe the fool somehow got himself killed again.

The nomads would fall into line, perhaps knowing that they were unable to defeat the general in combat, much less outrun him. However, Koroza did not appear in the center, maybe Thraxitar's wish was granted. Suddenly Koroza's voice could be heard from only a short distance away behind a partly ruined wall. "YOU DAMNED OLD FOOL!" he roared, apparently one of these nomads did something to upset him. Once his fury was ignited there was not telling what the Sadistic Prince would do, in fact out of all the Undead loyal to The Ruined King Koroza was perhaps the most likely to fly off the handle and let his anger dictate his action. Koroza stood over a fallen elder of the nomad, whose hand was shaking as he dropped a chunk of ruins looking at the younger man's skull that was caved in from a blow with the chunk of ruins.
"No...I don't...I didn't mea-" The old man began until Koroza snarled at him causing the man to shut his mouth as The Sadistic Prince pressed his boot into the man's chest. To be honest the general did not give a damn what this old man's excuse was, but he did care about the fact that he was interfering with his master's mission. He would look down and give the old man an evil grin, "You have proven yourself a liability and nuisances to my master's mission. The only punishment for such foolishness is....death." With that said the old man began to beg for his life, but they fell on deaf ears, as Koroza rose his axe above his head. There was still time to stop him from disobeying orders, but at this point in time he planned to carry out what he saw a justice.
Your death will not be a waste...it will bring me great pleasure.
As soon as Thraxitar heard Koroza's yelling, he sprung his horse to move quickly to his location. The mad dog had lost his temper and it was only a matter of time before the blood began to flow. He would make sure to stop that.
He turned the wall to see Koroza stepping on a older man, axe raised ready to slice him in twain, The body of a younger boy lay close by, his head caved in. A dark fury rose inside of the Betrayed. His eyes eyes burned with hatred as he look at Koroza. He knew the man had no honour, but kiiling a boy and an old weak man? He was truely despicable.
"KOROZA YOU DAMN FOOL!" he yelled at him. He tossed one of his chained scythes towards him, hoping to catch the axe before it killed the old man.

Koroza began to swing, when he heard his "ally" call him a damn fool, and his axe suddenly was restrained by the chain of his scythe. The Sadistic Prince glared daggers at his comrade, the only fool around here was him, and he would keep his axe firmly in his grip while shouting at the undead who stopped him, "You're the fool here! This peon killed one of his fellow nomads, in an attempt to save himself from capture or wrath. Or perhaps the heat and conditions finally got to him and he embraced the insanity that has always lurked within the depths of his mind! Whatever the case! HE is the problem here and not I!" He doubted that his comrade would believe such words, unless evidence was presented. However, he had his evidence, plenty of evidence by the end of this dispute he was sure that his "ally" would have no choice but to agree with him. They would see who the real fool was by the end of all this!
Your death will not be a waste...it will bring me great pleasure.
Thraxitar jerked his chain back, pulling Koroza away from the fallen man and untangling their weapons. He then dismounted his horse and approached the human.
He pick the man up to his feet, brushing some of the dirt off him. "Old man, did you kill this boy?" he asked, pointing to the body. His voice was eerily calmed as opposed to his last words. "Do not lie to me human." His yellow eyes glowed as he stared down to him. His large figured imposed onto the smaller human, the chains on his scythes making soft clinking noises as the hung from his waist. He had no way to tell if the man would lie, but fear was a great motivator.
It was possible that this human killed the boy out of fear for what might befall them, but this situation seemed too convenient for Koroza. He wouldn't rule out the possibility that his fellow general had some hand in this situation.

Koroza's dead face scowled as he was yanked away from the elder nomad. It was a clear cut case, blood was even on the old man's hand from the splatter when he struck the boy with the stone. However, Koroza chose to remain quite as his comrade tried to discover the apparent truth. The old man was about to thank his savior until the other one picked him up, and began to threaten him and interrogate him. The undead general threat seemed to have worked as the elder man began to speak, obviously quite frightened, "Y-ye..no..I...I..I don't know. I had the r-rock, but wh-why would I?" The elderly man trailed off. Did he even know what happened, but he did not seem to recall what occurred exactly. At this Koroza snorted, before reiterating what he had said before.
"The old senile fool did it, I saw it with my two eyes. He picked up the rock there in his madness and struck the boy down. Why you continue to think I'm lying, is because of your hatred of me, Thraxitar. You wouldn't let such a petty thing ruin your oath to the king, would you? After all if this fool snaps anymore than he has, then it will be your fault for not letting me take care of him now." Koroza would say arrogantly, but he would not end there, no there was one last thing he could say. "Though, I suppose you broke your oath once, who is to say that you won't do it again?" He would add with a sly grin growing on his face, that was the one button he knew Thraxitar hated to be pressed. It was a button that Koroza would press every single day in his sadistic manor. He loved to see his comrade squirm with hatred, rage, and bitterness. After all, he could not refute such a statement...unless he did it with force, but he would never put a grudge above the king's mission. He had an oath....
Oh wait.....
Your death will not be a waste...it will bring me great pleasure.
"Two madman tell me different things. Which one do I believe?" he asked Koroza. He watched the old man grovel at his feet, full of fear and panic. "The man will be under my watch. The King will decide his fate." One was already dead, he would not allow another. If the man was the killer, he would kill no more under his watch. But he would also keep an eye on Koroza, lest his madness continued.
Then Korza brought up his oath. Pure raged filled Thraziar's eyes. His grip in his weapons tightened, his fists shaking in rage. He brought the scythe up, poised to attack. After a few seconds he struck his weapon into one of the walls, toppling it with the force of the swing.
He looked back to Koroza, a cold rage overtook him now. "You will not provoke me dog." he spat at him, his voice rich with bile. He turned back to the old man. "Come human, you do not leave my sight now." He motioned the man to follow him. "Clean up the body, lest the other find out you couldn't stop a crippled old man from killing a child."

"The one who your king trusts obviously." Koroza would reply, "Granted, it has become apparent to me that you are incapable of recognizing the obvious. Otherwise, you would have handed him to me so we could get on with this mission." However, Thraxitar decided that he would be watching over the man, and that the King would decide his fate. The sadistic hunger within Koroza screamed in the undead's general mind, though Koroza's face remained unchanged. That was a good thing about being Undead, you could always hide what you're thinking behind a cold and dead stare. Literally. "I hope your watch is better than your oath and word. Otherwise the punishment shall fall on your head when he kills again."
That would be his last jab before noting the rage in his "comrade's" eyes. The grip on his battle axe tightened and slight grin crossed his face. Yes, such anger...such wrath. It was clear to a man corrupted by the sins of violence, and those eyes promised the most excitement and pleasure that he had seen in years. His legs would bend as he saw the scythe rise toward the air. His mind filled with one thought, 'Take the swing!....Take the swing! Try to kill me! Try to strike me down! Swing.....Swing...SWING SWING DAMN YOU!'
His comrade would not satisfy the desires to exchange blow as he planted the scythe into the wall. The sinful hunger would let out another cry of rage as another chance of satisfaction had passed once again. He would remain silent and allow the old man to walk away with Thraxitar. The old man picked up his pace to match that of the undead general's it was clear that the man did not want to be around Koroza.
As Thraxitar walked away he would hear a section of the ruins shift and crumble. A pile of stone now claimed the spot where the young man's corpse once laid. An improper burial, but it would serve its purpose. Koroza would fall behind the nomad's in back, leaving Thraxitar to lead the rest to their destination. However, in the back of the group.....a scheme would hatch in the mind of the Sadistic Prince.
Someone....would rue this day.

Your death will not be a waste...it will bring me great pleasure.
Koroza would not have very long to think, for a mighty predator was watching from above. So, the other undead had sent forth these two ... Either they were the strongest of their kin, or they were but fodder, expendable foot soldiers to test the mettle of what few villagers were within. He would assume the latter, but then why would the one carry such a powerful weapon with him...Unless it was unknown to their leaders....Regardless, it was an element that he must remove.
The mighty dragon folded in his wings, plummeting to the ground at high speed like a missile intent on impaling the undead below. These two undead soldiers would then hear a leathery snap as Daegorath's wings unfurled from his sides, flapping to slow his momentum before spreading wide as the creature circled the undead scouts from a few hundred feet in the air. The creature's amber eyes seemed to bore into the hole where Koroza's soul used to be as his deep, growling voice projected over the two below. "Relinquish the Axe, child of undeath, and I may yet permit you to retain your unlife. You do not truly know what it is you wield."
The dragon would continue to circle, awaiting an answer from Koroza...Should he offer none, it would be his loss. However, both seemed at least capable warriors. It would be foolish to descend onto the ground until both were but ash upon the wind...Or at least unconscious.
The loud boom of the dragons wings snapped Thraxitar's attention to the skies. A sense of pure bewilderment crossed him as he saw the great creature in the sky. He had heard legends of such creatures in his mortal life. Great winged reptiles, that commanded the rune magic of the world. He never believed they were real, much less see on with his own eyes.
The old man next to him was also paralyzed in awe of the beast as well. And then it spoke to Koroza. He wanted the mad man to relinquish his beloved Axe. Thraxitar soon feared that his might be a very bad situation. It was very unlikely that Koroza would hand over his axe. There was no way the two of them could fight this thing off. He would wait to see how this would unfold. Perhaps the dragon would rid him of his problem without even knowing it.
