James nodded as Lucas described his fighting style. "Yes, I am a formation fighter. Proud member of Fire Company." He thumped his chest briefly before taking a bite of his sandwich. "Defense is my specialty; best corporal in the unit in my day. Still waiting for re-assignment anyhow." He thought over Lucas's question. "I'm no strategist; I'd follow orders and do my best to defend my commanders. Possibly adopt a circle formation, force them to engage us instead of letting them flank us so easily.
I will meet one someday...and that day will either be the best or worst day of my life.

Lucas thought and took a bite while he listened. Unfortunately: "James, you are missing the issue. You fight well enough on the defensive, but that leaves you unable to do something important. What stops an enemy from turning a shield to you and going for your Captain? You need to be able to demand an enemy's attention. Being inbetween your enemy and his target is no good if you just let him walk around you."
Lucas took a swig of his drink and went on in a different direction.. "Fire company, huh? Fascinating name. Is there any reasoning behind such a out of the ordinary name?"

James nodded thoughtfully. "True, true...even though with our commander, I doubt that would be a problem." He put his sandwich down and smirked. "You wonder why we're called Fire Company? Simple. Shyvana is our knight captain. No one's more fiery than she is, not in Demacia."

"Really? The Shyvana?" "Well I must admit I did not see that coming. What are the odds of that..." Lucas barely realises that James doesn't know what he means by 'the odds'. "I assume your captain has been treating you well?" After asking this he took a bite. He had planned to check up on Shyvana, but never actually went through with it, so James piqued his interest for sure.

James blinked when Lucas mentioned odds, but didn't push on it just yet. When he asked about how well she was treating him, he nodded and leaned back a bit. "She is a fair captain, and a good leader. It's a pity the nobles don't like her; she deserves twice the standing in the army that she has. But she's earned my loyalty, for certain." He smirked and took a quick drink.

"That's good to hear. I'm sure she apreciates having a loyal soldier like you under her command." Lucas spoke, after which he took another bite. Not certain what more to talk about, he decided to continue eating, hoping the silence would signal it was James' turn to bring up a topic.
