July 26th 23CLE Bandle City Special Forces HQ
After having talked to the mayor, the next step was talking to the lady who gave her orders, Marshall Delphine. And so Tristana had come to the headquarters of the Bandle City Special Forces. Tristana entered the building, walked towards the front desk, and requested: "Hello, Can I please see with Marshal Delphine?"

The receptionist looks up from his desk as Tristana enters, though his attention seems to still be on his work. He nods at her request and pulls out his notepad, scanning it for a moment before clearing his throat. "Ah, yes, Private Tristana. It seems the marshal has been expecting you. If you just head down Hall B over there, you'll most likely find her in her office. It'll be the fourth door on the left. Just knock and be patient, she may be in the middle of an important communiqué. I'll let her know you're here as well."
After pointing to the indicated hallway, the receptionist presses one of the numerous buttons on the wall next to him, each labelled with a letter and number. A little light turns on for a second above the B6 button when it is pressed, which immediately shuts off as his finger releases. Immediately he returns to his writing, paying no further attention to the Megling Gunner.

Tristana didn't see Delphine expecting her coming, but realised Dennison probably informed her by now. She kindly answered the receptionist. "Thank you, good day to you." And then promptly entered hall B. As she counted the doors and reached the fourth, she quietly knocked the door twice with the back of her hand. And then she would just have to wait, and stand at attention.

Delphine takes her time getting to the door, currently focused on filling out a report of some kind which the contents will be known to an important few and nobody else will care about. After a couple of minutes she pauses her writing to check her door, appearing very stern and professional before Tristana. "Ah, there you are, Private Tristana. I was expecting you to be here yesterday, but I guess everyone has their delays. Mayor Jadefellow said you wanted to speak with me?"

Tristana saluted the officer "Greetings, Marshall Delphine. Sorry, I was preparing what to say. I wanted to talk about my status as a champion and what is happening everywhere. I'm sure the mayor has informed you of this already, but I was wondering if the Institute of War could allow me to... do more. With your permission, ofcourse."
Tristana hoped she presented her case clearly. She had practised in solitude, to not upset any other commandoes. She'd tell them when she knew she could go, no reason to upset them over something that might not be happening after all.

Delphine folds her arms and hums, leaning to the right a little. She understood Tristana's situation, though what exactly the gunner wanted to do... she wasn't sure. "Come on in, private. We should probably talk about this in my office instead of standing here."
The marshal turns around and makes her way back behind the desk, seating herself and motioning for Tristana to take the seat across from her. "Now, how about you elaborate on how you want to... 'do more' for the Institute." Thinking a bit further, Delphine doesn't mention how she may have a new mission for Tristana ready.

Tristana followed Delphine into her office, and took the seat she was appointed to. Thinking a bit about her question, she responded: "Well, I guess they don't need someone to just lay waste to everything, So I think I'm going to end up escorting someone or something. I don't really know, I didn't think that far ahead. I just didn't want to sit still and shoot at dummies while the situation just keeps getting worse." Tristana really didn't know what she'd do. Her expertise was shooting and hitting things, which doesn't get you far in creating peace, she realised.

The marshal folds her hands and stares Tristana in the eyes, rarely blinking or showing a different expression. Internally the gears are turning, finding a quick way to implement the Megling into a plan that could turn out to be very beneficial for the city as a whole. Her arrival and request to leave is actually very convenient. Of course, she didn't need Tristana knowing this, so after a brief moment of silence Delphine sighs and drums her fingers on the desk once.
"Alright, Tristana. Seeing as how you're adamant about finding a better way to be useful, I might be able to squeeze you in on a courier run I've scheduled to travel to the Institute. You will accompany one of our couriers as a member of a small bodyguard team, and are welcome to remain at the Institute when you arrive should they find a use for you. While you are there, you will gather as much information as you can on major recent events that are occurring around Valoran and the outlying islands. I will continue to send regular couriers to gather your collected data if you end up staying, and once you have exhausted your welcome or I have more important need of your service, you will immediately return to Bandle. Is that understood?"

Tristana listened carefully. It was not that complicated. Protect courier, stay at destination, gather information, report to courier at regular intervals, and return once they get sick of her or Delphine calls her back.
"Roger that, Marshall." Tristana thought for a while. There were some issues that needed clarifying. "Actually... Can I ask some questions?"
Tristana prepared the following questions, hoping the Marshall would agree to let her ask. "Do I leave with my signature weapon, or something more... subtle?"
"What do I tell the Institute?"
"If they decide that I'm required somewhere else, say, Demacia. What do I do then?"

Delphine turns to pull out another small form and start filling it out while Tristana thinks. As soon as the Megling is ready to speak, she turns back and gives a nod in approval, sticking the end of the pen between her teeth to hold it while she quietly flips through more papers. She thinks over the first question for only a moment before pulling the pen out and returning her attention to Tristana.
"You should probably bring your cannon along, considering that you are most useful with it and you never know what kind of tasks the Institute will have for you. That being said, you should also bring a sidearm along that fits nicely in your uniform that you can rely on as a backup."
The next question also takes her a moment to think over, and she doesn't have to think very hard. "Tell them that you are there as a representative of Bandle City while the matches are shut down, and you would like to provide aid in any way that you can. You should also inform them about your mission to collect information about recent events and ask that they provide you with any important details as soon as possible so that you may inform the couriers when they arrive."
The last question catches Delphine a little off-guard, and she thinks for several minutes, placing the pen between her teeth again and rotating it while she does so. "If they do decide to relocate you, then you'll have to ask them to inform the couriers themselves while you are away. Our couriers can't travel just anywhere. If you are able, it would be nice if you could still send information you receive to the Institute for them to pass on to our couriers. However, if you are relocated to Demacia, then the couriers will be able to meet you there instead, seeing as it is on the route to the Institute. If none of this is possible, then I'm afraid we'll just have to find another way to gather information like before. In either case, I will allow you to continue your operations with the Institute while they need you."
Delphine makes a few more notes on the form, then hands it to Tristana with a slight smile. "If you ever need proof of your mission, these signed documents will do the trick. Always keep them on you, and do your city proud, private."
After Tristana takes the form, the marshal will turn back to her papers, though she'll pause and look up, showing a little bit more of a smile this time. "Oh, and do stop in to catch up with Ambassador Poppy while you're passing through Demacia. She doesn't get many visitors from Bandle these days, I'd imagine, and she may have plenty of information to give you before you even arrive at the Institute."

"Roger that, Marshall. Requesting permission to leave and prepare for the operation." Tristana saluted again, and waited for the marshall to send her off. She'd have to pack a lot of stuff, and say goodbye to the Meglings for a while. But she'd help get the League of Legends running again, and Bandle would be safer with the knowledge they'd get. It was only too bad Teemo wasn't arround to say goodbye to.

Tristana got up from her chair and moved towards the door. "Goodbye Marshall." Were the last words that had to be said before she left the room and made her way back to the Megling barracks. She'd have a lot of packing to do. Not to mention, a lot of goodbyes to say.
