Name: John Cole
Alias:
Class: Rogue
Race: Human
Age: 26
Occupation: Mechanic, Vigilante, Irelia's student
Residence: Piltover
Alignment: Neutral Good
Weapons
Retracting Sword
A creation of his own, when retracted it’s just a handle. But when a trigger on the front of the handle is squeezed it causes the mechanism to either extract or retract the blade. When extracted the cross-guard opens, causing the blade to extend. The opposite effect occurs when retracted. (Think like a telescopic cylinder, and yes Dishonored inspired, this might happen once or twice)
Retractable Bo-Staff
The non-lethal way of taking someone down. When retracted it stands at about 2 feet length, when extracted it's at about 6 feet length. The mechanism is activated once again by a trigger.
Handheld Crossbow
His crossbow was also modified. It’s small enough to be easily concealed, and has an interesting load mechanism. When fired it rotates, loading the next bolt in automatically. While part of him would like to use a hexgun, the fact is a crossbow solves the noise issues while still remaining effective at range combat. (YES INSPIRED BY DISHONORED. I COULDNT HELP IT ;-;)
Statistics
Firing Type - Semi-Automatic
Feed System - 4 Bolt Cylinder
Ammo Types
Normal – An average bolt
Tranqs – Only for use on NPCs, wouldn’t be nice to use on some poor player character
Noisemaker – Makes a whistling noise when shot, distractions!
Water - Used to extinguish torches and lanterns.
Armor
Face Mask
The mask he wears was a thing of his own making, partly as a disguise. But mostly to give him a couple of advantages in a sense over others. It has optics as well as a few other labeled attachments and the like.
Vision Modes
Three Optics – Short, Medium, Long (I’d use actual magnifications but I can’t find an easy way to memorize how they’d work D: ))
Rangefinder – Used for exactly as it says, has little marks that uses the average height of a human to help find how far they are.
Shades – Too damn bright
Attachments
Flashlight – Basic headlamp, it also has an optional red filter which gives off a lot less light and is of course stealthier.
Two-way radio – An earpiece in the mask and another microphone located inside the mask allows him to stay in contact with others, mainly Erica.
Filter – A basic round filter attached to the bottom right, provides protection against both magical and chemical gas.
Items
Smoke Bomb
Provides concealment whenever needed.
Gas Bomb
A smoke bomb filled with irritants, very much like tear gas. Causing the eyes to tear up and difficulty breathing.
Grappling Gun
Used to scale vertical objects, first pull of the trigger fires the hook and line and the second reels it in. Holding the trigger slows the reeling mechanism.
Battery
A pack that goes on his back, hard to describe but best way to describe is the Universal Charger from Metro. It has a gauge and everything and yes to charge it you squeeze the trigger till the gauge hits full and bam, power. It keeps both the mask (attachments) and wristpad running.
As far as actual fighting, he usually tries to avoid direct conflict and instead either surprise or avoid his enemies completely. While he can parry and dodge blows it’s still safer that way. To add to it he will use sometimes underhandy tactics to gain the upperhand because as one put nicely. What’s the point if the enemy does it too? I’m not going to die because I didn’t take advantage in a fight.
He will almost always non-lethally dispatch foes, and to that he is equipped with a telescopic bo staff. His methods of course vary but if caught by surprise he will attempt to choke them out till they are unconscious, if of course that fails he can also whack them around a bit with said staff or if he actually gets them into a limb lock he may attempt breakage of said limb. Whatever pacifies his opponent in the end. He also carries a few tranq bolts for the crossbow (On that note I will not use said bolts on OC’s/Champions, wouldn’t be fun. Only poor poor NPCs would have to suffer through it.)
Soon to be receiving training from Irelia.
Relationships
Erica Harrison
Adopted child, friendly
Irelia
Under training from her.

Description
An average build man with brown hair and eyes standing at about 5’9. He’s usually wears leather clothing, a hood and a coat over his leather to hide any weapons he has on him when on the job. Off the job of course he wears a shirt, vest and pants.
The picture is basically about right, except he wears a full mask, made of metal :3
Mask: His own creation. A full face mask. It’s equipped a few extras and of course has a filter just incase he operates in an area with not so satisfactory conditions air wise. It also has optics for zooming. (Not on women’s butts that would be bad) On the side is where two wires attach to. The wires themselves come from his wristpad. They provide him with a very basic heads-up-display. (By basic I mean basic) Last but not least is a camera, used for intelligence gathering or when proof of his target being dead is needed.
Wristpad: Another of his own, equipped with a few rudimentary features, including a compass and map. (No it doesn’t show his location, that would be silly)
Camoflauge!
Everyone knows the best way to hide is to break up your outline.
Black – Used for night time
Woodland – Greens, blacks, browns. Perfect for a walk in the woods.
Arctic – Whites and such.
Biography
Born to Faye and Edward Cole, an upper middle-class family in Piltover on April 3rd 3BLE. Shared owners of a small hobbyist shop in the central part of Piltover. When he was nine he was taken with his parents on a trip to Ionia. It was something they had apparently wanted to do but never got the chance due to the shop. But luckily they were able to find someone who could handle things in the interim and decided to head out early 6 CLE.
The trip went off spectacularly it was everything the Cole family had hoped for, and was a nice difference from the usual hustle and bustle of Piltover. What they didn't expect though, was to end up caught up in the Noxus invasion of Ionia. Any attempts at leaving the island were about impossible due to the Noxians quickly blockading ports and they were quickly forced to flee north in an attempt to avoid the slaughter.
9 CLE, now twelve years old, they hide in a small village, keeping the young John busy with books on mechanics and the like, until one tragic day during the summer, a bandit raid hit the village and quickly overran anyone who tried to fight, his father one of them. The remainder of the survivors were quickly gathered up, mostly women and children. Unspeakable things were done to the women and the prettiest ones were taken, his mother included. Just like that they were gone. The Piltoverian boy would never forget the face of the leader of the group. He would leave the village and travel along the road with no real direction or purpose, only the thought of putting himself as much distance as possible from what he considered hell itself. It was then that some luck hit him, an older man, obviously a warrior of some kind based on his wear passed his way. To the man it was odd, why was this child alone? And who was he? He obviously wasn't native. After some quick questioning and learning of what happened, he decided to take the child into his town nearby. He lived in a small home on a hill with a wife and three children, two sons and one daughter. They raised him as best as they could and even indulged him in learning how to fight. Though he wasn't the best and appeared to fail many of his tests. But he never gave up, he felt a drive to get revenge for what had happened to him. But that time wouldn't come...
13 CLE, now 16 the open fighting had stopped, making any attempts almost meaningless. But he still felt he had some type of promise to fulfill for his parents, and so with the ports open, he returned to Piltover to get some schooling done, and in secret he would begin development of a few new "toys" so to speak. 17 CLE, finishing his schooling and with a few new gadgets in hand, he returned to Ionia with a few goals in mind. The main thing was to find the bandit that killed his father through any means necessary, and kill the bastard. Secondary was to see how the occupation was going and possibly stir some trouble, but he didn't really feel ready for something that big. The trip was easy enough, he arrived in the Placidium and got himself a stay at some tavern down the road, it was secluded enough and obviously made for travelers on the road. Now ready to begin his mission, he donned the mask he made specifically for this reason, mainly in an attempt to semi-hide his identity, and hunted down any leads he found. Which ended up with him taking down numerous other bandit groups and sometimes just a petty criminal or two. Of course he did have a few failures as not every bandit group is the same and some were actually tough individuals.
This would continue until 19 CLE when he decided to make his first foray into occupied territory, following a lead he had gotten from someone. It would take him to a small burnt out farm where some bandits had apparently taken over, this had to be it. With night fast approaching he scouted out the area and made a count of about twelve bandits strong, possibly more inside. Once ready he made his way through, silently taking out any bandit he came upon. Now sure that the outside had been cleared out neatly enough, it was time for the tough part. The house itself which was now his target was two floors and actually quite quaint. His eyes gazed upward as he saw the perfect entryway, a circular attic window that had been left just slightly ajar. A grin formed behind his mask as he pulled out the grappling gun, aimed and fired... The hook caught on to the window sill and another press of the trigger reeled him upwards. Once within distance, he grabbed on and peered inwards. Nothing but darkness greeted him, odd though why leave a window open? Pocketing his tool he climbed inside slowly and quietly, his feet lightly touching the ground as he crouched and made his way to the hatch. That's when he saw it in the corner, two little eyes staring back at him, obvious fear in them, and an outline that was way too small to be a bandit. A child? Here? Was she hiding up here the whole time? He pressed a finger against the mouth of his mask and made his way over to her. Of course what he didn't realize was that this just frightened the child more, and who wouldn't be? A figure dressed in black and wearing a mask with a scary design on it? She flattened herself in the wall as if maybe if she pushed hard enough she could actually sink into it. It was then that it hit him, he sighed at his own stupidity and slowly raised the mask and gave her a friendly smile. While it didn't do as much as he wanted, at least she wasn't screaming or raising any alarms. He quietly pointed towards her and then the ground as if saying "Stay here." Not that she needed to be told this of course, she was pretty willing to cooperate with the scary man who just came in threw an attic window. He gave another smile and opened the hatch, looking through and once sure it was clear, he slowly lowered himself to the ground and closed the hatch again. A clean sweep later and he returned to the attic, the girl still there and in the same corner. He gave a wide grin and finally spoke, explaining everything to her, why he was here, who he was. She returned the favor, giving her sad story. She was alone and the bandits made sure of that. Rather than just leaving her, he decided instead to bring her along and quickly bonded with her. Erica her name was. It was weird though for an instant he almost saw flashes of himself in her. No parents, alone in the world. Maybe they could be alone together?
By 20 CLE the Noxians had pulled out and he decided to take a break from his hunt to go back to Piltover for awhile. By 23 CLE, he had decided to once again go back with some slight improvements to the various gear he has acquired over the years.
(Born to a middle class family in Piltover, he was a natural born mechanic. Always around his parents works, finding out what made them tick. At thirteen he’d decide to take apart and then put back together one of their machines. While this of course caused some trouble they were still proud that he seemed to easily grasp such things and started a savings fund using their profit to send John to the Academy to hone his skills. At sixteen tragedy struck, he was riding with his parents in a carriage to Freljord when it was hit by a bandit ambush. Both of his parents were killed and he was left for dead and later on found by a Freljordian. At his return to Piltover, he would sell the house and move to an apartment with whatever he kept. Now living off of his parents profits from their creations, he focused on something else. While crime in Piltover wasn’t a problem. It still was in other areas, smaller villages for instance. He felt compelled to make sure no one else had to go through what he did and to that end he took his abilities and created some tools to…Basically beat up criminals. At eighteen he decided to still enter the Academy with full intention to learn as much as he could, while in his spare time he honed his fighting and agility. Then at nineteen he came upon a small farm that had apparently been pillaged and after clearing it out had come upon a small child only six at the time. The two would become almost inseparable with her sticking around him like glue. He would get the adoption papers settled and adopt her sometime after. Now twenty-two he has graduated and now works free-lance, taking out criminals while also supporting the only thing he now considers family, and will protect no matter the cost.
As far as his crime fighting, he did start out mostly killing them but, something in him changed after finding Erica, and he has decided to mostly forgo killing and instead learn how to take down criminals non-lethally.)
