The Marquesa was bustling today, an oddity for the tiny pub nestled in the corner of Bilgewater. For months the pub would remain half-full, neither popular or otherwise, quite content to remain a small gem for drunkards with 'refined' tastes. But just two days ago, as the sun set in the distance, whispers arose of Fortune's Folly entering Bilgewater territory. The Bounty Hunter was back, and the public knew what that meant. Ever since she became a champion, the landlord of Marquesa quickly made it known that his pub was the preferred pub of the 'most famed femme fatale of the seas'. And like flies to rotting fruit, the public swarmed to the pub whenever rumors swirled that she was in the vicinity, hoping to get a glance at this legendary bounty hunter.
---
Time passed, and the crowd began to forget why they even showed up in the first place. A group had gathered around a table, watching men play a game of cards; others picked at their teeth with dull knives, downing yet another drink. Suddenly, the door to the pub eased open, and a figure slid into the room. She made it barely five steps into the Marquesa before a sailor noticed her.
'It be her,' he hissed to his mate, knocking the drink out of his hand. His friend stopped mid-curse and spun around, eyes narrowing.
By the time Sarah Fortune got to the bar, the room was silent. The bounty hunter nudged an asleep drunkard off his stool, and sat on it, crossing one leg over the other. Fortune leaned forward, eyes glittering, framed by her red hair.
'Tobias,' she laughed, blowing a kiss at the landlord. 'I should get paid for how much business I'm giving you.' she smirked, throwing a look behind her at the seemingly starstruck crowd.
Tobias laughed back heartily. 'Ay, ah confess. Yarr, ah can't give yer my hard earned gold, but ah can give you a drink. 'Ow 'bout it?'
Miss Fortune scoffed, winking at the landlord. 'Take a joke, m'dear. I appreciate the free drink, and I'll take it. But as for the rest of this house, give them all a drink.' She swiveled around, batting her eyelashes at the customers. 'On me, of course.' she purred.

The cheers of the patrons in the Marquesa could be heard clearly for a good ways from the small tavern all the way down the streets. If one weren't attracted to the bar for the rumors of the famous Bounty Hunter's possible appearance to her favorite bar the shouts and cheers of the drunks and sailors alike from the tavern were sure to draw interest from any and all who could hear them. It was here that the old salt now found himself, a block or so from the tavern, noting how lively it was compared to how it normally was. Scrod was never surprised how people flocked to the famous, though he was never one of the fawning fans of any League champions or summoners in particular, he held a healthy respect for the champions as well as their achievements on and off the Fields of Justice and nothing more.
His new captain had tasked him with gathering all the big wigs of Bilgewater together, from the very champions of Bilgewater to the merchants and tavern owners for a parley and so far he had made good progress. His reputation was enough to sway many mercenaries and pirates alike and he had pull with many owners of taverns he frequented. There was however, one name on Gangplanks list of people to gather that he was not looking entirely forward to. And that name was 'Sarah Fortune'.
Scrod entered the tavern, navigating the chaos of the overly crowded tavern. Among the chaos of the pub he slipped through it mostly unnoticed as he while scanned each and every face in the tavern as he made his way through. It didn't take long, as he soon spotted a fiery red mane sitting at the bar that could only belong to the one and only Sarah Fortune and he made his way over.
"Seems ya' attract quite the crowd Miss Fortune." he said nonchalantly as he leaned on the bar next to where she sat, motioning for a drink from the bartender. He wasn't sure if she would know he was of Gangplanks crew though he doubted it would make too much of a difference. He was here to deliver a message, not stir up trouble.

Miss Fortune was making small talk with Tobias when Scrod appeared to her left. Not many people approached her, and she whipped her head to the left, sending her fiery hair tumbling into the landlord, abruptly ending the conversation. Tobias stifled a swear, and got the message, quickly bumbling to help fill the free drinks for the thirsty sailors.
She took a deep sip directly from the pitcher in front of her and slammed it down heartily, laughing in quite an unladylike manner.
'Mm', the Bounty Hunter laughed, winking at the older sailor in front of her. She did not recognize him, and she appraised him quickly. 'Everyone wants a taste of fortune.' she laughed, a not-so-innocent smirk appearing on her face.
'And you?' she asked, cocking her head curiously. 'No drink in hand? I must be keeping you from the bartender.' She looked around for Tobias, intending to call him over to give Scrod a drink.

Scrod returned Fourtune's smirk with a sly grin of his own. He couldn't help but get quite the look of her figure, and what a figure she had. He let himself drink it in, admiring her beauty though he had no intention of doing anything. Truth be told in his younger days he would've tried to make a pass at the Bounty Hunter, but he was probably old enough to be her father. That and it also went against his better judgement. And he knew damn well good judgment comes from experience, and a lotta that comes from bad judgment. "Easy there, I'm old enough to be yer' Pa. Names Richard Wiedemann, most folks know me as Scrod" he replied chuckling.
As she went to get Tobias he put up one of his large calloused hands in polite refusal, his drink could wait. "Ain't no rush, I can drink my fill on my own time. Right now I gots me a message to deliver to a number o' folks in Bilgewater - one of 'em bein' you" he told her pointedly.

Miss Fortune dropped her hand, waving Tobias away. Her emerald green eyes glinted briefly, and her attitude imperceptibly changed. She blinked once, letting her hand drop casually to her side. She smiled, pretending to brush some dust off her thigh, all the while looking at Scrod. It didn't seem like the old man was looking for trouble, but if it did arise, Shock and Awe would do the rest of the talking.
'I must have too many admirers. It must be a love letter.' she laughed breathlessly, but there was a cold edge to her voice. 'Step to, Scrod, spit it out. I'll decide if the message is indeed for my ears.'

Scrod laughed at the mention of a love letter, though the cold edge of Fortune's voice did not elude him. He had never met Sarah Fortune before but her edginess at the situation surprised him a bit, though he could've misread it and it wouldn't have been the first time. Throwing caution aside he went on as if he didn't notice her potentially hostile intentions. "Love letter? Hah! Sounds like ya' got 'em all down but nine...I ain't one to leave a lady guessin' none though."
"It's mighty simple. Captain Gangplank's callin' fer' a parley with all the big folks o' Bilgewater - yer'self included if that comes to yer' surprise any" he told her plainly, his face completely serious. At this time Tobias had made his way back and noticing Scrod without a drink had given him one without thinking which the old salt scooped up and downed as he awaited the Bounty Hunter's response.

The bounty hunter turned back to the counter, face temporarily obscured by her hair. She brought a hand to her mouth, absentmindedly biting a nail before hastily putting it down. Chewed nails showed insecurities. 'Gangplank calling a parley?' she mused, turning only her head to Scrod, watching the man finish his drink. She chuckled 'and here I thought he would be challenging me for a rematch. Never did get over the fact that I beat his arse in the GrugMug Grog Slog. Young men are so competitive.'
She sighed, and played with a wavy lock. 'Thank you for telling me, Scrod. When and where is the parley? I'll need to show up--someone's got to tell the Saltwater Scourge he's wrong, after all.' she scoffed.

Scrod finished his mug and nodded at Fortune as he wiped his beard with the back of his sleeve before answering her. "The Dead Pool on the first o' September. I reckon yer' familiar with the ship plenty. You might not be too fond o' him but what he's doin is right fer' the lot of us, s'why I call 'em Captain now. You wait n' see you might just change yer' tune." Scrod then turned away from the bar and began making his way out to continue on with his task.
