Jay had followed Rose for a bit until they had arrived at the No-Name Cafe, passing the time with smalltalk until they got there. It hadn't been a very long walk, and Jay decided to make a mental note as to where it was in case he liked it. As they came to the door, he turned to Rose with a small smile and opened the door. "So you come here often, then?"

Rose can't help but laugh at the audacity to use such a well-worn line. "As often as money permits," she jokes, nodding to him- a shared knowledge, she thought it seemed, of the thin line between poverty and rent. "The food's good, and the owner knows me- think I mentioned?"
Her shrug marks it as unimportant, though, and the waiter leads them to a table as normally as any other customer.

Jay chuckled and nodded as she brought up her knowing the owner again. "Yes, you did. I'm looking forwards to eating." As they went to their table, he took a seat and waited, taking the menu to glance over it. "What d'you usually get? I doubt anything's bad though."

"The cheese sandwich with tomato soup- simple, filling, and best of all, hot. It's under 'Jeeves' Specials' on the menu." She leans forward to point it out on his, then grins. "Jeeves is her nickname, though she consistently refuses to tell me why."

Jay nodded a bit, finding the specials section quickly. "How long have you known her? Jeeves that is." He glanced at the item Rose suggested; looked like it was in his budget, and delicious too. "And I really like the atmosphere in here. Very cozy, innit?" He lay the menu down, admiring the decor.

"Yeah, she's fond of home-y stuff. Hm... I think I've known her for four years, now? She's a friend of my mom's." Sonder's words come warm and easy- though she'd been comfortable enough in his apartment, it's clear she's more so here.

Jay smiled a bit. "That's really nice. Glad you introduced me to the place." He was thinking for a moment before twiddling a knife in his hands and smiling at her. "While we wait for the server, I mentioned getting you a job last night, didn't I...? Want to talk about it?" He put the knife down and leaned forwards in his chair a bit.
