The further comicality of the delays served to amuse Leona even further, although again, it would not be visible. The three appeared to have come rather ill prepared for their experiment. Leona entertained herself for a moment with the thought of how a Rakkor officer would have reacted had they been under his or her command, not pleasantly, to say the least. After some time and jury rigging, the three seemed to have finally set up the device.
Leona set her gaze upon the device. She took a moment to focus herself before she called the power of the sun to herself. One moment, her eyes reflected their normal state. She blinked, and when her eyes opened once more, they were glowing. Not the whites of her eyes nor pupils could be seen, they were a solid, glowing gold, as if two miniature suns took the place of eyes in their sockets. Her entire form seemed to glow.
The light coming down from the sun intensified, and with it, the temperature rose. In but a second, there was a blinding flash of light as a blast of concentrated solar power tore through the air and blasted the device. As quickly as it had come, it was over. The fine grains of sand scattered around the device were scorched to glass, and thin streams of smoke and steam curled up from the ground around it.
Leona blinked, and her eyes returned to her normal state. The glow emanating from her gradually began to subside as she released her grasp on the power she had called down to herself. She took a brief moment to examine her work. The device was still intact, as the Piltovians said it would be, with scorch marks and bits of glass surrounding it. She believed that they had the common sense to know the device may well be scalding hot, and so she said nothing, and merely stood back so that they could go about their work.

'You're a lucky bastard to not have Big G come here instead of me, or he'd have you both on latrine duty for a month,' Hyeon-Joong muttered to the other two, who started to slightly sweat.
There weren't sweating over the luck they had, however; not as much as over the fact that there was an intense heat they began to feel. Turning their heads, it was quite obvious: Leona was preparing to do her part. The next moment, the flare came down.
And at that moment, all three Medics were all too thankful to have brought their goggles.
The light was intense, and both men and the yordle recoiled from the brilliance of the flare. It was a good minute of the three removing their goggles and rubbing their eyes before they were focused back on point again, and another before they sufficiently recovered enough to be able to notice that their reader was ready to be reviewed.
Roenick scrambled over and picked up the reader, while Hyeon-Joong took out a notebook from his backpack and flipped through a few pages. Andropov went over and looked over the Yordle's shoulders, looking upon the device.
This continued for several minutes, as the Medics were all in hushed silence looking at the reader's data and seemingly comparing it to whatever was in the notebook.

Leona took a glance around at the medics as they stumbled about. Her vision was fine, being the Avatar of the Sun that she was. They, however, even with their goggles, were not so lucky. She figured they would likely recover within a reasonable period of time, and they did. After their brief bout of activity, going about reading instruments and what not, it was silent. The ambient noises of Mount Targon crept into hearing, the wind being the most prominent among them. Leona crossed her arms and waited for the medics to finish whatever it was they were doing, whilst processing thoughts of her own.

The Medics were hushed for several minutes longer, looking back and forth between the notes, when the three stopped what they were doing, and then looked at each other very deliberately.
Something was found. And it did not look good.
The three immediately began to discuss what they found with each other for several minutes. Eventually, Hyeon-Joong realized there was someone else in the courtyard, and he promptly turned around and addressed Leona, slightly red from his embarrassment.
"Apologies, miss, what we found got us so surprised and excited that we forgot you were around," he spoke rather sheepishly, "But you should probably be informed of what we've found ourselves."
"So, if what the reader and our notes from Piltover say are true, than we have both bad news, and good news. Which would you rather hear first?" He asked Leona, putting away his pencil into his breast-pocket.

Leona patiently waited as the medics discussed among themselves. Whatever they had found, it could not have been good, judging from the tones of voice she heard. She tried to pick up whatever words she could from their conversation, but to little avail, for she could make out nothing of the overall topic. After some time, the sergeant remembered that there was indeed someone else around. He spoke to her. Good and bad news? There was good news, at the least. Leona did not care in what order it was delivered, as long as she had something to satisfy her curiosity. "Whichever you wish to start with."

"Alright, I'll tell you the bad news first: it turns out that the sunlight detected by the device yielded a substance that is known to be a reactant in the formation of the virus that was linked to the disease we have discovered recently. In short, the sunlight is - beyond all doubt - the cause of this disease," Hyeon-Joong answered, with a bit of a frown. Then for just a moment, his face looked excited, a gleam of genuine hope in his eyes, before they returned to his normal slightly gaunt expression.
"The good news is what made this all the more confusing to us: we found that another element within the Sunlight - some indiscernible compound - was seemingly acting as the other reactant in some other reaction that was removing that same substance. In less arcane terms, the same sunlight that was causing the disease was also attempting to remove it," The Sergeant added, and it was here that his facial expression was one that expressed significant amounts of perplexion. The Corporals both looked over their shoulders, having heard his explanation, rather curious to see the Avatar of the Sun's reaction to this news.
The Yordle, however, promptly began to pull out a rather comparatively large book from his backpack and began to look through the pages of what appeared to be a history book. Soon after, the other man also took a knee and looked through the pages with the Yordle, as if looking for some event...

Leona had expected clarity to come to the issue when the sergeant replied, instead, she was only left more confused. He was saying that sunlight indeed was the cause, but at the same time that it was the cure? Leona furrowed her brows together, trying to understand how such a thing could be possible. Then again, they would know better than her. Perhaps not, even, considering how they were still searching through the materials they had brought with them. Leona decided to ask for clarification nonetheless. "Sunlight is both the cause and the cure for the disease? I am afraid you have left me quite confused."
