Undisclosed Day, 23 CLE.
It's a beautiful, sunny day in Piltover. Everyone is out walking, their beautiful smiles among the cheery chatter of the citizens. Just a normal day in the life of many, ruled over the peaceful serenity of Piltover. From time to time, you may see the two beautiful Sheriffs taking a patrol, making sure everything is in place. Nothing would ever come to bring harm upon the masses as long as these two, as well as many other peace protectors, are on the case to make Piltover the safest, crime-free citystate on Runeterra.
And here, we look at the life in the day of a certain inventor. For him, the day starts bright and chipper at 7:00 A.M.
07:00...
[Theme of the Institute begins playing, however, it is only a simplified version of it, containing a chiptune melody and bass. The noise echoes off the metal paneling that covers Jayce's room, amplifying the noise. Some of his less sturdy objects start to vibrate with the noise, but Jayce still snores in bed. A sound sensor detects all the excess noise, and shuts off the alarm clock. A huge airhorn blasts noise straight in his face, and then he finally wakes...]
07:30
[Dressed and ready, Jayce rubs his face to energise himself, but he can't help but yawn. Robots sprawl across the room, trying to prepare him breakfast, scrub the floors, do what he should be doing but too lazy to try. He's used to this by now, just taking a seat and enjoying his morning breakfast in silence. The Gear Gazette is placed on his table for him to enjoy while he has a meal. Alone.]
08:00
[It's time for a little work. Jayce grabs all his equipment and brings it to his usual work desk. The entire room is dark, with only the bright light of his desk lamp illuminating a single circle, where a notebook and some gadgets lay. Behind all of that, not lit by the light, are piles above piles of paper, as well as some other failed junk just sitting there, some staring at him. It may seem creepy, but Jayce is used to that by now.
Here, he works on things that Prof. Heimer gives him. A few broken gadgets, or maybe just some diagrams that needed clarification and working out. All the time-consuming processes, and since Jayce is capable and free, he agrees to share some of the Professor's workload. It takes him about 2 hours to complete his work for the day, and then he can enjoy the city as usual, with of course, occasional summons from the Institute.]
10:00
[Packed and ready to go, Jayce is out and about, carrying his signature hammer as usual. Whoa, it's colder than he thought! Jayce decided to bring out his jacket and take a stroll through the city square. On the streets, Jayce has the right to stroll with much swag, seeing all the citizens gaze him with their mouths agape in awe. Their hero passes by. Some of his female fans starts screaming as Jayce holds his head high, caught in the moment.
Like flies to a fire, fans start swarming him, shoving pieces of paper and pens for his autograph. Huh? That was odd. No one has ever asked for an autograph before. Sure, he was handsome and all... but that was beside the point, he was never this popular. Oh well, his stroll had been ruined now. With a deep sigh, the defender spends all his time signing these papers.]
16:00
[So that was why he was being smothered with papers. Some famous summoner had won many matches with him, and all these people were fans who had seen it all happen. He remembered it all too greatly, this summoner handled him with great expertise. However, the aftermath took a toll on him. He just wanted to enjoy a stroll in his great home city after a hard morning of work.
Dusk was approaching. It was time for him to head back home, with head hung low. That proud attitude of him had disappeared along with the flock of admirers. Before he went, he decided to stay at the local recreation park for a while. It wasn't too far from home, so he sat down on a bench.
All of a sudden, he heard crying. A child's tears. Without hesitation, Jayce ran to the source, seeing a little boy bawling his eyes out. Jayce held out his hand to help.]
"What's wrong, kid?" [He asked, trying to keep a friendly smile. ]
"My... my sister! She w-wath climbing up the treee!" [The boy was still crying, occasionally stammering. Indeed, up in the tree was a girl, unconscious with tears still flowing out of her face. She must have fainted out of fear. Ah, first priority was to get her out of there.]
"Don't worry kid, you'll be with your sister soon." [Jayce said with a cheerful grin, ruffling the kid's already messy hair. His hammer was set into the ground, shaft on the ground. With a few nimble movements, the rocket's boosters ignited, bringing Jayce up. For just a moment, he manages to gain enough altitude to safely bring the girl down. Heavier than she looked, Jayce had a rough landing and ended up falling on his back, the girl falling on top of him. He cushioned the fall.
The boy claps his hands, kneeling to her side. She is still unconscious of course, so Jayce nods, taking the boy's hand and carrying the girl over his shoulder.]
19:00
[The kid's house was at least a few miles away. It was a long walk just to get there. His left shoulder was aching as hell, the girl was heavier than he thought, but his mind was still refreshed, since it was a good deed he did today.
It's not what people see, but doing good for the sake of it was the best. And he knew that.]
21:00
[He had to take the late bus to get back to his workshop. It always comes at least a few hours late, since everyone is returning home, and very few buses actually go around Piltover. The front lights of his house were still on, he had forgotten to turn them off... slamming the door open, Jayce sighed, took off his coat and vest, and just decided to hit the hay on the couch.
And he snored loudly too. And until the next day...]
The Next Day
[A parcel was left on the front door. Jayce took it out and gave it a good read. It was from the kid yesterday, Hans. His sister had sustained a major injury while climbing the tree, but thanks to his help, the girl was finally in good care. A small trinket - a chain with a blue crystal emblazoned on the crest was inside.
He grinned, taking the chain and hanging it on his desk lamp, to remind him of his normal day.]
