The crash of the sea , was as constant as the rolling motion. The back and forth sickening feeling that rocked the boat had a few of it's passengers feeling sick, but not our little Heroine! Annie walked up the steps from below deck, a tall man following her. Annie, this day, felt the soft wind of the ocean brushing against her face, and through her hair, giving the red haired girl a smile as she giggled. Usually being over water for long periods of time didn't suit her, but in this case, she liked the feeling. The sun was strong, so the heat felt wonderful for her face. As for her companion, he didn't show it, but it intrigued him, floating on the Ocean that is. It was rare that the green eyed girl had him around for so long, but in this case it took so little magical energy, he couldn't object, as she quickly generated it back. In fact, from what he knew of it, he wouldn't have to worry about too much energy consumption, because Annie had spoken to him about seeing Udyr. He was the man with the Spirits screaming in his body if Tibbers remembered right. Screaming? That wasn't the right word... it was quieter... Battle roars? That was more like it. They were all very powerful spirits.... Not that the idea crossed the little girls mind, she had some odd plan of her own, but Tibbers doubted if she really understood what she was getting into, not that he did... but he recognized that strength takes time, and that was what Annie was seeking. Strength, unadulterated power. But in this form, he was disconnected to her mind, so he only heard his own thoughts. What was she thinking.
The Red haired girl, wearing a set of clothing she had gotten from one of the Ionian Girls that were on their way home, that had decided to ride the same boat as Annie and Tibbers, only thought of the heat of the sun, and the funny smell of the Ocean. These were new sensations to her really. It even made her forget of the fact she couldn't swim, as she ran to the side rails of the Ionian traveling ship, ducking under the arms and such of the crew mates as she did so. Not only did the Ocean feel amazing to her, it looked amazing. Clear blue all the way out into the rest of the world, met with that same blue below. Annie couldn't help but Admire it's beauty. She had been so excited to see the Ocean earlier, that she even forgot her headband, so her hair flew around wildly. It was getting kind of long, a short thought that crossed Annie's mind a moment, before the boat rocked a bit, Causing Annie to nearly fall backwards, before a large hand, almost as large as her entire back, braced her. It was a familiar hand. Annie looked up with a smile, ad the looming and intimidating figure of her best friend, Tibbers.
Tibbers, had to keep watching her to make sure she didn't hurt herself. After all, he was a part of her, and she was.... different from many humans. While many humans were evil, or out for power, this girl's spark of life was unique. She put his mind at ease in a way. And odd thing, considering a stoic look is almost always plastered on his face. Well not so much his face, the face of a man Annie made a doll for. He was tall, a bit hairy, standing somewhere around six feet and nine inches tall. His body was strongly built, and his hair, was fairly unkept, like it was always in a bed head state(because it was). Even with the fact Annie made the doll, the work was impressive, thought Tibbers. She even had scars and sections that looked like recovered wounds that had been stapled shut. Annie had done everything she could to recreate the man that had died in the colony those years back. Even down to the clothing. His clothing, was a long over coat, trimmed with thick fur, and he wore a linen undershirt, and to cover his lower body, he wore a pair of what seemed to be denim jeans, and a pair of sandals.
The tall form that Tibbers had been shoved into, held up the girl, and handed her a small headband with a panda on it that the small Ionian girl told him to give her. Annie squealed in delight, forcing Tibbers to smile a bit, then he pointed to her hair*"B....Change hair.... like hers?"* Annie blinked a moment in confusion. Tibbers frowned, and cupped his hands over his head in what could be seen as a slightly comedic fashion, one of his snaggled teeth poking out, his dreary brown eyes seeming confused how to properly show what he meant, and he then took his hands down, and put a hand to his chin, closing his brown eyes a moment, before coming to a realization. He pounded his right fist into the palm of his left hand in realization*"Hair buns"*
Annie understood this, and clapped happily, giving a giggle*"Good Idea!"* Tibbers gave the young girl a smile, before allowing her to take his hand, as they walked back down below deck. Shuffling past the many other passengers, and various crew mates, and even the captain went past them, though the Ionian man seemed a bit listless, as the ship seemed to be almost at shore. Although Annie didn't know, Tibbers had been up all night, and heard the captain crying below decks. It seemed he was grieving over the loss of someone. Tibbers understood the concept, but didn't know how to feel about it. His feelings typically only showed as a reaction to something happening to Annie. Hearing a man cry... made him feel, what he could only describe as blank. Similar to how he felt when he once lost one of his fellow cubs to wolves. It wasn't sorrow, it was that he didn't know what to feel.
Now, below deck, they had a small amount of time to really work, and after some fumbling, it soon became obvious that Tibbers only had hands for fighting. Something as intricate as tying Annie's hair in a bun, as funny as it was to Annie, proved to be a futile attempt. He simply didn't have the hand structure, or the know how. Eventually, he stood up and held up a finger. He walked about halfway down the isle of the underside of the ship to where the young girl and her mother was, making sure to duck his head because their section of the underside was under some of the ship's beams. He pointed to the mother, after coming into a closer contact to them, and spoke calmly, trying to form a good sentence*"Err...Help Red Hair girl to have hair buns... please?"* He was uncomfortable asking strangers things, but the woman simple nodded and stood up, waiting for Tibbers to lead the way.
After some time, the woman would be finished making the buns in Annie's hair, to which she would look in a mirror she kept in her backpack and giggled, giving a hug to the Ionian woman, who gave a surprised look at Annie, and then at the giant of a man sitting next to them, and he gave a smile. Annie spoke, her green eyes sparkling*"Thank you Mrs.....um oh no.... I'm sorry I don't remember your name*" The woman gave a light laugh and patted Annie on the head, before walking off. Annie just sat and smiled, looking at herself in the mirror now, admiring how cute the buns looked in her hair, then she had a thought. What if she used her dye? Annie took her back pack, the one she had chosen for this trip was a green and pink floral design, didn't really go with her new dress and pants, but she didn't care. She produced a small black bottle, and uncorked the cap. She dipped a finger into the bottle, just barely getting the tip of her finger wet with a think black ink like substance, before stroking her hair with said finger. And almost instantly, the black spread from her finger, covering every hair on her head. She giggled, looking at herself in the mirror. If she had darker eyes, she'd actually look like an Ionian now!.
It wasn't long now, thought Tibbers. His ears heard the sounds of people outside the boat, fishing, which if he remembered right, normally indicated a nearby shore. This human form... was useful, but it wasn't quite as battle ready as his previous form. But it heard things very well, almost as if to make up for the odd smells it honed in on, as opposed to the smells where he picked up humans, his mind registered sweet, or bad smells firstly. It could be.... annoying. But His thoughts where confirmed when several of the crew mates went above onto the deck, and began scrambling. Annie was going to go see, but Tibbers touched her shoulder, and shook his head.*"They....preparing to dock..."*
Annie's eyes lit up. This was her first time actually visiting Ionia. She wondered what the animals would be like, or what the people dressed like? Did they dress like the people on the ship, or did they dress entirely different! Annie would soon find out as the boat docked, the ship rocking a bit as it came to a rest, and the crew mates signaled everyone to come up deck, and as they did, Annie was met with a wonderful sight. It was an Ionian fishing village, filled with kids playing, women performing and sewing, men working. It was all so cool to her. To Tibbers all it meant was a new place to go, but he did note it was far more colorful than other parts of the world they had traveled, and especially more so than the Shadow lands.
They waited, as the ship mates put down the runway from the ship to the dock, and as much as Annie wanted to go first, Tibbers held her back, as other people where already lined up. Annie was getting anxious however, and pouted a bit. These people where going so slow. Tibbers sensed her anxiety, and smiled down at her, and pointed at his shoulders*"Ride?"* To which Annie gave a excited giggle to, and reached up. Tibbers reach down to the girl, and lifted her off the wooden floor of the deck, and placed her on his shoulders. Annie took a firm grip of part of his hair, as her leg rested on his shoulders. Unlike other people whom hair tugging would hurt, Tibbers only sensed the pressure, so he didn't pay it too much heed.
It wasn't too much Longer, that Tibbers and Annie got to leave the boat, Tibbers holding her legs to secure her as he walked down the long stretch of wood that was being used to let people off the boat. He really didn't have word that came to mind for it, so he just related it to a long set of wooden planks. Now as Tibbers walked down, he instantly noticed he was very out of place amongst the other passengers. For one, he stood several heads taller than a few of them, and his attire..... was very hunter like. It didn't make him uncomfortable, but he did note there where several people staring at him and the currently black haired Annie that rested on his shoulders.
He ignored the wandering eyes however, and began to trudge out towards the exit of the city, which earned a tug at his hair, causing him to stop about halfway down the street. Annie spoke leaning her head down a bit*"Why are we leaving, shouldn't the Bear man be here?"* Tibbers thought for a moment, then shook his head, holding Annie's legs of course to make sure she didn't fall off*"He's not here..... I don't hear him...."* Annie frowned a bit, wanting to play with some of the kids, but she didn't fight it. Tibbers was usually right about things like this. Annie was a tad upset she didn't get to try any of the round sweets that the other kids had, but she might could have some in another village!
So as they left the village, eyes on them, none stopped them, but it was obvious that the two were being watched for the purpose of making sure the little girl wasn't in trouble. But Annie kept her happy smile the whole way as the began to walk up the dirt road, to the grasslands beyond the village. Now the question was, would they meet anyone on this dirty path, or would they simply travel smoothly until they reached their destination?
