16CLE September 17th
Training Grounds, Midday.
Shyvana looked around the Training Grounds, it was empty so far. With a relieved sigh the Half-Dragon walked out into the sunlight that covered the ground. Standing in front of one of the training dummies she took a few breaths before striking at it with her bare fists.
Wearing her new armor she had gone to the Training Grounds to test out the mobility in it, as she had never wore any armor besides clothing before. Even then calling it clothing might have been stretching it a little. Shyvana hadn't gotten her gauntlets yet, she had been given a sword though, but had declined as she doubted the effectiveness of it. After all, a 'sword' was just a metal stick, or at least it seemed like it for the Half-Dragon.
Her new armor fit her fine, it reduced her mobility a little but it was easy to ignore. She was still far from the talented fighter she would become, but she was slowly getting closer.
The sound of feet moving into the Training Grounds stopped Shyvana's training. She had only been in Demacia for a few months so she hadn't really gotten entirely accustomed to interacting with humans besides those in the palace. Deciding that she was going to move from this dummy to a more separate location in the Training Grounds she stepped away and kept her eyes down on the ground.
Ignoring the soldiers that was about her age she walked away from her spot and crashed into another soldier as he moved to take the now free spot. As she hit the ground she heard the mocking chuckles of the soldiers around her as she got up again.
She found herself in a similar position as before in the Palace, encircled by soldiers. "What's the matter? You blind or something?" "I think she is." The words rang inside her head, but she kept silent.
"Ey, I'm talking to you, are you deaf too?" The words where mocking, but poorly chosen. It seemed to Shyvana that the soldier was urged by his comrades to continue and try and get a reaction from her.
The half-dragon muttered a 'No' as response, the soldiers wasn't really a threat to Shyvana, but they made her feel insecure and on edge.
A sudden pressure was added on her chest and she stumbled backwards. The beating of her heart increased and covered the sound of their voices as they continued to mock her. Shyvana recognized this feeling, it was the same as the one in the palace. She had to get out of here.
Turning around she looked for a exit from the soldiers circle. The air she inhaled was getting warmer as her blood slowly began to boil again as her eyes kept scanning for an exit. Shyvana stopped as she saw an opening between two soldiers, deciding that she's going to take the opportunity she moves towards it but finds herself on the ground again.
The deafening sound of her heart blocks out the voices that taunted her, the ground beneath her starts to slowly increase in temperature as Shyvana mutters one sentence over and over. "Get away from me..."
Blinking the soldiers look at each other and then Shyvana, chuckling they shake their heads. Although one of them starts to notice the increasing heat on the ground, taking it as a warning he backs up a little bit.
He was smart, moments later Shyvana's eyes start to glow in a crimson glow again, her hair seems to shine brighter in the sunlight than before. She gets up again from the ground and looks at the soldier that pushed her down onto the ground. "Get... away from me..." she whispers. This time a different soldier pushes her to the side.
The moment she strikes the ground her body envelops in flames and the soldiers back away from her. But, they did not heed her warning. Slowly the flames grow brighter and the earsplitting roar of the Half-Dragon thunders out as the flames suddenly disappeared.
The Half-Dragon had woken up from it's temporary slumber. The soldiers hurry to back away as a burst of flames escapes her maw. Shyvana stands up from the ground on her legs and lets out another earsplitting roar.
As some of the soldiers hurried out of the grounds and locked the doors behind them, sealing a few of their 'friends' inside the grounds with Shyvana they started the alarm as well, which would reach the palace and the barracks quickly.

Lux walked out of the classroom she was in, her thoughts fixed on her most recent class. Her head was whirling as she mentally recited The Measured Tread to herself, picking it apart phrase by phrase as she searched for inspiration to keep up the training she'd been given over her year or so of military training. The slender young woman continued down the hallway, lost in thought, only pausing in her contemplation when she walked past a window through which the sun shone. A ray danced over her skin and the girl paused, fascinated as her skin seemed to shimmer in response. She still had not fully mastered the knack for using the light to turn invisible. It still just happened when it happened-
Shouting intruded on her tranquility and the girl looked out the window properly, seeing a group of fairly young men pile into the courtyard in front of the window, some panicked, others downright terrified. The girl moved quickly, guided by experience of the place as she found the door to said courtyard and stepped through to intercept them.
Is that fire?
The stench, coupled with the babbling of incoherent soldiers, was enough for Lux to gather the story of what had happened: Shyvana, the newcomer, had transformed in the Training Grounds. Lux frowned once she'd heard. "I can't imagine that she'd do so without provocation," she said in such a mild tone that at least one looked away in shame. "Nevertheless, raise the alarm. I will see what I can do."
"My lady, you can't go into that place!"
"Soldier, if I do not, then Shyvana may break out. You told me that there are others in there? She is a danger to them and herself. I will see if I can talk some sense into her - and at the very least, I am the Lady of Luminosity. I have some tricks up my sleeve too. Send for assistance." When they hesitated, she rapped out, "Dismissed," using the voice she had learned from her training masters, the one that left no opening for any to argue - and promised trouble for those that did.
She turned away, exiting the barracks, and began the journey towards the Training Grounds at a comfortable jog to save time yet not to waste energy that might be needed for this showdown. The chaos and noises became louder as she approached - obviously the Dragon side of Shyvana had completely woken. In front of the entrance, Lux hesitated briefly before steeling herself and unsealing the entrance. Without further ado, she stepped through, into the Training Grounds proper.
"Shyvana!" she called, hoping to gain the other's attention. Carefully she scanned the dragon's eyes for any sign of humanity, her baton held defensively in her right hand before her. "At ease!"

The screaming sound of the alarm continued to agitate Shyvana as she moved around the training grounds along the floor. Every time one of the soldiers was out of cover a sea of flames would rush towards the spot they had been located in. Snapping her yaws shut she had managed to rip off one of the soldiers cape which now lay in rags below her tail.
Scanning for her next target she saw Luxanna. Her feral side screamed for blood while Shyvana's more civilized side was screaming on Lux to get away as quickly as possible. Right now her feral side had more control over her and Shyvana blinked at Lux's command. Her eye color swapped briefly from the clear fire red color in her eyes to the Half-Dragon's normal crimson eyes before swapping back.
"Ease?... Buuurn!!" Her draconian voice shouted back at the Crownguard. Moving around a little she moved past the training dummies, crushing some under her weight as she stepped on one of the dummies. Not finding a good angle of attack Shyvana took a deep breath as her chest expanded and fire exploded out of her maw towards Lux. It seemed though as if Shyvana had more control than she had in the beginning as there was plenty of cover for the young Demacian and future champion to hide behind.

Well, the good news was that Lux had Shyvana's attention. The bad news was...well, Lux had Shyvana's attention. The Half-Dragon's roared words made Lux flinch, but she held her ground, fearing that any further reactions of fear might incite Shyvana to attack. Lux shifted lightly on her feet, raising her baton slowly so that the dragon before her would see it. "Yes, Shyvana. It's me, Lux. Now, at ease, comrade-"
The dragon sucked in a great gust of air, expelling fire towards her position. Lux made a split-second decision, throwing herself sideways, rolling behind a nearby training dummy. Obviously it wasn't fireproof, but it gave the young woman a moment to consider tactical options. Her head snapped up as the smell of burning reached her nose. Time to move, before she burned with this dummy.
She moved out from behind the burning debris, again settling into a defensive stance before the beast, her gaze locking with the inhuman eyes. "A true soldier is judged not on how he treats his enemies, but his comrades. I will see that justice is dispensed for your complaints, Shyvana," she called out, hoping that somewhere inside the great beast, the woman still resided. "Calm yourself. The guilty will get their punishment. Remember: 'Justice for all'," she added, quoting from The Measured Tread. "There is justice out there for your attackers. I will deliver it personally if need be - such is our way."
Her gaze was fixed on the dragon, waiting for her response. Lux knew that if Shyvana struck out, she would defend herself. She didn't know however, who would win - and what would happen afterwards. Instead, the made fervently hoped that it didn't go that far - while she was sure she could at least halt Shyvana, she didn't want to have to test that theory...especially if she was proved wrong.

"The formation is such that any movement in the foothills can be observed and reacted to within the hour. Each soldier carries minimal gear and rations, rotating to the central location daily, here." A long wooden rod reached out, and settled on a hilltop just north of the mountains.
The map spread out across the wide table was subdued by the small stone pieces signifying army encampments and formations. Tiny metal horses of cavalry groups sat at key checkpoints, covering the roads in a light network of scouts and checkpoints. The table was long and broad, lined on both sides by the standing generals of the Royal Army of Demacia. Jarvan IV sat quietly as they continued, directing most of their attention toward his father.
When the messenger tapped his shoulder lightly, it was like being broken from a trance. The boy whispered, eyes wide and insistent as he glanced nervously at the gathered officers. "Urgent message my Prince." Jarvan IV glanced around the table, before carefully withdrawing at the runners behest. His absence would be noted by father, but the depth of expression on the messengers face was curious. The blond boy spoke in hushed and hurried tones as soon as the door to the Council room closed behind them.
"Shyvana is attacking, she's... in a fury and transformed!"
The Prince's eyes went wide, as he turned to glance back at the council chamber. This was disastrous to begin with, and the fact that the young man hadn't shouted it to the entire chamber was itself a small blessing. "Thank you" he said, clutching the boys arm as panic rose in his mind. "They said... not to interrupt the council." He said with a nervous grin, knowing the favor might get him in trouble if things went badly. The Prince was technically not a member. Hopefully he would still have some say in the boys punishment... if it came to that. "Where is she?"
"The training grounds, there's no time!" He began running again, and Jarvan IV followed him, picking up the faint sounds of commotion as they drew closer to the military complex.

Shyvana glared at the young Crownguard, moving around a little before looking up at the sky then back at Luxanna. The Demacian's words reached the Half-Dragons ears, she understood them, but she did not care. There was one thing that she wanted and that was to cremate those who had attacked her, alive.
Shyvana's talons ripped in the ground as she moved around, pushing away different objects as they came in her way while she looked for a new angle. The Half-Dragon's eyes shone like small suns as she scanned the training grounds, absorbing every detail she could. Inside her she was falling, falling into a ocean of rage and she had just broken the surface and it was a long way to the bottom.
Fighting against herself inside her she struggled to move away from the abyss that would consume her and turn her against Luxanna fully. She broke the surface again and the Half-Dragon took a few steps away from Luxanna.
The sounds of guards rustling made Shyvana look at the large doors that slowly opened. She had to move, again Shyvana looked up at the sky, the sun was shining. "Lady Crownguard, back off!" One of the guards shouted as they entered the arena, if he said anything else Shyvana didn't hear it. The sound of crumbling stone covered the voices as she threw herself against the Training Ground walls and left a hole in it.
With the help of her armor she barely felt the stone crumble beneath her, now she was outside of the Training Grounds and the first thing that came to her mind was to find her attackers.

Lux waited with bated breath for the Half-Dragon to respond, but she made no move except to back in another direction. Perhaps Shyvana was still there. Hope a cautious spark in her chest, Lux took a careful step forwards. At last she finally recognised the dragon's actions as someone fighting for sense beyond the rage that so clearly burned in the fire drake's eyes. "Shyvana, please-"
Shouting reached her ears. A guard was all that was needed to shatter the moment in the air. In that instant, Shyvana was gone, barreling through the wall as if it was paper. Lux swallowed a curse - learned from her military training classmates - on her tongue. Shyvana couldn't be allowed out like this! People would get entirely the wrong idea!
"Idiot," she snapped, whirling to face the guard. "I knew what I was doing!" When the man - clearly older and of more military experience than her - opened his mouth, she cut him off rudely. "She may be dangerous, but she is not a beast. She can be brought to see reason! Now if the trainees could see her as more than the beast, then perhaps she would stop becoming one. Treat someone like a monster long enough and they will start acting like one. The students turned her into a self-fulfilling prophecy." Her eyes glowed with anger as her magic responded to hr high emotions. Lux turned away, shutting her eyes, taking several deep breaths to calm herself. When she turned back the glow had faded.
"My lady, the prince is on his way," someone yelled.
Lux considered her options and realised there was only one path to take. The mage turned to the hole in the wall. "Send him after me. I can stall for time!" With that she dashed through the hole after the Half-Dragon, her baton glimmering lightly as she called on her magic in preparation.
I hope you see reason, Shyvana. Jarvan IV puts a lot of faith into you...she thought as she ran.

Stepping through the archway and into the light of the training yard, Jarvan IV's eyes went from the soldiers running to clear rubble and debris from the ruined wall. The dust was still dissipating as soldiers were reorganized under their officers and others spread word across the walls. Messengers on horseback dashed past, their eyes catching on the prince as the rode past and toward city command posts. He hardly had time to think before a soldier approached with a rushed salute.
"Sir, Lady Crownguard confronted Shyvana. She's followed the Half-Dragon through the breach."
Just another element in the mix of chaos and fear that threatened his clarity. "Horses." The Prince followed the soldiers glance to the small stable nearby, frightfully empty. "LISTEN UP!" He started toward the broken stretch of wall, flanked by soldiers that gathered around him as officers gathered half equipped trainees and full plated guardsmen together into cohesive groups.
His instinct took hold, and he bellowed out across the yard. "I want two columns with long handled weapons, if all you have is a sword then stay out of the way! No one without a shield goes through the breach! No one without a breastplate goes through the breach! No one attacks Shyvana without my command! Nobody approaches her unless I say so! Are we CLEAR?" Voices rose and fell as men shuffled to follow the commands, moving weapons and gear while forming ranks in front of the wall. "ARE WE CLEAR?"
"YES MY PRINCE!"
He stood at the head of the right column, looking into the distance. "Have someone bring my lance."

Fear, pain, anger, fire and vengeance was what kept Shyvana going, she was going to find those who hurt her and hurt them. Her senses were on edge as she continued her advance through the military district of Demacia. The glaring sun made her armor shine and her scales glow while she continued to hunt her prey, her eyes constantly scanning the ground and the environment around her as her talons left holes in the ground with each step she took.
Stopping at an intersection she stood up and looked up at the palace, if anything the news had already reached Jarvan. Shyvana knew that he'd be disappointed, possibly furious at her. The thoughts where quickly swept aside when the sound of Jarvan's shouting reached her ears, he was soon going to catch up to her, no doubt. The Half-Dragon looked at the two ways she could go, sniffing the air she tried to pick up their scent, but the place had been too crowded and they were hard to make out which belonged to which.
Moving down the left road towards the barracks again and away from the road that led to one of the larger market places she retook her low form and continued, or if you could call a dragon moving on all four low. Surprisingly the streets were empty of people, perhaps the alarm had scared them away. Continuing her advance Shyvana stopped suddenly. There was a small human in the way, much smaller than the others. Thinking for a few seconds what to do she realized it was a child, moving closer to it she walked in a half circle before leaving the area again.
Once more she was getting closer to the barracks, the Training grounds weren't too far away from here and she could hear the rustling of soldiers arming themselves for combat. Where were they? Those who had hurt her was going to pay, but she couldn't find them. Maybe they had joined the ranks that were going to fight her? Shyvana stood up again, sniffing the air once more. Deciding to head back to the training grounds to see if they were there she went down onto her talons again and continued her march to the Training Grounds.
The soldiers that had hurt her was going to burn, she was going to enjoy their screams of pain as her fire scorched their bodies.

Lux ran. She slowed to a manageable pace as she travelled - there was no benefit from confronting Shyvana while all out of breath. Even if Lux couldn't see Half-Dragon's form, it didn't matter - Shyvana had left an obvious trail for her to follow. Lux gritted her teeth as she jogged around holes and claw marks. Jarvan was going to have a fit.
The trail took her towards the markets before they did an abrupt turn and began to lead away. Lux frowned in confusion, puzzled for a moment. She turned to scan her surroundings and spotted a young child, her thumb in his mouth. Wasting no time, she made her way over to him, making sure to project an aura of confidence - no use in scaring him after what he'd just seen.
"Young master, you would no doubt have seen a dragon go through this area, correct?" When the boy nodded silently, she asked, "Which way?"
The boy removed his thumb from his mouth to point back up towards the Training Grounds. Lux only nodded, still holding that professional air. "My thanks, young master. I'd recommend that you go inside for now - for your own safety."
The only stuck his thumb back in his mouth and turned away, soundlessly climbing the steps to his own front door. Lux wasted a minute to watch him enter his house before she turned and hurried back the way she came, bound for the Training Grounds. As she neared her destination Lux spotted the great dragon, also headed that way. The girl briefly hesitated, then yelled out, hailing the dragon. "Shyvana! Hold!" Her baton sparked lightly as she gripped it by her side, though she made no aggressive moves as she waited for Shyvana to turn to her. "Peace!"

The marks of dragon claws were obvious, but before Jarvan IV and the assembled city guard could more than set foot through the breach, the Half-Dragon could be seen moving in the distance. She was headed back toward them with that unreadable draconian mask, the same face she wore every time she transformed. There was no expression, rather it was the sound that told her mood, low and rumbling like a fire burning low. As he watched her approach a thousand endings to this event tumbled through his mind, many of them full of death.
"SHIIIEEELDS!"
They heard, raising shields defensively. A group of unfamiliar soldiers under hardly met officers, the still moved as one.
"HOOOOLLD!"
The prince stepped forward alone, his lance resting on his shoulder as always. The soldiers stood their ground, whatever reluctance they had at letting the prince go unguarded balanced out by their trust in him and their fear of a fiery end. Whatever had happened, whatever caused Shyvana to lose control, he could not allow her to continue. There was still a chance to end things peacefully. The though was reinforced when he spotted Lux following behind the half dragon with her weapon in hand. Her word's were indistinguishable, but she seemed to have a level head. Jarvan IV hoped the soldiers behind him could maintain the same level of calm. A wrong move from them and any chance at diffusing the conflict would be lost. He stopped walking forward and focused his attention on the beast crawling toward him, waiting for it to come close enough for him to reach out to the woman inside.

The sound of Luxanna's voice did not go unnoticed for the Half-Dragon, she was too busy trying to find those who had hurt her. Shyvana moved closer until Jarvan and his group of soldiers appeared in front of her, she didn't want to harm him or anyone else that wasn't guilty. But she would defend herself if she had to.
Shyvana glared at Jarvan then at the soldiers behind him, scanning them to see if she recognized anyone. The Half-Dragon slowly approached Jarvan until there was a mere three meters between them, she wanted to push on, but the guilty was lost. Shyvana could not find those who had harmed her, she realized this, but as the small crownguard girl had told her she would have justice. Even if Demacia's view on justice differed from her own she was still going to have it.
A feeling of weakness flowed over her like a wave of water, pulling back a bit from Jarvan she looked away and down at the ground with closed eyes. The rage that had burned inside her slowly died and once more covered her body, leaving her clad in the same armor as earlier on the ground. The Half-Dragon'ss hair hang over her shoulders as she sat on her knees and covered her face. Shame, dishonor and hurt was what Shyvana experienced. Taking quick breaths as she cried into her hands lowly.
Once more, the Half-Dragon felt like she was completely alone in this large world.

The young mage did not waver as Shyvana slowed. As she watched the creature, she became aware of Jarvan leading a large party towards Shyvana from the other side. Lux made no sudden moves, her gaze flicking from her prince back to the Half-Dragon in front of her. "Peace, Shyvana. I will see that you get your justice, as you should."
Then Shyvana transformed, and Lux let out a soft sigh of relief. It took her a moment to realise that the woman was crying, and it wasn't in her nature to stand idly by while that occurred - Lux approached calmly, laying a hand on the woman's shoulder. "You will have what you so desire. It is your right as a citizen of Demacia." The last sentence was one which rose clearly to Jarvan's ears - and to the ears of the soldiers behind her. Lux was stating her loyalty to the half-Dragon - while she may not know the woman as well as Jarvan, she trusted her prince's judgment, and stood by the woman before her. She, like Lux, was a soldier, and could have chosen to turn away. Instead, she'd accepted Jarvan's offer to join him. That in itself was important - freely joining Demacia was something that Lux respected. It also helped that Shyvana chose to return to her human form in this conflict.
Calmly she lifted her hand from Shyvana's shoulder, stepping around the woman to face Jarvan. "Your Highness," she greeted him formally, dipping her head in a respectful nod. "Shyvana has several personal grievances with many of the trainees and soldiers of the barracks. No doubt you've at least heard rumours of them." She fell silent, leaving an opening for the Half-Dragon to talk. Her eyes skated over the soldiers amassed behind the prince, searching for the culprits of this particular incident, though she spotted nobody.

As he approached she began to diminish. He watched the dragon fall away, planting his lance in the dirt and leaving it behind him, a signal for the wall of shields behind him to relax. It took a moment, but if he had been listening he would have heard the faint sound of ringing metal as the motley group of soldiers rested weapons and kite shields. Fallen to her knees, the danger was all over. He felt his adrenaline ebb, his heart slow. Luxanna reached her first, the feeling behind her words echoed by Jarvan's own but tempered by anger and disappointment.
Her first soft sobs softened his heart. To a great extent, Shyvana was his responsibility. He trusted her with more control than this, and she had attempted to reduce a few soldiers to dust for a what may have been a simple insult.
"You cannot understand how angry I am. There will be justice under the law, and that is all." He knelt in front of Shyvana. "We are going to have a long talk." There would be much more. An full investigation, an inquiry from the Council, and if he wasn't lucky, a trial of some kind. He would have to work to avoid it. It hadn't been easy to convince the council to allow Shyvana to join the city in the first place. This sent cracks across thin ice, and with a temper as hot as hers they might both be swimming if he didn't act quickly and intelligently.
His head turned toward Luxanna, his face set in a serious mask. "You were right to come here so quickly. You'll accompany us. Signal one of the officers to approach for orders."

Shyvana felt Luxanna's hand on her shoulder and then heard her voice speak to her, assuring her that justice would be served to those who had harmed her. Then the voice of Jarvan reached her ears, a feeling of sudden weight was put on her shoulders as he spoke to her.
Shyvana understood that she too was going to face some sort of punishment, getting exiled from Demacia was a very likely sentence that she could face. Nodding the Half-Dragon stopped her crying and stood up. "I-I u-understand..." was her only reply. Slowly turning towards Lux with a weak smile before turning around completely.
Taking a deep breath the Half-Dragon calmed herself and looked up into the sky. "Where shall I go now?" she asked, the question was aimed at Jarvan, seeing as he would probably be the one defending her the most.
