The sun had since set and the newborn night took its place. Snow came down and coated the streets of the City-State in sheets that would slowly grow by the hour. Glowing gaudy lantern light lit the way and the sound of his footsteps crunching through snow was his only company for now. A leather jacket kept the chill away and his boots kept his feet dry. This was the second large snowfall this week. The streets would be cleared away by magic or shovel once it had finished. It felt the same as any other storm. This winter would leave and with it would go the snow. Next years would either be better or worse. It could have been the same as last years. Darius did not care.
