Location: The Grand Hall. Date: November 27th.
Participants:
Razie Jacob Thoven Naiyu Adeptis Quinn Dominic/Talon Vladimir Lulu Dr Mundo
The group that has escaped the wrath of the Devourer finds themselves walking a straight path down a pitch black hallway, the walls smeared with faint streaks of blood. The thick smell of death permeates the air and the very ground they walk on. Half-way there, the group will see the line of spikes protruding from the smooth stone and scraps of flesh and fraying material dangling on the tips. For some reason the trap had not yet reset itself -- could another have come across this path recently?
If the group chooses to move on, there is a faint shimmer that spans the opening of a supposed exit -- it covers the expanse like a solid spiderweb, glimmering with lightning streaks of an ancient magic that twist in spastic motion all over the golden-white door. Through it, the group can see the blur of image but the motion of the magic makes it difficult to make out.
On the ground there are completely round indents with symbols etched into the center. Gaping jaws lined with teeth on one, to an intricately carved picture of an eight limbed beast on another. The designs appeared to have been done with great caution and only one will unlock the door.
The party who had destroyed the beaked monster would find a door not unlike the one they had come in from. The door is old and hanging on its hinges though it still requires a fair amount of force to pull free. The opening is small, large enough for perhaps an average sized man but only in width. He would have to bend and crawl through to reach the other side.
The room both parties will find themselves in is large, a grand hall that gleams golden with pure alabaster pillars holding up nothing but the solidified ceiling above them. Lining the sides of the great room are magnificent statues molded into shapes that resemble a feline of sorts, though they would not be any sort of beast the group would recognize. Perhaps the glorious leaders of the once prosperous civilization of Shurima kept them once as pets and in passing, have had their like immortalized with them forever beneath the sands. The statues seemed to be carved from black rock, their eyes gleaming with ruby red fervor, posed to pounce with their teeth gleaming ivory.
Just beyond at the very end of the room lay a truly massive glass container of some kind. It was cracked and parts of it covered in a familiar black grime but even that did nothing to hide the splendors it held within. Mountains of gold rested like a lover against the cool, transparent surface and so too did piles of precious rock and stone decorate those fragile four walls. Garnets, emeralds and rubies nestled together like brethren while diamonds skittered off the edges and the starry blue-silvers of the lapis lazuli winked at others on the dusty floor.
But judging by the large hold in the glass casing, it appeared that someone had attempted to smash their way through using brute force... someone or something. If one looked closer, they would see that the glass had been marked by wicked claws and flakes of rusty brown. An even closer look would show within a treasure that was perhaps far more precious than any other -- the faint glimpse of a thin point, old and grey, poking out like a lightning rod. No doubt it was an artifact that was meant to be kept hidden.
Statues of cat-like beasts and pillars line the way to a glass casing of gold and other precious materials including glimmers of artifacts sticking out. There are scratch marks all around the case and spots of blood. But the artifacts could be important and the gold... well, there is plenty to go around.

Thoven eased the door open as slowly as he could, making a loud creak as he used more and more muscle into moving the ancient thing. Throughly annoyed by this, Thoven was silently cursing the designer of this vault for his shoddy doors...and hallways. The tiny hallway was a murder-hole, but being the only exit available, Thoven went forward with a drawn saber.
Exiting the hallway into a great empty space, Thoven ducked to the side and peered over the room.
Gold...jewels...all out in the open...This was too easy. He began to advance slowly, paying little heed to the statues. The glass tube was more intriguing.

As Razie followed the path from the lair of the Devourer he couldn't help but get a shiver up his spine once he got the scent of death forced into his nostrils, he immediately assumed it was his mind playing tricks on him and that it was attempting to remind him of Kevin's death, however this was not the case as he looked upon the walls and saw the evidence.
At this point he was already preparing to start calculating once he saw the spikes and what lied upon them but found it best to continue moving forward to the next room with the other members of the expedition, his attention being spread all around the various objects of notice namely the statues and the gold.
He didn't move towards the gold like he assumed a few of the others would, he was stuck thinking on what, if anything was laid out for them. The last two encounters his group had went through had their challenges presented immediately but no reward to show that their effort wasn't for nothing, and yet here they were in a room that clearly had the reward before them but no challenge to be seen.
Overall? He thought this was a damned trap waiting to pop at any second.
Action: Waiting for the inevitable trap to be sprung, if it existed.
Razie Status: 90% with Proto-Armor being worn but with no power, currently just a normal suit of metal.

Tottering at the back of the party as they slowly trickled into the new room, Naiyu brushed and rubbed her features, trying to clear away the dirt, grime and now invading tiredness from herself. They hadn't been here long, or at the very least it didn't seem that long, but she was already feeling fatigue from simply being in this dark and foreboding place. Entering this room made nothing better.
She noticed the jewels, the glittering greatness that was the enticing riches apparently laid out before them to simply scoop up and claim. It made her pause, rooted by the entrance they came from. It was too easy. Much too easy to be safe, she thought to herself as she noted the large and unnerving claw marks littered around the chest. Was it a warning? A bluff? What was she to believe?...
Someone, she couldn't quite recall their name - Tyson? - sauntered forward towards the mountainous treasures, and a small alarm blared in her mind. Unconsciously she reached out as if attempting to rear him back, but she stopped. Would he listen? He seemed the type to blow anything off for the sake of coin, but maybe he would? Maybe she had the wrong idea about him? But how would she warn him? She couldn't remember his name...
Naiyu simply stared at his back as him moved, only giving a small peep of protest. "U...U-Uhm...?" Action: Waiting near the back of the room Status: Physically fine, mentally strained (87%)

Thoven heard a few footsteps, but a quick glance revealed it to be the Piltoverian who was 'in-charge'. The man appeared to be hanging back and thus Thoven was not concerned. He was almost at the glass display of sorts when a soft noise had him instantly on edge. His dirk was flipped to throw and he was turning to defend himself from this surprise attack. However, there were only the scientist and the little mage. The whimpery one that Thoven had firmly placed at the bottom of his threat assessment.
Any more noise out of her and Thoven would not be able to trust his senses. He wanted quiet. He wanted darkness. This was not safe. In the pitch dark and quiet, Thoven was safe from harm and foes.
'I'm losing my damned mind in this shit hole. Screw gutting everyone to get more pay, I just want to get out with my share.' Thoven thought to himself.
Diverting his attention back to the problem before him, Thoven stared the little summoner in the eye and slowly placed his finger to his lips to silence her. If she made more noise, he'd throw his dagger and that'd cover it.
He turned back to the Glass display thing and continued his sluggish advance.

"It sure is a tight fit" Jacob thought to himself as he continued to crawl through. At least the close ways did a good job of scrapping the Clacker goop off his clothing. A thin trail of blood lay before him, the blood of Thoven, who had travelled though it before he had.
The narrow crawl space soon gave way to a large room littered with all kinds of treasures. Any sailor in Bilgewater would trade every ounce of rum they had to get 1 minute in this room.
He spotted the others in the room. Upon seeing his apprentice, he was overcome with relief and worry at the same time. Relived she was alive, but her state did not look very good. Were they the only two to make it? Did the rest, including Quinn perish? He walked over to them to get some answers.
