Scattered across the vast reaches of Runterra, in almost any place with the population to give itself a spot on a map, one could find a poster, seeking help, which read as follows:
Help Requested
To all who may be interested,

All those who are interested and meet the required criterium should seek out the nearest associate of Carell Wollcroft or Carell Wollcroft himself in Demacia.
The gold sounds good... But imagine the scientific value out of this! I'm in. It'll also give me a kick back to roleplaying.
Ron walks back to his little abode in northern Piltover after a day in the YASP. Twiddling his thumbs he was worried about his pay as his saved money was quickly running out and to continue his research he'd need a lot more than a few coins of silver a regular job would pay. As he was lost in thought again, he ran into a large metal pole, a streetlight he thought before he even hit the ground. He fell with a loud thud and looked up at the streetlight. On the streetlight itself was a poster. "An expedition?" He asked himself. He took a closer look and read the requirements. He returned home that day and thought about it more.
In his house, Ron thought about it more. The danger is real, but the pay is really good. It will be more than enough to finish his research AND to actually find ancient records of alchemy and perhaps something more? This could be a step to become the greatest alchemist ever! Ron hopped from his spot in joy and began to start the preparations.
The next day, he visited the Piltovian representative of Carell Wollcraft and asked the representative about additional information.

Xerath does not have a need for the gold, but he does need to make a better image for himself. He will soon offer to go on this venture when that point is made painstakingly clear to him.
Xerath can offer magical firepower, extensive arcane knowledge, and is virtually indestructible.
Keep in mind that Xerath cannot be expected to perform with any degree of stealth.

The Piltoveran office of Carell Wollcroft was about as Piltoveran as a Demacian could hope to be, which was not very. Some attempts at blending in with the local culture were clearly attempted, but it was obviously the office of a Demacian. A man, not Carell Wollcroft himself, sat behind the wooden desk, smiling to Ron and gesturing to the open seat before him. "Please, sit down. I was told you're looking for more information on Mr. Wollcroft's upcoming expedition?" The man's employer had stressed the importance of the expedition to all of his employees. They were to give their full attention to anyone interested.
Ron arrived at the room with a yordle sized briefcase on his person. He sat down and nodded to the man. "Y-yes, just give me a moment to take out my questions... He said as he was struggling to quickly take out a page with some writings on it from his briefcase. "There it is!" He said in a triumphant voice. He looked briefly in his page and started reciting from it. "Okay, so first I wanted to know something about proofing. Is this expedition okay with the Solari people? I don't want to get in troubles with them, nor with the Rakkor that live in the area."

The man waited very patiently as Ron sorted through his belongings, still keeping the same friendly smile on his face. His reply to Ron's concerns came quickly, and he spoke very reassuringly to him. "Oh, you don't need to worry about them. You and the rest of the party would only be in Rakkor territory very briefly, hardly enough time for them to notice you, and not even the Solari know about your destination. Getting there should be painless and easy." The man continued to look very receptive to Ron's questions, inviting him to ask all he wished without saying a word.
"Oh, okay. That's at least one concern off." Ron looked back at his page and chose another question.
"About the loot... I'm kinda new to this adventuring thing... We do keep the loot we find right? I mean, if I find something extraordinary which can help me in my research or something, I do get to keep it, right?"
Before the man would be able to answer, Ron jumped, accidentally throwing his page. He quickly snatched it back from the air and sat back down. "Right! When is the expedition happening and where is it starting from?"

The man, still ever patient, would respond to both of Ron's questions. "The loot distribution is based upon what everyone finds and how much the people asking for it need it. If you make yourself especially useful, then you get first pick." The man paused for a moment, pulling out a map. "The expedition will set off from this point, here-" The man pointed toward a place not too far off from Demacia. "They set off in a month and a week, on a Monday."
Ron calmed down from his endeavor as the man answered his questions. He nodded back and took one final look at his page, looking at his last question.
"Is the pay up front, or divided? If so, or if we get the instructed bonus as I am proficient in medicine, do I receive the pay earlier so I may get the equipment? I don't exactly own whole packs of medicine and field equipment in my little home here. Also, will there be an escort from Demacia? I can get a convoy for tomorrow but I'm not sure on how to reach that exact spot."

"The initial pay is given the moment you sign up. 1000 gold coins, exactly as advertised. Since you have some additional skills, you get 400 for every skill in high demand, and 200 for the others. Final payout is based on your performance and what you and the rest discover. You can contact Mr. Wollcroft's office in Demacia to arrange how you will reach the starting point. You might even be able to go with Mr. Wollcroft himself." The man replied, still maintaining a friendly tone and expression.
