July 3rd, 24 CLE
Kayle was sitting outside of the Crownguard estate, leaning against a tree. Her gaze was downcast, her blade laying in her lap. It was dusk, not many people were out, which was good for Kayle. The Judicator didn't really know why she was sitting her, but she didn't care that much to be honest. She was tired, she had been up for days. Dressed in her golden armor, the angel warrior hung her head and closed her eyes, hoping to at least rest a little.

Lux wasn't sure how long the Judicator had been outside, but it wasn't until dusk had fallen that she was informed of the being's presence by a maidservant. The mage, her curiousity roused, made her way outside - and sure enough, there she was, leaning against a tree in the dusk.
"Kayle," she hailed the angel, "What keeps you out so late?"
Kayle looked exhausted, she belatedly realised. She paused before taking another step closer. "You look like you're in need of rest. Would you like to come in?"

A few minuets had passed and Kayle was almost asleep when a familiar voice caught her ears, she opened her eyes reluctantly and looked in Lux's direction. She hefted herself onto her feet and realized where she was. "I'm sorry Miss Crowngaurd.. I did not mean to intrude, if you wish me to leave I will do so." Kayle replied, looking at Lux with tired eyes.

The more Lux watched her, the more she recognised just how tired Kayle was. "Nonsense," replied Lux briskly. "You are not intruding at all. Come in - you look like you could use some time to rest." She offered the angel a welcoming smile with her words as she stood there.
"How long have you been outside? You look like you've been busy as of late."

Kayle looked up and then looked back to Lux, shaking her head. "I do not know.." She said, rubbing her eyes. Normally Kayle would refuse an offer like this, but Kayle needed a place to rest. "I... I'll take your offer, thank you." Kayle said, waiting for Lux to lead her inside.

The mage dipped her head, gesturing for Kayle to follow her. As they stepped inside, Lux turned to a nearby servant. "Please prepare a room for our guest, Albert." The man nodded and strode briskly down the hall. Lux instead led them into a small library, built more for relaxation rather than research. An armchair was nearby with a book on the armrest. The lights were lit and the fire going merrily - Lux had obviously been doing some reading before she'd been informed of Kayle's presence outside. With a handwave she invited the obviously tired angel to take a seat as she too sat down. "What brings you towards the Crownguard residence?" she asked curiously.

Kayle followed Lux inside, looking around at the beautiful estate. She followed Lux into the library and took a seat, laying her sword across her lap again. She blinked at Lux's question and shook her head. "In truth, I did not realize where I was. I was simply looking for a place to rest... I do not have a home I can call my own in Demacia yet." Kayle replied, her golden armor shining by the fire light.

"Ah. If you need it, I am sure we can make accommodations for you here. We've plenty of space," Lux offered. She smiled at the woman across from her. "On another topic, how have you found Demacia? I hope the people and the treatment has been to your liking." Lux hadn't had a proper chat with the Judicator since their occasional encounters in the Institute, and she jumped at the chance for a true conversation with the angel.

Kayle simply nodded at Lux's offer and looked down at her sword, thinking for a moment before Lux caught her attention again. "It is... nice." Kayle replied "Not quite home, but close enough. The citizens stare more than I'd like them too... but they are good people."

"Yes, I've heard people say that 'there's no place like home', and I can't help but agree," the mage murmured. "I am not surprised that the citizens stare so. We do get the odd non-human in Demacia, but the majority of the population is human. Something different is always of curiousity - even if staring is not polite." Her face softened as she spoke - it was obvious that the people of Demacia were close to the lady's heart.

"It's not just the Demacian population. You mortals seem to revere me as some sort of god." Kayle muttered, looking down at her blade and sighing. "Believe me, I am nothing of the sort." She looked towards the fire with a blank expression on her face, as if she were lost in thought.

"If I may be so bold, your abilities and reputation paint you as...'holy' so to speak," Lux replied. she shrugged elegantly. "Obviously among your people you are normal - which is possibly why it is odd for you here, among those who are quite different from you, and you from them."
She paused, searching for a way to explain herself. At last she said, "...They see you as good, and light, carrying some sort of divinity. I do not know how to explain it."

Kayle was silent for a long moment before looking back at Lux. "I have done things that you, and many others would consider heinous." She replied, looking at Lux with the same blank expression. "Lately, I have questioned whether or not I am actually "good" or not..." Kayle sighed "Regardless, I have a mission to complete, and I will see it to the end."

Lux nodded in understanding. "So have many others," she sighed in agreement. "I suppose then sometimes it is up to the individual of how to proceed - but then your determination towards your mission is what others might admire, no? I mean, many more weak-willed may have chosen to give up at various times. I suppose I shouldn't really talk though - what with my lifestyle and background of growing up. Perhaps I am taking things for granted that others did not easily attain."

Kayle looked at Lux and sighed softly. "It's harder when your life doesn't end. The thought never occurred to me back home, not even once. But after being in this world for a long while... immortality is starting to feel more like a curse than a blessing." She paused for a moment. "I suppose I need it though, in order to complete my task." Kayle looked back at Lux and observed her for a moment. "All this luxury, yet there is a sense about you that you have your own demons to deal with... I apologize for rambling on."
