James walked inside and was immediately impressed by the beautiful architecture. He scratched at his ear as the whispers plagued him, drawing his blade and holding his shield. "Understood, Leona." He began approaching the front of the party with her.
I will meet one someday...and that day will either be the best or worst day of my life.

"I got me an all-overish feelin' about this place..." the old man mumbled to himself. He shifted his backpack and had a hand on a holstered pistol, uncomfortable with the eerie tension the whispering of the temple brought upon him. "I ain't no genius but I say we get a move on. We can't keep trouble from visitin', but we don't gotta stand around here offerin' it a damn chair" he said stonily before moving up with James towards the front of the group at a brisk pace more than prepared to get a move on with this expedition.

"Of course Miss Reveck." Said the inventor with a nod as he motioned over to the key and did as asked of him, turning the clockwork machinery a few times he found the rather homely sound of gears winding as he did so. He couldn't help but wonder why tearing the clothes mattered to her, though it was true for all intents and purposes of her creation she was female she was still an automaton... a respectable attempt at blending in with the rest of the humans in their group perhaps? Most likely he mused to himself finding the key sufficiently winded.
Moving onward into the temple his worry of impending danger settled slightly, taking time to admire the ancient history laid out before him he couldn't help but feel old memories of exploring the tomb of Azell in Shurima. This however, did nothing but absolutely reassure him that there was something to fear in the structure and that if and when it came at that them he refused to be surprised by it as he was in the previous tomb with the surprises and horrors that lied at the end of every hallway for them.
This was only further confirmed by Leona as it appeared she too could somehow sense the danger ahead of them, he too heard the whispers... but his judgement in caring for them was clouded by previous whispers of madness, could it be he was used to this?
"With no offense intended as the logcal 'genius' Mr. Scrod I second that statement, if we wait it becomes impatient, whatever /it/ is." He said calmly to the fisherman as he checked the signs on his gauntlets, armed and at 100% efficiency, he turned his attention over to Leona. "And you're certain that no one is aware who or what is inside this structure Solari?"

- Thank you, mister Tynerson. You are very nice.
Orianna's voice rang louder, more clearer, as he finished winding up her key. The ticking inside of the metal maiden, previously rather faint and unnoticeable, now was pretty obvious - as if you'd be standing next to a large clock. Or a Clockwork girl. She turned to the young man, and nodded once more in appreciation, a facsimile of a smile appearing on her face. Together, they would follow the others into the temple.
Inside the temple was even more fascinating than outside. But what attracted the automaton girl's attention the most were the stone warriors - the warders, blocking the path. They were not mere statues - as Leona had proved, by touching them. Upon an unheard command, they moved, sounds of stone scraping against stone in their wake. Orianna felt strange kinship to the constructs of magic. They were ... like her. In a way. The Ball hovered behind Orianna, its chirps sounding rather concern. The automaton paid him no heed, for now.
But there was something else here...
Unlike the living, Orianna did not hear any whispers inside of her head. Instead, there was something else that she felt. Despite the fact her key had been winded a few moments ago, the mechanisms working together in an unison, Orianna felt ... strange. Her thought process, usually clear and lacking all the interference that the living beings had, felt a bit slower. The reactions too, she could detect a slight delay... A few lesser anomalies the automaton had never experienced before, in this body. She scanned her memory, for something familiar, before approaching Razie from behind once more. He was the techmaturgist around here, maybe he would know.
- This is very strange. - her voice trembled, with a bit of concern, and idle curiosity. - This place makes me feel a bit... tired.

He entered with a watchful eye and followed the Radiant Dawn's trail, she would be more accustomed to a place like this wouldn't she? Sure enough he was right when she dealt with what he could only assume was a temple guardian of some sort. The Immortal Soldier remained on edge though, faint whispers were on the wind and led him to question if he had ever heard them to begin with. For some reason, he felt a little off though he could not put his finger upon it.
He drew his weapon and kept it ready, grasping the blade with one hand.
"Is there an infiltrator or has something breached what was within? Could it be this temple sealed off what was within? If you have any insight or inkling about what our hostile may be, now would be an ideal time to speak." Tekun's mannerisms changed from eased to guarded quickly.

Leona did have an idea of what might be inside. She could not fill their requests. Her theory could not possibly be right, this could not possibly be that place. Even if it was correct, telling them of it would change nothing. They would still be stuck, only stuck and horrified. She would not be lying to them, only withholding the entirety of the truth. She might have to reveal the entirety of it later. "There are no records of this place. We will have to discover firsthand why it was sealed." With that, Leona advanced forward.

Carell had the sense to don his armor before they had entered the temple. He suspected there might be violence at some point in the near future, whether it be the work of trespassers or something else. He left all but one of the horses in front of the steps by the entrance, ensuring that they would have more than enough to eat for at least 3 days. He doubted they would be inside for that long, but he took precautions. It would do no good to have them die on him. He brought one more horse with him, loaded with extra equipment he brought along. He had spears, a few spare swords, and a couple of maces among other things on the horse.
The place unnerved him immediately upon entry. Even before the whispering he felt that something was wrong. The whispering and everything after that confirmed his theory. He now thought to the one question he had never asked. Why had someone tried to destroy the map? Even having recognized the doubt held in his mind for so long, he could not turn back now. Not after coming this far. They would need to explore this temple and discover its secrets firsthand.
The staircase leading to the temple itself did quite the number on Ron, who started getting a bit of a fit about the journey. However, they were finally there. 'No turning back now' he thought as he took a step through the doors of the temple.
The interior... It was huge. He had a hard time to believe that brutes like the Rakkor built such delicate architecture, especially many years ago. He wasn't fazed much by statues, but as soon as the whispers begun... "What was that?" Ron whimpered. How could there be anyone else inside the temple? He thought to himself. He tried to wave it off as an enchantment to keep intruders out by spooking them, but couldn't shake the feeling that they weren't alone. "Soul... Power...?" Ron mumbled to himself. What did the enchantment mean? Is there some sort of soul power magic thing? It's being powered by souls? "What did I just walk into..." He said, standing closer to Scrod who was right in front of him now as he moved forward.
The path ahead lead into an even larger hallway, the light of the sun still brilliantly shining through the gaps in the pillars. Further ahead, the hallway split off to the left, leading into the mountain. The hallway straight ahead had a flight of stairs leading down, inhibiting view of what was ahead.
It was soon apparent that the temple had other occupants. The sound of steel horseshoes upon marble arose from somewhere other than Carell's horse. From the left hallway emerged four figures. Their unnatural height and shape was rapidly explained by their form. They were half man, half horse. They wore little armor other than iron helmets, and each carried a spear with a sword sheathed where the human waist should have been.
The cold, vacant anger of their gaze spoke of their intentions. Two came to the front and readied their spears. With a cry, the two in the lead bore down upon the front of the group and the other two followed several paces behind at slower speed. Their first two targets were Leona and Tekun, their spears lowering further the closer they approached, their aim to strike at the upper chest or head, to kill them as quickly and efficiently as they could.

His first reaction was to think they were not unlike Hecaraim. Only less armored, or so it seemed. He didn't have much to question just what they were so instead the Immortal Soldier took a fighting stance. He lacked a helmet so if they were looking for a quick and clean kill they'd be striking for his head. If almost out of instinct the lines of scars upon his body began to glow very lightly.
"I got the one on the left." Tekun spoke and made his mark, waiting for his foe to grow closer. Once they moved in he'd attempt to exchange blows, his hope was to strike through his unarmored chest, while evading to the best of his ability. His abnormal sturdiness and armor were intended to do much of the work.
Parry and then go in.

Centaurs? Centaurs were the domain of myth. She had never seen one, imitating their mythical descriptions word for word. There was something abnormal at work.
Thinking time was in short supply, however, for the intention of the centaurs was obvious. Leona clasped both hands around the hilt of her sword and silently thanked herself for putting on her helmet in advance. "Stay near the walls." It was not phrased as a suggestion. Staying in the open would allow the centaurs to easily trample whomever they wished. They would at least have a more difficult time if they could not charge them at full gallop.
Leona moved to the right and lowered the point of her sword at the oncoming centaur at hearing Tekun announce his target. As the centaur approached, she would parry the spear up and to the right and immediately follow up with a horizontal slash aimed at the centaur's nearest hind leg as he passed by.
The centaur bearing down on Tekun did not find his mark with his spear as it was successfully knocked aside by his parry. He was forced to slow his pace and quickly leave the range of Tekun's weapon to deny him the strike toward his chest. He did not look back, but instead rode forward, picking up speed once more, closing in on who looked to be the next manageable threat, James. He slowed down to a trot and quickly stabbed twice toward his neck.
The other centaur did not have any success, either, as his spear was parried to the side and Leona's sword struck his hind leg, forcing him to slow down considerably and starting a steady flow of blood. He did not turn to face Leona again, rather, carried on toward the rear of the group as the other one had. He moved forward at a slower trot than the other centaur, headed toward Scrod, Razie, and Orianna. He rode toward Razie first, attempting a jab at his neck from Razie's left.
The two at the front had no respite from the first wave of attackers as the next two centaurs were upon them as the first two had left. The one bearing down on Tekun came much the same as the one before, only his aim was diverted at the last moment away from his upper body and to his lower ribcage on the right side. The one facing Leona leaped toward her, aiming to crush her under the weight of his front hooves.

James was, needless to say, surprised by the centaur's charge. Luckily, their attacking Leona and Tekun first gave him an opportunity to get over his surprise and prepare for combat.
When the centaur snubbed by Tekun cantered towards him, he immediately raised his shield, attempting to block the centaur's strikes for his neck. He kneeled down while stepping forwards to close the distance reflexively, trying to stab past his shield towards the centaur's legs, although with his inexperience against cavalry of any sorts, he was at all kinda of a disadvantage.

As soon as the sound of hooves were heard Razie raised his gloves defensively, the centaurs that were upon them were swift and he had no intention of being killed this early in the expedition. The creature that had chosen him had made a poor decision in continuing the charge with it's hind leg injured from Leona's earlier assault.
The creatures were looking to exterminate them quickly is all he could gather before he raised the steel gauntlets toward the creature.
"Miss Reveck, Mr. Scrod, be ready." he spoke aloud. He knew that firing a blast higher than 40% power would lead to unnecessary injuries due to their recoil the more potent the shot was, he settled for 25% and fired as close to the creatures neck with a quick click of the triggers as he could manage hoping that it would simply stray it's course due to the blast which if his quick mental calculations were on point was truly a coin toss, if it did Orianna and Scrod had best be on their guards. If not he'd hope for the best and attempt to roll closer to the wall he was nearest.
Proto-Armor Gloves functioning at 98%, Sonic Blast fired at Centaur making it's way toward Razie.

From the moment the centaur had appeared Scrod's jaw had been set tightly while a pit grew in the old mans stomach. Things had quickly gone straight to hell in a handbasket and could quite easily get worse. He watched as the horsemen quickly advanced on them, charging at Tekun and Leona immediately bearing down on his companions with animalistic ferocity. He right hand continued to hover over one of his pistols, unshaken and steady despite how his heart raced while he watched Tekun and Leona avoid what could've been fatal blows as they successfully parried and defleced their attackers blows before one of them began to blitz himself and the fellows next to him.
He waited for the beast to close more distance to ensure he wouldn't miss, cocking the hammer on his weapon in preparation. Closer and closer it came and right as the seasoned old man was about to draw his weapon to riddle the creatures skull with bullets the man with the goggles, Razie (if Scrod had remembered his name correctly) fired a blast of energy...from his gloves? That was certainly different."I hope them fancy gloves of yer's pack more of a punch than I hazard to guess boy..." said Scrod as he moved back a few paces, not fully trusting an electric gloves ability to stop a large rampaging centaur.
