The wounds upon Runeterra are deep. The Howling Marsh is a clear illustration of just how twisted some places have become, scarred by the unchecked mortal use of magic. But it is the Institute's aim to heal these wounds.
Here, set on stilts in the sinking muck, is an modest outpost of the League. Here, researchers toil day and night to discover what they may about the land, hoping desperately to restore it. Work is easy to come by; there are always samples that need gathering, giant spiders that need slaying and dark corners of the marsh that need exploring.
Not to mention, the looming threat of undead, which have been sighted on more than one occasion...
