The twisted undergrowth of the Kumungu Jungles is denser than that of any other place on Runeterra--especially here, deep in the its heart, where few mortals have ever set foot. The feral flora in this place is unique to Kumungu, seemingly sentient, the way its vines curl and twist around its prey: any unwitting insect or rodent to wander too close. Poison barbs, maws of chitinous teeth and noxious clouds of spores are common in this wild wood.
It is rumored that the plants here have mystical properties, perhaps grant boons to rival masterwork arcana, but little research has been conducted due to the harshness of the environment. The possibilities are endless, traveler, should you survive the journey into the dark heart of the Kumungu...

If one were to delve into the Kumungu Jungles deep enough they would find a shrine of trees and vines. They seemed to twist and turn around each other, hanging on to what little life they had. In the center would be a wilted, withered flower that still retained it's array of colors that changed with the sun.
This would be Zyra's old shell, her past, herself in a way. This shrine was dedicated to the Rise of the Thorns who proved to those that one can still live past certain death and be reborn as a more powerful force...
Zyra walked up to this shrine, she hadn't been here ever since she was reborn. She looked at the flower, rather herself at a weaker state of her life. "Death was in bloom... but now here I am.. alive yet death is imminent for me." Looking up, she sighed. "Only a matter of time...

The Huntress let out an annoyed sigh, her eyes flicking frantically scanning for the beast she had lost.
"Where the hell did you go..."
It was not like her to lose track of prey so easily. Frustration covered her, growling to herself. She didn't often come to these parts of the jungle to begin with because of its density. There was no particular reason to anyway.
She spat. The beast seemed to have been long lost by now. It was better to try again later. Her curiosity seemed to grow on her, making it easier to forget about the failed hunt. After taking a moment, she has honestly not remembered a time she has ever taken the time to explore these parts.
Carefully, she picked herself up onto a nearby tree's branch, gracefully moving along the trees as she could, hopping down when there was nothing left nearby to jump to. The foliage was thick, making it difficult to traverse. There had to be some kind of clearing somewhere.
Making her way to another tree, she stopped immediately the moment a sharp pain pulsated up her leg. Thorns. Unusually large ones. She was getting careless. As if it had never happened, she proceeded, noticing a small pathway, and an unusual... natural structure? No, structure's not the proper term. But it certainly wasn't inspired by the natural growth patterns of this jungle.
She took a step closer.

Zyra felt the presence of another entity in the deep shrine. She looked around for the source but, found nothing. Most nobody knows this exists... She thought. Who would be able to find this secret place? My sacred shrine? She took a step forward, then backward. She felt threatened, scared, yet... somehow she felt safe... she extended her vines from her vine, connecting herself with the wildlife of the forest.
Through the connection, she tapped into a tree on the other side of the shrine. After some searching, she found the new entity, Nidalee the Bestial Huntress. How do you know of this place, Nidalee? How did you stumble upon my home? She regained her consciousness in her human body, and retracted her vines back into her arms. She then walked towards a nearby bush near the Huntress. For now, I will watch. For now, I will observe. For now, I will not attack. She then relaxed her muscles, trying to blend into the environment.

Nidalee spat in irritated pain and snapped backwards, feeling the warm liquid of her own blood trickle down her upper thigh. She traced her fingers along it, ignoring the likely mess it would make on her skin.
Thorns... Tch.
She was able to fight off beasts, hunt beasts, but a simple caught thorn could bleed her and irritate her this much. These thorns seemed to be much thicker, much larger in size than the average thorn bush. The vines... unbreakable.
Nidalee managed to approach the area, the vibe of the area alerting her that she was not alone. Her grip on her spear tightened defensively, ready to transform if need be. Although, after piecing together the clues, she only just had a decent idea of who this area had belonged to. For now, she remained alert, senses heightened and on her toes.

Zyra, disguised with the flowers, watched as the Bestial Huntress got caught in one of the thorns. Her blood trickled down her thigh and eventually towards the ground where it would be absorbed by the soil. She commanded the plants to give the Huntress a little breathing room, retracting them into otherwise harmless positions.
She got up from her original position, revealing herself to Nidalee. She approached her with confidence in her steps, yet hesitation took over her as she got closer. Why are you here? Before reaching six feet in front of her she stopped and crossed her arms. She was wary, fully knowing of the killing potential she had in the League and just imagining how that could be amplified outside frightened her. Even inside her own sanctuary, she made sure to look closely at the spear.
"Why hello there Nidalee, Bestial Huntress." Zyra started. ""How are you this fine day?"
The huntress watched as the plants around her shifted and rustled around each other, retracting further out of sight. This cleared a lot of the area around her, to her surprise. The most peculiar thing is they only seemed to retract away from her and her only. None of this seemed to surprise her, nor frighten her. This jungle was full of many hidden secrets, unknown to even the most native of the jungle, human or beast. Although this in particular still felt familiar to her.
The sight of the thorned being hardly induced a reaction out of Nidalee. It did not frighten her, even knowing full well of Zyra's capabilities. She stood her ground, spear dug into the soil, but showed no hostility. Placing a hand on her hip, she looked upon Zyra with a small grin curling her lips.
"I suppose it is a fine day for blood thirsty plants, Zyra. Have you seen my prey wander in these parts?"
But she knew how easy it was for the plants to poison and potentially devour smaller creatures. The thorns were nothing to be taken lightly. By now, she had lost her appetite over more curious situations arising anyway. Yet her question remained.

Zyra watched as the huntress showed no hostility. She was surprised, expecting that Nidalee would be more dangerous then inviting. Having an open conversation, this was not the Nidalee that Zyra was used to. Her spear was firmly in the ground, proving that no hostility would be in this conversation. She relaxed her muscles and felt the tension in the air sizzle.
"Blood thirsty plants?" Zyra laughed. "I suppose they are a little blood thirsty..." Zyra looked at the ground as she laughed then back at Nidalee. "As for your prey, I do believe it has passed here but... If it has passed here then it is most likely dead."
Her eyes met Zyra's once more, and studied her. If she had entered the thorned territory, why had she not been hostile towards her? Simply granted her entry by free will? Her thoughts curiously played with this thought for a few moments, wonderingly.
Suddenly, her thigh began to sting with a wetness she had nearly forgotten about. Her fingers caressed her wet skin, gently grazing over the tender area. Wounds hardly bothered her, but this one in particular felt... itchy. The pain didn't affect her, she became accustomed to wounds at this point. But this one in particular irritated her. One she couldn't relieve. A soft, low growl emitted from her throat.
Bringing up her fingers to her mouth, she touched the tip of her tongue to her reddened finger, and looked back up to Zyra.
"Just how poisonous are your plants?" Part of this question was for her itch, where she was unsure if she had an encounter with poison ivy in the same area, or it was Zyra's plants and thorns. Another part of the question was simply the itch reminding her of general curiosity concerning the true nature of Zyra and her plants themselves.
Zyra cocked her head a bit to the side. She seemed a bit puzzled as to why Nidalee would ask such a question, it wasn't as if she was trying to kill her. Then she remembered the thorn that had cut her leg and she emanated a quiet laugh. "My plants are not poisonous at all, it's just that some plants in this territory come by their own free will.. The one that had cut you must of been a Howling Wildfire, native to the Howling Marsh." Zyra paused to make sure Nidalee was keeping up. "It came here to be with my beauties." She then caressed another plant close to her. "If not treated you would die in three days... The only cure is a Frejord Azure Bead, native to Frejord." The plant she was holding seemed to be a simple vine but, instead of being green, it was a pure white. "All you have to do is to take a leaf..." She carefully snapped a leaf off of the strange plant. "And chew on it." She handed the leaf to Nidalee, hoping that Nidalee didn't think that she was trying to poison her.
Nidalee half paid attention to Zyra's words as the itch proceeded to distract her, clawing at her thighs in irritation.
"Fine." She snatched the leaf from Zyra, giving her a look of skepticism, though quick to accept the leaf in between her teeth. "But I'll kill you if this kills me."
She was eager for the effect to take place, for her thighs were becoming mildly raw and immune to her nails.
"Why are you here, anyway? I get the feeling you're not just sitting around enjoying the afternoon air." She was looking for distractions, for she was not only itchy, but hungry. The leaf had left an odd aftertaste on her tongue.

Zyra chuckled at the question. "Always skeptical. I'm here for the simple reason that this is my home. I am still a plant, even though I might be in this body. You've seen my beauties around, have you not?" As Zyra spoke, she looked around and noticed that there in fact weren't many of her plants around anymore, even in her sacred shrine.
I once ruled an empire in this jungle. To see it now, broken and scattered... It pains my heart. I'll have to restore that empire. In time...
Zyra turned back to Nidalee. "In any case, what are you doing here? Not many kitty cats wandered this far into the jungle in my previous life."

"Just prey." She sighed through gritted teeth, her spear pointed to the path which the beast had taken, but the spear shook - she was trying to fight the growing urge to itch, as well as a sudden pang of hunger. "It's gone now. I lost it. I should be more careful next time."
Her legs were red with claw marks, her mind told her to stop but she couldn't. In fact, she wasn't quite sure if the leaf was working. She stood up and spat out, trying to get the bitter taste out of her mouth. "Are you sure this works? Can't trust you very much." She observed carefully Zyra's every movement, in case of an... attack. Or anything of the like.
