At the very heart of Freljord was its capital, Rakelstake. A village where Lissandra of the Ice Dervish Tribe once lived but has opened her home to the Frost Archers and the numerous barbarian tribes littered around the icy lands. The city is surrounded by high, frosty walls with lakes that are frozen all year 'round. The mountains also protect the city from harm, and from any wayward avalanches. Some Freljordians protect the wall by scaling the high sides and standing on top, scouting.
Many of the denizens reside in homely caves carved from the rocks themselves while others prefer to pitch large tents which are specially designed to withstand many of Freljord's constant snowstorms. Many of the places are connected by stone paths, though using ice boats are a popular method - skating across the lake in boats with, well, skates. Though some prefer to use the hidden paths that are made specifically for those that like neither option.
In the middle of the city lies the great Ice Palace itself, home to the King and Queen of Freljord. Also molded from ice and rock, the outside seems fragile yet many know it to be impenetrable. Just outside there is a large ice crystal with steps leading up to its base. Nobody really knows what it is, and whether or not the King or Queen knows, is left unsaid as well.

The air in front of the palace gates started to become warmer, practically suffocating, right before turning into a ring of purple light. Kassadin strode out of said ring, which then collapsed upon itself, returning the nearby air to it's correct temperature. Some of the locals stared at him in awe, few of them even ran away in terror. Kassadin gazed up at the sun to get a rough estimate of the current time.
They must not have arrived yet. Kassadin turned his back to the door, paying attention to the road in front of him. He could afford waiting for them, but not for too long. The sound of his loud breathing reverberated across the village, so it would be pretty easy to find him by following the source of the noise.

Fortune's boot's clicked against the ice steps as she ascended up them, looking around, noticing the guards who were at the door and approaching them "What business do you have here, Bounty Hunter.." they said, narrowing their eyes slightly. "I tracked a contract here.. and I need to speak with either Ashe or Tryndamere. I'd rather not go around shooting random places up, and I doubt they would like me doing at as well." The guards looked at one another "Fine.. but we will escort you" Fortune simply smirked and gave a hand gesture "Lead the way"

Ashe had been informed of her unexpected guest before the city even came into view - her scouts had sent a message, though it was not until she had reached the stone walls was she told that the Champion Kassadin was currently standing stock still within the city. She knew why he was here - the Void was approaching, and whilst not on swift wings, she must act before it was too late. While his presence unnerved her people, it was a welcoming sight for her. She knew that the Voidwalker had every reason to fight, and he knew their power.
She quickly made her way to the Palace, motioning for the scouts to rouse any guard and fighter that was not yet awakened - though that in itself was a near impossibility. The entire city was in an upheaval. Word of the invasion had not gone unheard. Ashe knew that she would have to calm the city down. Tell them that though Tryndamere was fighting on a different front, she and the allies she hoped to procure would do everything in their power to protect them. The Void was currently situated deep in Sejuani's territory, and though their Tribes were at an impasse, Freljord was still Freljord.
"Voidwalker," Ashe called out, shaking her thoughts free from any distraction. Her voice was clear and firm. "It is a relief to see you."

Another guard halted them before they could even take more than a few steps from the grand doors. "Queen Ashe and King Tryndamere are busy preparing for the Void invasion - for your sake, I hope you've heard." He was skittish, and understandably so. King Tryndamere was meant to be in Icathia, and Queen Ashe had just returned. "If you wish to speak to the Queen, she is currently conversing with the Voidwalker," he gestured towards the door once more. "But I suggest you leave your bounty alone. No doubt he will be swallowed up by the Void if he runs far enough."

Sarah raised an eyebrow "The void..? I'm sure the girl needs help dealing with that.." Sarah sighed and scratched her head "Fine, I'll speak with her when Mr. teleport guy gets done.." She then sat on the stairs themselves and waited for Kass to finish.. or the void to show up, which ever happened first.

With the Queen’s approval Tekun had an area outside of the Palace cleared out and marked off in order to create an appropriately sized drop off zone for the expected Preserver forces. The Freljordian had managed to send word to his allies with great haste and it didn’t take long for them to acknowledge that they were needed in the north.
Reinforcements arrived through a series of teleportation. Each one included four Dragoons, all fit for artic warfare, a single summoner as well as two supply crates. While mass teleportation was possible, although costly, The Preservers nor Tekun had any desire to attract any unwanted attention nor did they want to over exhaust their own mages. If an attack was to occur and their summoners were incapable of acting it would only serve to burn through more resources. More casualties, more time spent fighting and fewer supplies to work with.
It took some time, but in the end a platoon that included 40 Dragoons, 10 summoners were on site. A small encampment had been set up in the drop off zone; it was temporary but needed for the time being as there was still more to do yet and a lot more planning. Slowly, Tekun’s expression turned into that of silent joy. A smile crept upon his face as he watched the summoners work in conjunction together to bring in much more larger things. Large barreled cannons emerged, one at a time. The result of their efforts produced five artillery cannons that sat heavily upon Freljordian soil. The head of the platoon approached and promptly saluted his ranking officer. The salute was returned and both men went at rest.
“General Valos. It’s been a while. I’m glad to be working with you once more. At the current time, this is what we can spare but there will be more. The Void isn’t going to know what hit them.” Captain Williams grinned. He was a youthful man from Demacia, a veteran of the fight who had joined their cause about two years ago.
“Agreed. I only hope the Institute doesn’t turn a blind eye to this like they have to Shurima. The sooner we put an end to this the better. They’ve only just started bringing in forces.” His eyes glanced towards the cannons. “Five of them. Good enough, they might be outdated but they certainly do the job. We’ll nip this in the bud before it gets any more out of hand. Remember to make sure all the equipment is cared for correctly. I’ll be pissed if anything we need gets ruined Gene.” Tekun grinned; his tone held only the slightest bit of an edge. It was intended to be a bit of a joke, but at the same time a reminder to make sure nothing broke.
“Understood sir. We adjusted everything before we arrived but we’ll take extra care to make sure everything stays in working order. We only just arrived; we still have a bit to bring in yet.”
“You’re dismissed Captain. Don’t take too much time with the matter. I ‘ought to inform Queen Ashe of the progress.”

Kassadin respectfully nodded at Ashe as she approached. Queen Ashe.He paused to breathe. I would have preferred we met under different circumstances, however. He turned his head towards the drop zone. I see you have acquired reinforcements. His head turned to gaze at the archer once more. However, these won't be enough. We need to obtain as many allies as possible. Have you informed the other tribes? The Ursine? Especially the Winter's Claw tribe. I suspect the Void armies will attack their territories first. And if they succeed, that may very well be the beginning of the end.

Ashe politely refrained from stating that as fellow Champions, they had met more than a few times before. But she supposed Kassadin was talking about something completely different. She looked towards the catapults that were being brought in by Tekun and the Preservers, nodding as she pondered. "The Ursine have been notified, but they will not be traveling to Rakelstake by my knowledge." Ashe inhaled sharply, "You are correct in that statement. They have already begun their assault on Sejuani's people - we are to send a force to stop the Void right there as quickly as possible. I have also sent word that I will be offering my assistance to the Winter's Claw - whether they want it or not."
She looked towards Tekun, calling out, "When will the preparations be done?"

The Immortal Soldier approached with haste as Ashe called out to him and from the looks of it, the Void Walker himself had arrived upon the scene.
“The Preserver’s 2nd “Generic” Platoon has arrived on site. 50 Infantry men and 10 summoners are at your disposal at this time, as are 5 artillery cannons. Right now we’re setting up outside the palace and organizing a bit more. Captain Williams, the head of Generic Platoon is seeing to the final touches for that. We’re currently looking into what other resources we can pull. I’m hoping to get a Company of about two hundred up here within two days tops. In addition to supplies, and a couple other nice things that will make the Void go crawling back to their Broodmothers.”
Tekun smirked and let out the slightest of laughs before looking towards Kassadin, his eyes were almost sizing up the Void Walker and extended a hand.
“General Tekun Valos of the Preservers and of Freljord. I think this is the first time we’ve met Kassadin. We’ve been fighting this fight for three years and we’re more than happy to do so.”

Kassadin nodded after Ashe answered his question, and then turned his head towards Tekun as he walked towards them. Kassadin stared at him while he informed Ashe of the situation. His loud breathing stopped momentarily to make way for his voice. The so called "Preservers of Valoran", yes. I am impressed that you've managed to outlive the Void for three years - Kassadin lowered his head to gaze at Tekun's extended hand, and then raised it again to look him in the eye. The rest of his body did not move a single inch. ...But you should quit doing so while you still can.

"Right. And let my homeland go to hell. Maybe you should tell that to those who live in the desert lands who are being plagued by these monsters. Someone is going to have to fight them eventually." Tekun took the lack of a handshake as an insult, his expression grew dark and a bit flustered as he balled his hand into a fist and brought it to his side.

Kassadin perceived rage in the man's tone. He would have raised an eyebrow if Tekun had been able to see past his mask. Save your anger for the Void, general Valos. I apologize if I have offended you - it was not my intention. Men like you should not risks their lives against the Void on a daily basis. Such a task is a burden that I must bear alone. He respectfully lowered his head towards Tekun, then turned to Ashe.
If you will excuse me, I should make sure Sejuani is properly preparing for the assault. Farewell. And in a purple streak of light, Kassadin disappeared.

A man could be seen approaching the guards in front of the Ice Palace. We was wearing clothes that Frejord probably wouldn't recognize, but it would make it clear that the man was a healer of sorts. He was carrying a latter of sorts, which appeared to be addressed to the King and Queen of Frejord.
Approaching the guards, the man walked up to the guards and spoke.
"I am here to deliver a message to the King and Queen of Frejord," he said, nodding to the guards as he spoke.
"There's only one thing that I know for sure is true: 'Truth is relative.'" -Jon
"What side you're on isn't of concern to me. What is of concern is that you're hurt, and I need to treat you for it." -Jon
"Contrary to what some believe, violence does not solve everything. In fact, it solves nothing." -Jon
Ashe barely noted the exchange, the words mere sounds against her ears as she ran over Tekun's response. It seemed like a lot, but it was not enough. He had done his best however, and she nodded faintly to show that she had heard. "Two days," she murmured to herself. Surely they could hold out for that long. Her warriors were accustomed to fighting in this weather, but the environment was neither a friend nor foe. If she was not careful, it would turn on them, just as the Gelid Vortex had done.
She clenched her fist lightly, glancing up as a the light sound of a bird's gentle wings reached her ears. A small avian that seemed to be encased in ice had flown to her, dropping a reply from her cousin. Ashe read over it quickly, grim determination set on her features. The bird lifted its wings, just as Kassadin disappeared, and burst into fine white powder. "We will have to move soon," Ashe said softly. "There has been no written reply from the Ursine, so we must hope that they have taken matters into their own paws."

The guards looked each other before one of them pointed the strange man towards Ashe, who was still standing near Kassadin and Tekun. She spotted the action quickly, excusing herself from her current company before striding over. "Send word that Sejuani has accepted my offer," was her brisk order, to which the guards quickly nodded and hurried off. They knew what they had to do.
Ashe turned to the stranger, and while her voice remained polite, there was an edge to it that betrayed her urgency. "Welcome to Rakelstake; I assume you are not here for a vacation. As you can see, there is something we must attend to and as such, I advise you to speak quickly."

The man was directed to Ashe, and when she spoke, he nodded and spoke quickly, but crisply, only saying what was needed.
"Your majesty, I have come to simply deliver this message to you," Handing over a folded paper, which contained a simple telegram; as there was no telegram in Freljord, however, the note had to be transcribed into writing and delivered the rest of the way on foot. Upon handing over the note, the man simply gave a crisp salute and stood at attention, waiting for the response to the message.
The contents of the telegram went as follows:
Your Majesty Queen Ashe,
The city-state of Piltover has received word of the Voidal invasion of lands under your city-states control and the subsequent threat to your city-state, and has resolved that it will not simply let the League alone deal with the threat your kind face. Thus, the Piltovian government has voted to approve the deployment of the Piltover Medical Combat Corps to assist Freljord in combating the invasion. The force is on stand-by, simply awaiting the permission of Freljord to deploy. Upon arrival, command will be handed over to Freljord for the duration of the emergency.
Respectfully, Jonathan Chief Medical Officer, Piltover.
