There are no known records of the Void. There are only myths, legends, and studies. The only proof we have of such a place lies in the existence of monsters like Cho'Gath, Kog'maw, and Khaz'ix.
The closest known contact with the Void by humans has been made by two mages: Kassadin and Malzahar. Kassadin, who learned of untold horrors within Icathia, was so warped and torn by learning of the Void that his life was changed forever. He resisted, refused to let the Void corrupt him, and through unknown abilities managed to retain his self. Malzahar, who was led to Icathia through powers of foresight, was consumed entirely by the Void, and now seeks to bring Runeterra further towards his ideals. These off-hand encounters with the Void are all scholars have on record, and its power is well-respected, able to empower two mages so impressively.
The only other known contact is a young girl. One woman who was sacrificed in a ritual to the Void, was grabbed by a shadowy hand and taken, never to be heard from again. This girl, who happened to be the daughter of the previous man, Kassadin, is presumed dead by all authorities: she was ill prepared for such a sacrifice, had no training in any magical studies whatsoever, was not physically or mentally exemplary in any way, and was sent with little more than the clothes she wore on her that day. In such a world where Cho'gath lives, there is no doubt in any Runeterran's mind that her life ended quickly, and unfortunately.
This is her story.
