It has been a long time since Ahri was traveling this empty road, filled with nothing but brown mud and grey rough stones. Her legs were trembling, exhausted by the long walk she has initiated since a few days now. But why would she leave Ionia? Ahri wanted to discover new places, and widen up her knowledge about humans and their society, she was curious to see the different people that lived around Valoran, mainly because, she wanted to get ready for the day where she will become fully human herself.
The view of this path was strange... It was a desolated landscape, void from any life form and veiled by a thick, sinister fog. The trees were all dead, ravaged by some sort of magic that annihilated their lives and left nothing but their corpses standing there like scarecrows to scare off the weak minded, they were as thin as a match, covered up with black stains where the crows could easily go unnoticed if they ever perch on it. It was a very uncomfortable place for someone like Ahri to wander in, but she could feel the fresh breeze of an exotic land coming from the north and this is where she was heading.
She was wearing her usual attire but, she had something new on her. The red scarf that she recovered back at the festival when the assassin has been kicked out from there. The scent was still emanating from it, sticking on her skin as if it was her own. She was hoping that maybe one day, she could have another chance to meet up with him again, because so many questions were left unanswered and her curiosity was more eager than ever.

Hiding made the assassin very nearly sick to his stomach, but at this point, it was a necessary evil. No sensible man, or even beast, would dare tread upon these devastated lands without reason. Even carrion was hard to come by here, seemingly swallowed by the ominous fog that pervaded the ground and choked life from things. Of course, none of this really occurred to the assassin as he lounged, exhausted, under the largest tree he could find.
Darkness ringed his eyes, sleep was but an artifact of a bygone era in his life, though thankfully his face was covered by his deep purple hood. Echoes of an unnecessary death haunted his every restful moment and stole away his sleep. How long he had been hiding in these vanquished woods was no longer an issue, days blended into nights back into days and rest wouldn't come. He'd been here long enough and he'd stay here. There was nowhere else that was particularly safe.
He kept to himself, not touching anything he didn't have to and only leaving when he had to. He knew he could follow the brigade of rebels he'd claimed to support, but their claims were empty and dead. They knew nothing. It should be anger, it occurred to him, that he felt now, but it was too muted and dead. He wasn't certain he was talking about the ground around him or himself. "Pathetic, really. You're better than this." He didn't know if he was taunting himself or if he'd simply gone insane and the woman who seemed to gain a completely new life in his mind was speaking, it was impossible to distinguish anymore.
It spurred an internal conflict within him, words dripping out of his mouth without any form of check or balance, though only half the conversation left his mind.
"You know nothing of my work or my goals..."
"Nonsense. It's all you think about anymore."
"I have no time for your distractions."
"They aren't my distractions, you know what I am."
"Just another body, cut down prematurely by my hands. Yes, I know what you are.
"Ah-ah-ah. I'm more than that, Talon... Or should I sa-"
"Speak that word and I end your torturous existence the only way I can."
His maddened eyes roved the fog as though searching for a way out yet finding nothing, he slumped back against the trunk of his new home. Comforting in a way, but not nearly enough so to bring him the sweet embrace of sleep. He glanced down at the armblade that he once loved, now reviled. It was stained with dirt and blood, its edge nicked and uncared for. All of his blades had ended up this way. A pity. They would hurt more if they cut someone like this.
His head slumped to the side slightly and he found himself in the twilight of semi-conscious sleep, eyes half-lidded. It was a sweet release from the hatred, but it wasn't enough to stop those panic-stricken eyes from jolting him awake and tearing a muffled yelp from his lips, driving a single being away, a tiny lizard that skulked across the detritus that was the ground below.

Ahri's feet carried her across these dead lands, every single step was followed up by a scratch-like noise that came from the black tainted sand that covered the ground underneath her legs. She murmured to herself a couple of words of annoyance, a frown hanging upon her expression as she started to feel exhausted from the walk, but she couldn't just stop here and lay around this desolated ground, because she somehow felt like this place wasn't safe at all until she reached that exotic forest that was still a few miles ahead.
Her thoughts were clearly numb for now, she was just thinking of leaving this place as soon as she could, mainly because she started to feel quite uncomfortable in her skin by looking around at the pitiful view of the trees and the gray heights that were covered by the cloudy veil, blacking out every single blue pitch of the sky while forming an impenetrable barrier, where the sunlight couldn't go through at all. The fog made it hard to distinguish the different forms around her, it was thick and heavy, but she somewhat felt a presence nearby thanks to her cunning senses.
She started to sniff the air, slowly recognizing the familiar scent that was similar to the scarf. She froze there for a moment, her eyes darting around her to see if there were any suspicious individuals nearby and decided to follow the tracks of the odor as soon as she spotted the exact location of its origin, while keeping her guards up just in-case this little trip might end up badly.

Their adventure began suddenly with their departure from the woods. Thomas barely had enough time to pack his supplies before they were off, he stopped for a moment and sighed. Hopefully he could trust Lucas and Sean not to burn their house down while he off on this journey, he pulled down the hood on his jacket and began walking once more.
Thomas observed the land he found Ahri leading him into, it intrigued him how different this world was from his own. Even though this land wasn't an ideal paradise it was still a new experience. For a second he thought about why Ahri had chosen this place to begin their journey together. taking a moment to get a reading on her aura with his gift he sprinted beside her and spoke nonchalantly.
"When we get to him i'll stay back. Gift is telling me you two have some unfinished business, i'll leave you to it."

Talon's head had curled forward again, his body forcing sleep upon him in the time it took for the two to find him. It was a full collapse, making him nearly invisible against the tree, save for the sounds of shivering and fear. The sleep was utterly still except for the tremble at the ends of his extremities.
The sound of other voices mingled into his nightmares, distorted by his ruined rest into further taunts and chants. Memories of the woman's pleading eyes flooded his consciousness and drowned his will to live. Nothing could change what he had done, nothing at all, and it was killing what little human was left within him. He looked like hell, hair a matted mess from the days he'd spent alone in this wasteland, his face smeared with dirt and grime. He was paler then he had ever been before, and looked as though he were developing some kind of sickness as well.
It was almost exactly like his childhood, only with more self-loathing and contempt for everything he understood. Luckily, that was consumed by his rest, however brief it was.
