In the Ironspike Mountains, on a few trails between the vast tundras of Frejlord and the city of Piltover, a few intrepid travellers test themselves by taking the mountain paths. It takes great courage or great planning to undertake such a journey, and almost never alone. Hunters from Frejlord who wish to trade in Piltover, or perhaps adventurers from the City of Progress, are the most frequent travellers. After all, one can only guess as to the thrill of traversing such a place.
Today, a small band of strangers would make the attempt, and with them was a young woman with a cheerful mood. Elenwe Tray’neth, the wandering merchant and adventurer, after a brief stay in Piltover, found herself two mules and packs filled with goods. She possessed a rich grey fur coat and travelling boots among her possessions, having anticipated a journey to Frejlord... and the journey after all, is as important to her as her destination.
Dusk slowly came over the Ironspike trail, and only the foolish or cold-immune would dare travel at night. Predators are said to haunt the passes, beasts of fang and claw able to rend steel like paper, while Mountain trolls ambush and eat the unwary. The Mountains were slowly being filled by such distant howls, of creatures yet named. Furthermore, Elenwe had informed the group that the path far ahead was blocked by a blizzard, and to continue the journey was to invite a cold, lonely and painful death by hypothermia.
And so the group of strangers would come across the Dusk Lodge, a fairly large hunting lodge aptly named as travelers often bargained to stay the mercilessly cold mountain night there. The Lodge itself was run by a rather eccentric pair of generously moustached Noble brothers, Demacians from the look of them, and their hunting men-at-arms.
The lights of the lodge began to light, and invitingly warm. A Bonfire outside was also started, to ward off the chilling darkness. Elenwe breathed a sigh of relief, and immediately went ahead of the group, to have her mules settled in the stables and to trade her wares for a stay at the Lodge, as did the other mercantile members.
What the Strangers’ travelling with her planned... up to them.
After the absence of any Freljord representative on the audience of the arrow of retribution the league was concerned about the lack of new from the city. There were some summoners ready to act even without the direct orders of the league itself but out of common sense after all there were reason to think that some was going on there. At least that is what Adel though before embarking herself on a trip to Freljord something that she was regretting already. On her way she had visited her home in Zaun to pick up some tools and provisions for the trip and before too long she had been assaulted by some criminals that she repelled. After that while passing through Piltover she had herself run over by some strange looking vehicle. During her trip through the iron Spike Mountains she had been attacked by at least 30 wild beasts and 5 bands of bandits. And if that was just too little she found herself on the middle of a storm and with a broken compass courtesy of the mountain bandits. Sight if at least I had realized the compass was broken earlier I could have done something about it…well a loss is a loss there is nothing I can do now but maybe die. She thought to herself as she walked not aimless but following her sense of direction she knew that it would most likely lead her to trouble but with some luck those troubles could speed up or slow down her demise. Before long she found herself in front of a fairly large hunting lodge…maybe she had good luck this time? Anyway she entered the lodge and collapsed in the floor. “[Sorry for breaking in]” she said to no one in particular without picking herself from the floor. “[Could someone please close the door immediately? I think I might die frozen here]”
Elenwe was in the middle of haggling when she saw Adelheid come in. She quickly came over to close the door behind the summoner, and slowly propped her in a chair. She opened one of the bottles in her pack, poured her a cup, then let her drink some warming cinnamon-mead to warm her up.
“Are you alright, miss? I hope you are, the weather is simply not agreeable with travel. Oh, and the drink is worth five valor.”
“[Well since you are charging me I don’t need to thank you]” She said as she raised herself from the floor in one movement without using her hands. “[Here you got your money]” Then she proceeded to take the beverage out of her hands and put some coins in them. “[Could you tell me if there is any particular news from Feljord? Oh and would you have a compass that could you sell me?]” After saying this she sat on the chair that the other girl had brought to her and drank slowly from it. “[Oh by the way thank you for the hot drink what’s your name?!] “ There was something wrong with the way that she acted and even though she smiled the whole time that smile never meet her death eyes.
The common hall of the hunting lodge was large, likely able to entertain up to a dozen guests. Thus far, Elenwe, Adelheid and a trio or merchants were there. On the wall, trophies were hung, as well as large calibre rifles meant for big game. A great fire was going in the middle of the room, in a fire pit, though no food was being cooked- after all, to eat, you must hunt.
“Apologies, serah, but I too am heading towards Frejlord and know nothing of that place. I do not sell compasses... but I do offer my company freely for travels, as I do not need a compass, only company and stories to pass the time.” She responded to her first inquiries, returning her goods to their places.
Spooks liked introductions. She sat on the table beside Adelheid, and with open arms introduced herself like a minstrel, complete with a bow. “I am Elenwe Tray’neth, I am a wanderer, an entertainer and a merchant! I have many fine wares to sell or trade though. Perhaps you’d be interested...”
Spooks sighed, looking around the lodge, and all the stuffed animal trophies on the wall. “I suppose we’ll be staying here for the night though and longer, depending on the weather... The owners are rather tight lipped. I suppose if one shared their interest in hunting they’ll warm up to their guests.”
Adelheid listened attentively while one of the girls introduced herself and even give her a small applause after it. "[Well that’s shame but I would love to have some traveling companions…]" Then suddenly tears started to flow from her eyes even though her expression didn’t changed a bit. "[Sorry it’s…just that no one has ever invited me to anything] [Most people that know me says that I bring bad luck and misfortune to anyone around me] [Plus my way to act tends to creep and gross people out.]" Then as soon as it started her tears stopped and cleaned her face. "[Well is not like I can blame them since is the truth any way if you still want my company we can travel together tomorrow.] [Oh yea before I forget It. My name is Adelheid and as you can see by my clothes I’m a summoner.]"

Almyra had decided to wander once more to Frejlord. Her journeys to Frejlord were among the very few ones she actually planned, due to the harsh conditions. Despite its harsh climate, Almyra enjoyed visiting Frejlord. It was quite chaotic, and the chaos was far more visible here than it was in other places. The mountain peaks were far less subtle in their affect of the patterns of a storm than the wings of a butterfly were, thus their ripples were clear and sharp, and their strings shown brightly, almost to the point where her senses were overloaded with their beauty. Her only navigational tool was an old, worn map she had acquired some time ago. On top of her usual tattered clothing, she wore a simple animal skin, of what type she did not know, but like the rest of everything about her, it had traveled far and been through much. She had noted this lodge was on her particular route, and recognized the chances of safely making it to a further shelter without staying at this one were .0037. So she walked in, it was blatantly obvious she was a wanderer, probably poor. She seemed fascinated by the place, appearing to study everything about it as she entered. She walked over to the fire and began to warm herself while she looked around at the occupants, studying them, but saying nothing.
Riniac silently flew over the countryside, his wings currently a dark slate gray color with the bottom edges being black. He was headed towards Freljord for a simple reason: he hated the cold and wanted to overcome that. A satchel hung from his left hand, carrying all of the supplies he'd need for the trip. It was getting too dark the fly, and even if it wasn't he doubted he could make it through the freezing northern winds. So Riniac decided he'd book at an inn for a night, then set off on foot. He landed not too far from the place, folding his wings back robes and tossing the satchel over his shoulder. He tentatively pushed open the door, his hood masking his face, though the gold of his eyes was slightly visible through the darkness.
Well, if you say you bring bad luck, then today is your day. I have been known to bring much good luck to the company I keep!” Elenwe said, reassuring the crying Adelheid, being too bright and caring to let anyone feel sad around her.
“What is... a summoner?” Elenwe asked Adelheid, an expression of sincere curiosity on the young gypsy’s face. The witch had never heard of those before.
Meanwhile the storm around the lodge slowed, though the blizzard further down the path raged.
The two noble hunters came into the lodge, a pair of middle aged men with finely groomed beards, and wearing pristine white hunting clothes fitting of their status. They cleared their throats to call over their guests.
“Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. It’s come to our attention we’ve gotten more guests than we have supplies for, and we’d like to recommend a solution.” The taller one with the monocle said; continued by his shorter, rounder, pipe smoking fellow.
“Yes, as this is a hunting lodge we’d like to invite anyone capable to join us on a hunt in the dusk to early midnight. We will waive any fees for those who help us bring down a mountain elk, the others will have to pay our steep lodging fee. So... what say you? Is there any among you capable of the hunt?”
The travelling merchants shook their heads. They were not hunters, so they settled with paying the steep price- as expensive as the most lavish hotels in the city. Two wandering mercenaries who stayed though, stood up and heartily agree.

Almyra was looking around the room and suddenly noticed Adelheid. How had she not noticed her earlier? She was... unique. Almyra had seen nothing like her ever before. She simply stared at Adelheid. She seemed to be affecting the universe in a most strange manor, she would have to get closer to study her, perhaps even talk to this mysterious person. For now though, she just remained staring, not seeming to care about how obvious it was, or that it might bother her. Suddenly, the two hunters entered and spoke of how joining them in a hunt would allow her to stay for free. She would have to do this, since she had no money to pay for lodging. Somewhat disappointed, she brought her gaze away from Adelheid and looked toward the hunters. "I will help you in this hunt. I have experience in hunting."
Stepping off to the side as the hunters entered, Riniac lowered a hand into his satchel, searching around for money. While not normally one to have money, he did have enough gold to restock on food in Freljord, and maybe to stay at a cheaper inn. But this place? Not in the slightest. Although, with the hunters' current offer, perhaps he could manage to stay. Withdrawing the empty hand from the satchel, Riniac walked into view of the hunters, brushing back his robes to put his hands in his pockets. "If all you're after is an elk or two, I'll pitch in."
“Then you must be quite the lucky person… “While saying this Adelheids face darkened and her smile banished for a moment for the first time. “[Did I say something?] [Sorry I was lost in thought] [Yes summoner’s we are a special type of mages and the protectors of peace and justice or something][Just kidding we are mages that use summoning magic and do other things that have to do with politics or…something.]” During the attack of verbosity of Adel’s part she had already recuperated her usual mannerisms. Then she heard about the hunters talking about how one could get a free night if they helped on the hunt of an elk or some other beast. “” Then she saw a girl staring her from the other side of the room. “[Hey jerk why don’t get closer to get a better look?! Heck we could even talk about why you are staring me like I’m five footed rabbit.]” Then Adelheid paused for a minute and said. “[Just kidding why don’t you get closer so we can talk for a minute? I feel like I have seen your face somewhere but I can’t put my finger on why.]”

Almyra was going to wait for the hunters to respond, but when the girl addressed her, she could not resist the urge to speak to her. She walked over and tilted her head, clearly studying her as she spoke. "I do not believe we have seen each other, and I have good memory. The chances of me forgetting one like you are .0046. I apologize if you took offense at my observation, but... you are different... very different from anyone I have ever seen. Who are you? I must know."

“[Don’t worry I’m used to be treated like a weird animal rather than a person] ” Adelheid stood from her chair and walked towards Almyra she got her face as close as possible to examine the woman not caring about personal space. “[Then it must be an odd feeling of familiarity and no more?]” She said as she tilted her head. “[Well it doesn’t matter at all]” Then she put her index finger on her check and said. “[I’m me and there is nothing more to it.]”
The noble hunters nodded, seeing a pair of rather muscled, bearded and burly mercenaries with bows, and the more unusual guests accompanying them. They note that the summoner was coming “Right, then I suppose you should all get ready. We’ll meet by the bonfire once everyone’s acquainted. With one of the summoner folk with us this should be a snap. The others seem rather... unique as well.”
“Quite, quite, old chap. I’ll go get the dogs.” The younger hunter with the pipe said, opening the door to the cold, still wilderness of the lodge’s vicinity.
“I assume you won’t be coming along, merchant?” The taller hunter asked, stroking his moustache as Elenwe stood up and joined the hunters’ conversation.
“No, but I will help with the hunt.” She said, rather cheekily.
“Well that’s... a bit confusing. How can you help without coming with us?” He asked, confused.
Elenwe pointed out the window, towards the far woods. “Down by the frozen river there’s a pair of large elk grazing and getting ready for the night. A lone frost sabertooth is stalking them, but if you go now you can catch the elk and scare off the cat.” She suddenly explained.
“Well... um... that’s quite impressive. How would you know that?” He said, not thoroughly convinced at the girl’s information or how she knew that...
Elenwe winked and turned around, going to rejoin the merchants to barter some of her spices for their goods. She was well practiced in haggling indeed, and wanted two shares of precious beads for her spice.
The hunter said no more, and proceeded outside. They waited by the bonfire, a pair of great muscular hunting dogs with them, once everyone was ready. “So, before we begin, can we have an idea of your abilities? Some of us will go after the elk, others will scare off predators... assuming that strange merchant girl is correct.” Asked the taller hunter.
