Glancing around from above, it didn't take Riniac long to notice the elk running towards his previous location. He clapped his wings together, forming a blue sphere of light in the air to signal the others. Hovering down lower, he began looking at the elks. He could try a few simple spells to subdue them, but normally when something had the word 'Dire' in the name that meant they didn't exactly fall quickly. Now just above the treetops, Riniac began forming a Barrier spell to keep the elks where they were. For now, at least.
Gunshot rang out again, a bullet streaking towards the elk. The bullet caused a large wound, but the creature survived. The hunting dogs descended upon them, uncharacteristically large and brave, and began attacking, biting at their limbs to bring them down.
Even when kicked by the massive hooves of the elks, the dogs shake it off and continue attacking. “Well, what are you waiting for, mage? Deliver the finishing blow!” The hunter called out, as he was reloading.
The Elk eyed the dogs with an understandable frustration, attempting to trample them, while they fought and struggled to smash through the arcane barrier.
Meanwhile with the other group...
The large humanoid finally came into view. It was a hunched creature, one hand on the ground, another on a large branch. “Go.... go away... leave the mountain! Leave now! Not for you humans! Danger...” He said, in a guttural accent of the common tongue. It was... a troll. Strange thing was, the troll didn’t attack, but was warning the group.
“Monster! Kill it!” But before anyone could react, the hunter shot at the troll’s direction.
The large troll screamed out in pain, and charged the hunter who shot him, still shouting. "GET OFF MY MOUNTAIN, YOU MONSTER!"

Almyra immediately fired her crossbow as the troll began to charge, the magical bolt would vanish as soon as it had penetrated as far as possible, though this would probably not be a good thing, since the troll would be able to begin healing the wound. She also launched a chaos chain at it, and would wait until it was about to strike someone to pull it off its feet toward her, or if it was attacking her, she would step out of the way and have it be pulled such that it would fall and fly past her.

“Go away danger” those were the words of the giant brute before attacking the group on response to the shoot. “Go away from my mountain monster” She understood it that thing was afraid of us but not only of us but something else. [Sigh it can’t ever be something simple isn’t it? I will always have to play the bad guy to get things going] she thought before “recalling” her gun and summoned a “Bola” and threw to the Troll feet’s on the moment when he was shifting his weight from one foot to the other to make sure it couldn’t use any strength.
With nothing more than his hand closing into a fist, Riniac's blue orb split upon itself, multiple projectiles flying downwards from it. Each one struck a different elk, sending them to the ground with relative ease. Floating down lower to the area, the summoner dropped the Barrier in order to cause the magic now in the elk to begin killing their minds. This would prevent anything from being physically damaged, while the elk were effectively subdued out of commission. Dropping to the ground next to one of the dogs, Riniac folded his wings back in, cracking his knuckles.
The Elk were easily taken down from the combined assault of the hounds and Riniac's psychic attack. Once the pair of mighty creatures were brought down, the hounds came over and clamped down on their throats, tearing out major arteries. The snow soon became stained with crimson as the elk bled to death.
"Jolly good show, mage! We'll have a fine barbecue tonight... Hmm. Want to help with this?" The hunter came over and began tying up the elk bodies with ropes, having his hounds drag them onto sleds brought over by lodge servants.
Meanwhile...
The troll tripped up and rolled in the snow as the group were kiting it with ranged attacks. It shouted and cursed in its troll language, shaking his fist. The pointed his large branch and spoke in the druidic tongue; for an instant the area smelled of ozone, as the hairs on everyone's bodies began to stand from static electricity. His staff crackled with energy, and a blast of lightning shot out towards the hunter, the area experiencing a loud thunderclap accompanying the lightning bolt. The hunter convulsed in place, then was hurled away towards the bushes by the electricity.
The troll, still prone, slowly crawled towards them. "GER'OFF MY MOUNTAIN, HUMANS! THIS IS NO PLACE FOR YOU!"
At the Lodge...
While the hunt was underway, the thunderclap caught Spooks's attention, stirring her from the pleasant dream she had about cats. She got off her rocking chair beside the fire, and stood at the window- with her clairvoyance, she slowly observed the hunt, curious as to what was now transpiring.
“[Tsk this is bad he could die]” Adelheid ran towards the hunter to see if she could still save him if he was still alive she would immediate use “All fiction” to undo his wounds that would not repair the mental shock but at least get him out of danger. “[Hey girl go there and see what that beast is speaking of it seems to be able to reason or at least intelligent enough to use magic]” she yelled at Almyra while running towards the hunter.

Almyra nodded, then began to approach the troll. Chaos energy remained visible around her hands, looking like green fire. She remained ready to create a shield or bind the troll with chains if she had to. She tilted her head curiously at the beast. "Why must we leave? What is the danger that you speak of? It is likely I have already calculated for it. 'Your mountain?' I believe that many are unaware of and do not recognize your claim."
Magically lifting the elk onto the sled, Riniac turned his head suddenly. A clap of thunder just went off... but there was no signs of bad weather. He unfolded his wings again, shivering in the cold. His eyes scanned the sky, searching for any signs of lightning. Riniac flicked his wrist around, more ropes crawling over to bind the elk to the sled.
The troll explained himself as he was slowly recovering his footing, checking the bolt that had pierced him earlier but was no longer there.
"Mountains are home of the trolls! Not for humans! or blood- BWAHAARGH!" He said. Despite his warnings, he seemed quite eager to start smashing the group with his large branch-staff; his speech was interrupted when a machete found itself lodged into the back of his throat, going through the other side. The troll only got angrier, as it screamed in agony removing the metal from his head.
The hunter who was supposed to be electrocuted was no longer there in the bush, meanwhile; he had miraculously recovered from an attack that should have killed a man ten times over. Now shirtless and his rifle useless, he drew his hunting machete to face the troll in unarmed combat. "Don't listen to it! Drive him off or kill him, doesn't matter! We leave this battle now!"
The other hunter shook his head to Riniac. "It's more important we get back to safety. This is the most dangerous part of the hunt- the blood of the elk will soon attract predators all around."
“[Well haha that would seem to be the wisest decision]” She said as she summoned her Ex-revolver again. Then without any warning she unloaded 3 rounds on the hunter’s chest. “[Would you be so kind to tell me how did you recuperated before? Or to show it now? Because wounds don’t disappear just like that]”

Almyra simply watched as the hunter spoke and was shot by Adelheid. She looked to the troll, more interested in what it had to say. She knew that Adelheid was capable of simply undoing the wounds she inflicted. She wished to know what the troll had to say. "It is not the home of blood? Also, we do not wish to maintain residence in the mountains, we simply wish to pass through."
Shrugging at the hunter's statement, Riniac began helping to pull the elk back towards the lodge. He'd earned his stay, but if the others didn't return soon he planned on going back out after them. Reforming his robes, he shivered again. "How long should it take us to get back with the extra weight?"
The older hunter gasped as he was shot. His wounds though, "I...I had electrical resistance... you... you would attack a noble..." The hunter collapsed, and rolled down the steep cliff, down into the river, leaving the troll in their company. He never expected to be turned on- did they know of their plan? Curses, he needed to move.
Those who would follow him though, would not see his body as it fell into the river- like he had completely disappeared.
The troll removed the machete from his mouth, spitting another mouthful of blood. "...Well why didn't you say you were travelers! bah, we should get you to safety! Come with me, unless you have others with you?"
"Not long, mage... my dogs will deal with the other elk." Indeed, for such normal sized creatures, dragging the sled with the elk they displayed great strength. The hunter himself proved quite capable, having only Riniac as his help with the other elk. Discreetly though, the hunter wondered what was happening with his partner. Of course, if anything happened, the important thing was sticking to the plan...
“[Oh it was just that…bad thing he rolled out of my reach]” Then she yelled at what was supposedly a dying noble “[Of course I would attack a noble I don’t care about things like that!]” Then she walked towards the troll and the girl that she asked to talk with the creature. “[Now seriously what was that thing?] [Since we were at the lodge I wasn’t able to see your normal human weaknesses on that thing]” Then she fell silent for a second and then said to the girl “[I…don’t think that I told you me name]” “[I’m Adelheid but both of you can call me Adel]”
