Caitlyn would find a playing card on her desk...how it got there no one knew. However, upon closer inspection she would discover it to be the "Joker" holding a rose. Underneath the "Joker" was "Twisted Fate" It seems the Cardmaster enjoyed prodding the detective.

Caitlyn moved to say something when the card appeared on her desk. She glared at it and let out an aggravated sigh. "Give me a moment, luv." She grabbed the card and crumpled it up before throwing it into her nearby waste bin. "Now he's just being cheeky..."
The sheriff walked over to her desk, opened her drawer and took out a ridiculously large box. It looked like it shouldn't have fit in the drawer, yet it did. She flipped it open and started combing through it. "No...No...No..."
Caitlyn delicately put the tools she did not want to the side. This included a pair of pink, leopard print fuzzy cuffs as well as a wickedly curved, thin blade. Eventually she placed a strange bottle of liquid on the table, accompanied by a hand pump and hose, along with some strange, waxy yet transparent paper. She placed every other tools away, clicked the box closed, and walked over to the stack of papers.
"My gut tells me something is wrong..."
Caitlyn held the bottle over the top of the papers, and started pumping the contraption. A fine mist started to spray out from it slowly but surely. Agonizing minutes later, she placed the transparent paper on the documents. Caitlyn slowly and deliberately pulled the paper off and stared at the results.
"...Mmmhm."
Caitlyn tapped her chin thoughtfully. She cast a suspicious gaze over at the duelist. "...Miss Laurent. Quick question, did your servant hand these to you by hand, or on a plate, or in a folder, or something?"

Jon approahes the station, his ever-present Options still floating behind him, and enters. He decides to sit down and wait for Caitlyn to be available. His face shows a clear sign of fatigue and stress, and it is evident that he really needs to communicate with the Sheriff. He is also carrying along a small folder of papers, which have the symbol of the Piltovian Hospital, but reveal nothing more.

Caitlyn looked over at the man who just arrived. She waved at him and stepped past Fiora, "Give me a moment, Miss Laurent."
The sheriff walked over to Jon and gave him a short but polite wave. "What can I do for you, luv? What..." Her eyes came across the folder. She clicked her tongue thoughtfully. "Well then, sir, what are you here for?"
Post by Jonathan Xiang-Lewis on Jan 16, 2013 20:31:56 GMT -5
Jon waved back.
“I’ve come here to bring to your attention an issue the Hospital has had to deal with. There has been a string of robberies that have plagued the Hospital. The robbers have focused on our medications used in our pre-treatments, and we are now nearing a shortage on said supplies. One of the papers I have here lists the medications that have been stolen.”
“Normally, I would tackle this issue myself, but due to the rising outbreak of the “SOLA” virus, I cannot redirect my attention from the research that is being conducted in the development for a cure. I hereby present all the other relevant documents and evidence the Hospital has acquired to you in this folder.” With that, he held up the folder to Caitlyn.

Fiora had been deep in though about the situation, not only did she have to come over to piltover but realizing that the documents had been "planted" there was another thing. It was Caitlyns voice that brought her back to reality.
"...Miss Laurent. Quick question, did your servant hand these to you by hand, or on a plate, or in a folder, or something?" She asked
"...I found zem on my desk. No one had seen anyzing before zat..." She muttered as her eyes trailed onto the documents.

Caitlyn took the folder from Jon while saying to Fiora in an all too calm voice, "Then you are under arrest, Miss Laurent, for the theft and holding of confidential papers." The sheriff started to flip through the papers she was given while she continued, "...Is what I would say if I jumped to conclusions in such a ridiculous manner. There are only two sets of fingerprints on those papers, Miss Laurent, mine and what appears to be yours. I could be wrong, it has been a few days since I last reviewed your fingerprints, but they are similar enough. That means whoever had gotten their hands on this has left not a trace. I would need to go to Demacia to investigate myself."
Caitlyn looked up at Jon and held a finger up to him, "That means for you, sir, I will dispatch Vi and a team of officers to help. Your situation looks like it needs a bit more force and some proper guarding as well as police work." She walked over to her desk, grabbed a quill pen that neatly rested in its placeholder and started writing on a piece of paper some instructions. "Give this to Vi, she won't refuse this order, and I will dispatch several officers along with her. They will stay at the hospital and guard your supplies for a week. If Vi is unable to complete this case, then I will come onto the scene, but I have the utmost trust in my partner. Go find Vi in her office, she's not on patrol or on break, give her the paper, and tell her it's urgent. I need to speak to Miss Laurent about something very quickly."
Caitlyn put the papers on top of her desk and handed to Jon the paper she had written. It read: Vi, in my office, NOW. Urgent.
The sheriff looked over at Fiora and pointed at the papers, "Now then, something else that strikes me as odd. You typically wear gloves, yes? Did you pick up the papers with your gloves on, or did you do it the moment you woke up carelessly?"

Jon took the paper and nodded.
"Alright, I'll pay her a visit, and thanks for taking a look," he responded. Then, with a final nod, he put back on his helmet and walked out of the police station, headed for wherever Vi might be.

Fiora crossed her arms, seemingly to be slightly offended, but now was not the time for Caitlyn's dry humor or for arguments. If this was something that needed investigation then thats what it took.
"It was my servants who informed me of zis...when i took a look at zem, I had worn my gloves in order to read zem, yes." She stated hoping that would satisfy the Sheriff.

Vi swung into the police office, wiping a bit of plaster off of her shoulder like it was no business. She jogged over to Caitlyn's office, being careful not to knock; last time she did, Caitlyn wouldn't stop telling her about the 'property damages' and the 'people hurt'. She didn't really pay much attention to her tirades, though.
"You wanted to see me, boss? I know I'm a bit late; some punk thought it was a good idea to try and take my wallet." She smiled, gesturing to a quivering mass of man huddled in a corner of the police station.

((and I'm back, luvs! Sorry about the wait!))
Caitlyn pointed at Fiora, then at the papers while speaking. "So if you were wearing gloves the entire time, how is it possible your fingerprints are on the papers? One moment."
The Sheriff walked over to her cabinet and started to rummage through files. She groaned as she bent over and started to look through a lower shelf, "Someone most definitely went into my files. Made a mess of my system..."
When Vi came in, she would be greeted by Caitlyn's rump. "Vi. Take the man into questioning, then report to your office, a certain medical officer, Jon I believe, is waiting for you. I recommended you and some enforcers for the job at hand and... There we go! Found them!"
Caitlyn propped back up and walked over to her desk, placing Fiora's file. She flipped it open and took out a sheet showing her fingerprints, and compared them side by side with the ones she had lifted off the paper. At first glance, they were nearly identical. "As you see, your fingerprints, not someone else's. Now luv, how is it possible your servant has the exact, if not almost the exact, same fingerprints as you do?"

Vi quickly left the office, directing for the man she'd wailed on to be brought in for questioning quickly before moving into her own office. She slammed the door shut before pacing in front of Jon. In her office, there was little more than an old desk, a pair of wooden chairs, a light, and a trashcan. She didn't spend much time there, and preferred that it stayed that way.
"So, you're Jon, eh? What's all the ruckus about? Oughta be something big...Caitlyn doesn't call me to the office that often." She adjusted the gauntlets quickly before sitting on her desk. "Speak up, don't be shy. Only criminals really have to be scared of...heh...swift justice, you know." The gauntlets hissed steam pleasantly to prove her point.

((I know you're busy RPing the Med Corps, Jon, but it would be great if I knew where I was going to be dragged by your little bio weapon that you're investigating.))

((Wow, I completely forgot about that plot-time. My bad, and thanks for giving me the heads up. As to the bio-weapon thing, it's actually seperate; the RP you're going to be involved with deals with robbers.))
Jon followed Vi into her office, a bit surprised at how it looked, but his mind immediately went to the issue at hand, and so placed the folder on the desk.
"Alright, since the folder there explains the actual details, I'll be brief and to the point as to the issue: there has been a string of high-profile robberies committed against the hospital, and the medical supplies that have been stolen are vital to the hospital's capability in treating its patients."
"However, the majority of the hospital's resources is currently tied up in looking into a new virus outbreak, and so it cannot spare the funds necessary to acquire the level of protection needed to prevent further robberies. As such, I came to the police station to see if they could provide assistance, and from there, I am now here, asking if you would kindly... catch, the thieves, if you will."
((I hope it's alright to pop in. It didn't say it was a closed RP =^.^=))
A slender black cat adorned in rather priceless looking gold ornaments could be spotted trailing behind Vi and Jon as they stepped into the Enforcer's office. She looked remarkably unusual particularly given that the golden lines around her eyes and other small markings in her fur seemed to be a part of her rather then anything attached. Otherwise, she seemed like any other normal house cat both in size, and behavior. She would sniff around and browse the area curiously, not seeming to be anything of a bother. Just perhaps a little out of place especially in a city like Piltover.
