It was known as the Grand Capital of the Ionian state, standing tall with its majestic green mountains and its rumbling waterfalls that came crashing down to the bottom level of the hills, letting out a beautiful melody that would relax the mind and appease the soul of those who'd listen to it. It was a mixture of beautiful colors, red, green, pink, and blue, something that the artists cherished with its blessing magnificent view. It was a painting brought to life, shining with its exotic, elegant colors perceived by the eyes of the Ionian citizens, decorated with its pink cherry trees, the hovering Sapphire crystals and the tall, majestic structures where certain Champions resided at.
It was paradise, a place where all the the worries of the human would vanish as soon as they would go through the main street; a place where the spirit would be pleased and the mind would be calm, serene and eased. The sound of the birds and the animals of the fauna would bounce through the hills and echo within the city itself, creating a lovely, sweet melody for the ears.
Irelia was in the main building that was located at the top of the giant stairs, sitting quietly in her office, looking at her schedule to see what must be done that day. Upon reading her notes, her fingers stopped at the name of a person she has met before.
"John Cole's first session..."
Said Irelia with a neutral tone. Her expression remained bold, showing no emotions whatsoever, but she was quite curious to see how things will go throughout this training session and she will determine whether she'll keep him under her wings or not.
John looked around, taking in all the sights and sounds as he approached the stairs, his eyes slowly followed them up to a building. A bit of snickering at his own misfortune of having to climb up said stairs. His coat flowed behind him as he ascended them. So this was it, this would be an interesting day for him. He'd either impress or disappoint Irelia, either way he was sure he'd do fine.
Today, he was wearing his battle attire or however it could be described as, of course the mask wasn't on, no point in hiding his identity, the hood itself was also down. He continued to ascend them a smile forming as he stepped closer to the building. This really was a beautiful capital. It was also his first time to said capital, which made finding the place slightly... He didn't get lost but it did take about thirty minutes to get his bearings of course.
Finally the top, he took a second to catch his breath and approached the door, this is it... He closed his eyes and slowly exhaled putting on a calm composure and pushed it open, stepping inside. "Daamn..." He muttered as he closed said door behind him, his eyes wide as they took in the entrance itself. Now the fun part... Finding her office. Good thing she did give him directions. He checked in at the front, giving his name and headed for her office. He approached the door and slowly opened it.
His eyes fell upon the Captain herself. He smiled and waved at her, now standing before her. "I'm here for my training." He stood straight, hands at his sides.

"Ah yes, now I remember your face, I was telling myself that I've heard this name before but I couldn't figure out who it was. Alas, it's not really important. You told me that you have what it takes to be my apprentice, or if I would say, personal student."
Irelia said with a formal tone as her gaze met his when she stood up from her chair. The sound of the wooden floor echoed off as her feet slammed down while she walked towards him, before resting on the edge of her desk, crossing her arms and coldly looking into his eyes while her voice spoke off with a feeling of determination and seriousness.
"Mind you, I hope you're not too tired of the long walk up the Placidium's stairs because if so, then you're not going to make half of the course I have prepared for you..."
"That I do.." John replied calmly, he continued to stand still or at least as much as he could. His fingers drummed lightly on his side as he watched her. He knew this wasn't going to be easy but... He needed it. What if he faced someone who wasn't just an incompetent small time crook. He already was decent enough at sneaking about when it was called for but... He still had potential for more, much more.
He chuckled and smiled, adding. "Oh that? That was just a warmup. Yup." It wasn't really a lie, maybe some of his ability dropped off a bit, either way. This could bring it back and of course improve it further and he still needed a damn alias, people have been questioning who the hell that guy was in black, who kept leaving gangs and bandits outside tied up at police stations. But he was completely going off topic so... His eyes once again focused on Irelia.

Irelia watched the man, seeing through his eyes the tiredness of his body, though he wasn't that tired, but the session will be hard. Irelia's blades once more appeared from behind her, their sharp edge staring into John's eyes as if it was questioning him. The Captain retracted her blades and chuckled, admittedly she was kind of nervous because she never had a student and she needed some tips on how to organize herself so that she wouldn't mess up too much and traumatize him from all the hard work she'll put him through. She motioned towards the door with her blades and spoke calmly.
"You have five minutes to find the training hall, I'll join you when I'm done with a few things student."
John continued to watch her, he was extremely curious about what was going to happen. Should he have written a will? He tilted his head as her blades came out again, it was strange... It was like they were almost apart of her in a sense or had a mind of their own maybe. He really wasn't sure but they were definitely watching him. He heard her start chuckling and glanced up smiling and chuckling back. While it wasn't that noticeable he could barely see a tinge of something... Was she nervous? He couldn't tell exactly but... It didn't matter.
He nodded at her. "Right, uh..." He stumbled a bit on words, unsure what to call her then decided to just shake it off and excused himself out the door. Oh God his first lesson, actually finding the training hall. What if he never found it? That would sure be embarrassing, right if he was a training hall where would he be. Probably in a big ass room with high ceilings. He continued along the halls sure he was getting closer, when he spotted someone standing around. He glanced at him and asked. "Where's the training hall?" Blunt, but he was sure he had... His mind trailed off as he glanced at his wrist-pad.
... ... ...
Two Minutes... That's bad. The man gave him directions, and apparently he was going the wrong way. Lesson learned, he was definitely not good at being a training hall, he gave a quick thanks and rushed off towards said hall, quickly squeezing past people and skidding at least once or twice to turn a corner. He finally arrived at the training hall and calmly walked inside, glancing around as he now waited for Irelia, or she was already there. Guess he'd find out soon enough.

Irelia patiently waited in the training hall, imagining the bad time John was going through right now to find this place, poor man he was surely panicking by now. A smile crept across her lips as she sat down on the cold wooden floor, her blades floating behind her as she started to meditate peacefully, enjoying the silence that reigned across the hall while the wind tapped on the windows that was facing her back.
The Captain took a deep breath of relaxation and kept on waiting... Still one more minute before time runs out and he still wasn't here, what a shame. Nonethless, she remained seated, her mind went into a state of peace, as her eyes slowly closed down, throwing her spirit into a rollercoaster of thoughts, either good or bad, because she had to rethink everything about herself and how she's going to carry on with her life.
As the man barged in the room, Irelia's eyes remained closed, her blades still floating around her in a perfect synchronized movement. They suddenly took a halt and stared at him before somehow beckoning at him to approach the Captain. Irelia remained frozen, not moving an inch of her body until her lips cracked open and she said, quietly.
John looked over at Irelia, she had indeed beaten him there. Could be worse, he could be late right? He walked closer to her as she spoke, still interesting how those blades of hers worked, it was almost as if they were just an extra limb, apart of her in a sense. He frowned and quickly replied. "Sorry, this place was a bit more difficult than expected to find apparently." He bit his lip and sat down in front of her, hesitant. Namely because he had no clue what was in store for him. His arms rested in his lap as he awaited her next words.
It felt slightly awkward staring at someone with their eyes closed, so he took the time to really take in the room he was in, every detail. Especially when he was going to be here for awhile.

Irelia stood up as the man approached her, her eyes slowly opening up as the train of her thoughts suddenly broke down. The Captain was quite unsure how she will deal with this but she had a couple of ideas behind her thoughts.
A heavy silence fell down within the room as her eyes analyzed the man, decrypting his thoughts and his possible strengths and weaknesses, before breaking the void with an order she barked out, pointing at a row of dummies with one of her blades.
"Show me what you are capable of, you got a limited time to take them all down with every technique you know."
John's head snapped to her as she gave the order, he slowly stood a confident grin slowly forming as his Bo came out in his right hand. He got into a running stance and charged at the first one, an uppercut with his left, followed by a jab with the staff aimed at the side of the head. He then finished it with a kick aimed at the head and moved onto the next one, his staff extended and swept the legs of the of the dummy knocking it to the ground. He stood over it and slammed the staff down against his forehead.
He grinned and approached the next dummy as his staff once again retracted, three quick jabs in succession and he moved even closer grabbing the poor thing's hand and elbow putting it into a lock and immediately breaking it. He dropped the arm and moved onto the next, extending the staff and slamming it down on it's head. He then proceeded to jab at its chest with the staff twice and retract the staff putting it away, he realized he might as well show his sword ability brought out the handle, squeezing it and the blade popped out. He stabbed into it's chest and moved onto the next one a quick slash down from shoulder to torso and a stab to finish. He squeezed the handle again and stashed it into his coat.
He turned around towards Irelia, breathing heavily waiting for her response. Of course he wasn't sure how much technique was in that. That might be the result of him having no real formal training, the only thing he had learned was of course the arm break but. At least it worked. He glanced back at the dummy who's arm he snapped, poor guy that was probably his writing arm too. A silent snicker and his eyes went back to Irelia, studying her face intently.

The Captain watched the man dashing around and beating down the dummies, truth was, it wasn't that impressive to her, it lacked style, strength, tactics... It lacked intelligence. While he did beat them down roughly and ferociously, they were nothing but lifeless, defenseless dummies, and a smart opponent would've avoided most of these strikes, which might cost John's life.
She crossed her arms and stared at the man as he looked at her, he could easily notice a slight glow of disappointment in her eyes. Her green globes shifted around the room while her expression remained blank, like any undead, empty from all emotions and impressions, before locking on John once again intently. Quietly humming under her mask, she started to wonder how she could train him, she questioned whether the Hitten Style would suit him or not. She wasn't too sure about her decision but she decided to go with it, having absolutely nothing to lose except maybe for her time but it didn't matter much for her right now... she would easily guess if he'll handle it or not.
Irelia dropped her arms to her side and lowered her mask, revealing her graceful lips and her well drawn cheeks. Her voice would echo in the room as it sprung against the walls. It was cold, mixed up with a mocking tone.
"I see how it is... Although your strikes feel powerful, you lack tactics and combat intelligence. A wise open would've cracked your skull open or stabbed you mercilessly in your heart. But this is why you're here no? To avoid such 'Tragedy' to happen to you..."
One of her blades would hover above her shoulder and hurl at a great speed towards John, passing over his head and stabbing the wooden plank behind him, letting out a spring noise as it stuck inside and flailed.
John clenched and unclenched his fists nervously as he watched her, slowly gulping as he could easily see the disappointment. But it was why he was here. He shook his head, trying to shake off a bad recent memory, sighing and blinking. He was definitely nervous. Today would be a day to either make or break him. Hopefully make, but in the end he had no clue what to expect. Least he liked surprises.
He was just a hint unnerved by her expression, it was... Different. Expressionless? He continued to watch her eyes and... It took him awhile to realize but they were mesmerizing. The green color was probably why.
His head tilted just an inch as her mask came down. He caught himself starting to smile and his mouth straightened back up. Hopefully she hadn't seen that... He calmly responded when suddenly the blade sped past. "Exactly wh-" His head instinctively ducked and he glanced back at the blade now stuck in a plank. "Oh adding emphasis. I definitely picked a good trainer." A smirk appeared as he finished his sentence.

Hearing his last statement, Irelia frowned, looking at him with a straight face. To say the least, she didn't know if he was mocking her or not, but she didn't care for that, people always underestimated her strength and different talents. The whole process didn't give her the results she wanted to see, surely the man was strong physically, but she wanted to see more and there's one way she could truly see if the man is worth of her mentoring or not.
The blade released itself from the wooden plank, returning back to Irelia's sword as they all forged back together and hovered by her side. Her eyes were closed for a few seconds of silence before they opened up again, darting a menacing glare at the man who stood before her, challenging his own eyes to look into hers before she took one step forward and said in a cold voice.
"I think we have to come down to this John, show me your strength and wit during this duel, and I'll tell you whether I'll take you or not."
John tilted his head as she frowned, maybe that came off wrong. A quick grimace showed before he returned to his normal calm expression. He had a feeling he knew what might be coming next. Hopefully it won't end like the last time he dealt with a champion. A slow exhale as he watched her. His eyes watched her blade as it formed, he really wasn't sure how he would deal with a weapon like that in combat.
He then felt as if someone was staring daggers into him. A chill went through his body and he turned back to meet her eyes. He stared into eyes, calmly, no fear. He gripped his staff tightly in his right, held out.
He nodded and smiled lightly. "I won't disappoint." He then waited for her to make her move.

Irelia darted a glare at the man, a glare that only a cold killer would throw out at his victims before he would mercilessly assassinate them, before launching herself at him, her blades ready to strike him in a swift slash across his stomach. The sound of steel echoed in the room as the globe lit up in a bright green color, the four blades of the sword formed an X shape, spinning like a windmill as they approached John's body.
Even though she looked aggressive and determined, Irelia had no intention to injure him, but the best way to see the man's strength was to place him on the edge and ignite his sense of danger within his mind and heart, pushing him to his limits to defend himself and to counter-attack with everything he had. The Captain knew exactly what she was doing, but was the man ready for what was coming up?
