The Journal of Justice had fans.
Lots of em. Fans all over trusted those guys with the insider scoop on all the important things, and they delivered. When tensions ran high in Kalamanda, the fans knew. When Kayle got sick, the fans cared. And when the Institute shut down the JoJ on accusation of conspiracy, the fans lost the biggest source of news that Valoran ever had.
Luigi Von Paparaz, he was one such fan. Not just any fan, though, oh no no...
He was a fan with money.
Lots of it. Getting dirt on the dirtiest of Noxians, Dealing politics with the less Royal of Demacia, advertisement to help the craziest of inventions in Piltover, selling info on those same inventions to Zaun... Von Paparaz knew how to get info, and he knew how to make money doing it, and these happened to be his two favorite things. To him, the Journal of Justice was an icon of respect. A team of nutcases with good writing skills that would go to any length to get a case. What could you not love? But respect or not, this mass media thing just wasn't his style, not with papers and fliers, anyway. No... any venture into that business would be with something new. Something sexy, fresh, and innovative. An idea guaranteed to make tons of money change the way Runeterra got its news forever.
The Valoran News Network, or VNN for short, was one such idea. Was it sexy, fresh, and innovative? Oh yes yes...
The VNN would be run on TV.
It all started several months ago. Von Paparaz was at a bar in Ionia he preferred not to name, drinking a drink he preferred not to drink. He had been called out here by a cleverly worded parchment with no name, but with enough code and hints written in that the senders were clear.
Sure enough, several plain-looking, unsuspicious people sat next to him. Turns out, those in the JoJ who had managed to flee the League's wrath had hidden away in Ionia. Here they changed their names, and laid low... but their love for the news couldn't be stopped. Von Paparaz had given donations to them before, but this time they asked him to take a stand, to rise up as the head of an independent news source.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, he said, Von Paparaz is not one to risk himself for wanted criminals. As he referred to himself in third person, he explained that yes, he did wish to help them, but it just wouldn't work out... until he heard a disgruntled Piltoveran, drunkenly complaining about how his schematics for a cheap and easy-to-produce Viewscreen weren't even considered for funding.
That was it. This was the big thing he was waiting for. Huge, crazy things went off in the rich man's head, masterful ways to fund a Viewscreen business, how to network, how to get things reported... It was perfect. The ambition awoke, and within that bar the power of the News arose again.
And several months later, here they stood. They said he was crazy, but Von Paparaz now commanded a huge group of people. Aspiring journalists, veterans from the JoJ, and fans who wanted to help, they all stood in front of a massive building, and cheered as it hummed to life. The head honcho of a group responsible for revolutionizing the way Valoran lived, responsible for bringing the news back to the people... Luigi Von Paparaz turned to face everyone... and yelled that it was time to get to work! The news doesn't write itself!
Here we go!
The Valoran News Network Headquarters
Now this place isn't Ionian at all. Why is it here? Honestly, it's a wonder how Von Paparaz got it approved, but this was the safest place for the JoJ veterans to stay at, and work behind the scenes as the newer reporters did the public stuff.
The building itself surrounded a large, elegant looking antenna, used to broadcast to the other Branches in the other cities, and to Viewscreens in Ionia. Even within the lobby, employees bustled about, their jobs ranging from simple paperwork, to getting business deals done, to doing maintenance to the set used to do the weekly news reports.
But at the middle of it all was a rather prim looking secretary, there to help any visitors who wished to enter the building. Any inquiries made shall go through her first and foremost.
Members of Interest Luigi Von Paparaz
The VNN shall make a Weekly News report, which can be seen from any viewscreen in Runeterra. These reports will be done in various different City-States, and feature themed news for that city. If there is something you wish to report to the news, please do so at one of our branches. Thank you!

Adventures and discoveries were part of Ahri's favorite activities ever since she was a white fox, her curiosity could be compared to the size of the oceans surrounding the whole continent of Valoran, heck even the whole world. She always loved to read throughout the JoJ, learning new things and widening her knowledge about the different city states and all the human activities that occurs at Valoran.
Now Ahri recently heard of a news channel opening up its door to recruit some new fresh reporters in order to resume what the JoJ used to do but this time, they will be viewed all around the states on Television. Something that made Ahri's heart squeal in happiness as she always wanted to participate to these activities. Why you would ask? Because being a reporter means that you get to see live what's going on around the continent, that you can meet up with new people and learn a lot about their cultures and many more of their histories. It was the perfect job for her at the moment and she was rather impatient to participate to it.
Ahri entered the building, throwing out a couple of look over the hallway until she made it to the reception of the headquarters. She popped her head in-front of the secretary with a large enthusiastic smile on her face and asked with a joyful tone.
"Hellooo!! I've been told that you are in need of some reporters and I came here to apply! But I honestly don't know much about how to go through the application, is there someone I have to see?"

Hand-picked by the boss, this secretary was about as secretary as you could get. Little was known about her or how much sway she had in the organization, but one thing was for sure: She was damn good at her job. Her hair was tied up perfectly, her glasses were of the highest quality, and her office attire was something Fiora might get jealous over. But she didn't just look the part: as Ahri cheerfully greeted herself, the Secretary nodded silently and pressed a button on the intercom.
"Sir, there's someone here who you should see." "What? I'm busy right now, don't waste my time. Who is it? Tell them to call in tomorrow." "It's Ahri, the Nine-tailed Fo-"
The door behind the desk swung open, and there stood Von Paparaz, already set with Sunglasses, Suit, and Style. The secretary quietly went back to her studies as the boss sauntered over to his sexy S'il vous plait.
"Ahriiii, baaaabyyyyyy! How are you? What brings a beautiful belle like yourself to our fine establishment, hmm? Can I get you anything? Would you like a tour?"
"She said she wishes to apply as a reporter, sir."
Von Paparaz's charm disappeared. "Oh, really...?" He stepped back a bit and crossed his arms, looking her from top to bottom (which was covered by his use of sunglasses indoors, so he just looked like he was standing there). "So, maybe we should discuss this more privately?"

Ahri smiled widely and followed the man to his office, she could almost feel the excitement getting through her. Her pleasant smile remained on her lips as she gazed at the charming man, feeling slightly nervous about how the interview or the application will go, mostly due to her lack of knowledge when it came to job recruitement and all that was related to it. She cleared her throat slowly, trying to be as discrete as possible and asked the man with a hint of curiosity in her voice.
"May I know what are the requirements to become a reporter dear sir?"
Sir was the only word she could call him for now, mostly because she didn't know what was his true name and she wanted to maintain a formal attitude around the man, for now.
Post by Luigi Von Paparaz on Feb 14, 2013 8:11:23 GMT -5
"Please, honey, call me Luigi. Von Paparaz works, too. No need for formality from such a lovely lady, especially from The Nine-tailed Fox herself."
The office was... well, it was the boss's office. It wasn't huge, but it was big. It wasn't cluttered, but the decoration was definitely expensive. There was plenty of space to accommodate his large, ornate Desk, however, which Von Paparaz walked behind and produced a bottle of some exquisite wine, followed by two glasses. Behind Ahri, the door shut, seemingly on it's own.
"Now. I like you, already. You're quick, you're sexy, and you know how to get what you want. I'm hiring ya. You're hired!"
With that, he popped the cork off the bottle, timed perfectly to celebrate Ahri's induction. "But... yes, there are three requirements, if you really want to be a reporter."
He poured himself a glass, and added a little ice cube. "First requirement, you need to continue being the fine, sexy piece of art that you currently are. That, you have covered. We needed a sexy flagship reporter anyway. Second requirement..."
He poured another glass, and added two little ice cubes, this one apparently for Ahri. "You need to understand that this is a very big deal. We're going to be working very hard over here, and we need to trust that you'll keep secrets for us, as well as tell us everything. The things we're trying to do here will require your full participation, even if things get dicey. Do you understand?"
Something was definitely bothering him, if Ahri was able to notice that, but he still offered the second glass to Ahri. "Thirsty?"
Post by The Nine-Tailed Fox on Feb 14, 2013 9:42:51 GMT -5
Ahri took a seat and listened closely to the man as he spoke about the requirements, taking notes of his gestures and his tone while gazing at him charmingly. Her focus was cut off by the glass of wine he handed over to her, it was quite a weird looking drink to her, mostly because she never saw or had any of these things before. She stared at the red liquid curiously as she dragged her nose closer to the glass and smelled it in a nonchalant way.
"What's this? *Sniff* It looks like blood but it doesn't smell like it..."
She leaned back on her comfortable chair, re-adjusted herself along with her seat and shrugged, placing her soft , white hand on the glass and shaking her head slightly. She prefered not to try anything like this now unless he insisted and only if it tasted good.
Visiopathic broadcasting. The VNN is currently a business pioneering an age of more everyday use of this))
"You sure? This is a rare stock, given to me personally by... several acquaintances. I only break these out for the best of occasions, you know."
Von Paparaz spun the glass on his finger, the crystal glass making a very soothing hum as he did so. Now, the boss had done his homework... those sunglasses weren't just for show, they helped to keep him from looking at the little vixen as she worked his charms on him. He had several things he had to do today before he would allow himself to be seduced by Ahri. Whether Ahri forcibly seduced him or not was a gamble, but otherwise he was intent on asking her a few questions.
"And I do need an answer to that second requirement. I need your... confidentiality, if you will. You must understand, we're a 'family business.' Anything that happens, happens to all of us. You sure you wouldn't like a drink?"
Post by The Nine-Tailed Fox on Feb 17, 2013 14:46:21 GMT -5
Confidential? Family Business? Those were odd words for Ahri; surely she understood their meaning, but she never thought of facing them. But alas she had to abide by the rules and follow the conditions, after all, she was just a few steps away from gaining what she wanted.
Ahri leaned in and grabbed the man's glass, pulling it gently towards her while her eyes gazed into his, teasing them as she pushed her arms towards each other, slightly exposing her top curves. Her lips danced around the glass, those pink delicate and luscious lips brushed against it as the red liquid flowed down her throat. She pulled away, still gazing into his eyes, and spoke with her soft, charming voice.
"I think I can go with that, mister Luigi. And what could be the third condition?"
Post by Luigi Von Paparaz on Feb 18, 2013 6:14:34 GMT -5
"The third is...."
Luigi blinked a few times, his eyes looking directly at the seductress standing before him, taking in every detail that moved in her figure, as she actively molested his wine glass. Yeah, he was definitely being charmed here, any bloke could tell that, but sadly no one else was around to call her out.
It was just Ahri and her prey, a powerless human with no ability to resist... Von Paparaz took a long gulp from his glass, and followed Ahri in downing the entire thing in one shot.
"The third condition is... you tell me why a League Champion is already snooping around in here, trying to get a job as a reporter."
Post by The Nine-Tailed Fox on Feb 24, 2013 4:54:03 GMT -5
Ahri kept gazing at the man with the same seductive gaze until she heard his rather odd question. She bit her lower lips while she tried to think of something to say and explain the situation.
"I don't know, when I came here I wasn't thinking that I was coming with the benefit of being a Champion from the League... I just want to be a reporter because... It's fun and interesting! *giggles*"
Post by Luigi Von Paparaz on Feb 25, 2013 8:34:22 GMT -5
It's fun and interesting, she says? Giggle, she says? The Von Paparaz was disgruntled. This would be way too simple of a trap, if it were a trap. It bothered him to no end, so he decided instead to enjoy looking her over, making sure her luscious curves weren't giving away any hints of treachery.
Still, Von Paparaz had a great nose for spies in his line of work. He could smell em coming from a mile away... but all he got from her was some perfume he had never heard of. Which was preposterous, he knew all of them. The point was, Ahri didn't seem like she was lying one bit, only his gut was telling him not to hire anyone from the League. Maybe she really did want to just join for fun? It was Ahri, she wasn't so tied into the League. Or maybe he was just already charmed, and Ahri was just completely working him over, ready to sell the VNN out after she had gotten all its secrets? She was definitely trying to seduce him this entire time, this could very well have been her plan. No, none of this cute, cuddly fox added up at all.
...
Oh, what the hell. "Why not? You can start whenever you wish; we'll give you a camera. But first, we'll need to guide you through a little orientation. You understand?"
Post by The Nine-Tailed Fox on Feb 27, 2013 3:54:43 GMT -5
Ahri's hands clapped into one another all excitedly as he accepted her. Wonderful! Marvelous! It was a great feeling to her, and it even showed up when a cheerful smile arched on her lips. She finally crossed the first step to be part of society and she knew that all that was left now was to be able to learn more about it and to be accepted as one of them, a respected human, even though most men still fear her because of her past.
Her eyebrows lifted up as he mentioned the guide she had to go through, a questionable look came across her face as her head tilted to the side wondering what she'll gain from it.
Although, his tone showed her that he was somewhat bothered by something, the eyes would never lie and she knew that by gazing into his eyes, scanning the globes carefully as they shifted across her body, but not like a perverted way as most men would do when she's around. She wanted to point it out, but felt like she would make things suddenly awkward, so her thoughts took a halt and retreated the idea of asking him such question.
Her fluffy tails wrapped around her waist smoothly like a belt, while she crossed her legs elegantly, slightly lifting up the bottom of her dress, showing partly her well drawn thighs as she leaned towards the man again and asked him, her lovely voice shining once more as she spoke.
"What will I have to know about this orientation guide?"
Post by Luigi Von Paparaz on Feb 27, 2013 11:34:29 GMT -5
Sunglasses went straight back on! Von Paparaz, though only human, managed through some herculean effort to keep a stoic serious outside face. He was already regretting this decision, but for different reasons. As Ahri leaned in closer, all he could do was attempt to ascend to Sainthood.
Which he may or may not succeed in. "Well... Well, you need to know how to work a camera, babe. They float and they're controllable, it's just a little confusing, so they say. And you need to learn how the VNN does business." His eyes betrayed him and he caught a glance down her chest. "Though you may already understand that part."
Post by The Nine-Tailed Fox on Feb 28, 2013 6:17:11 GMT -5
Ahri's eyes flashed as she caught his indiscreet look that laid upon her chest... he wasn't any different from the rest of the men she met before, all the same... throwing their eyes on her curves, going from chest to her bottom and the rest of her body. But alas she couldn't care much about it right now. She leaned back on her chair, her spines gently resting on the back of the chair while her eyes remained locked on his, with a more serious aura emanating from them.
Fun time was over, she wanted to get down to business and start to work on her new job, she was determined and eager to fulfill any task he might ask her to do as long as it benefits her goals and drives her closer to human society.
"So... I guess I'll be taking that camera and head out to get you some juicy and fresh interviews and news... Unless you have some plans you want me to accomplish before anything."
Post by Luigi Von Paparaz on Mar 4, 2013 0:13:57 GMT -5
Von Paparaz's eyebrow raised... apparently, looking at her chest got her to stop fronting him. She was looking at him very judgmentally now, but it was a good trade compared to the danger that was happening only a moment ago.
Regardless, his composure was back. Luigi Von Paparaz managed to resist Ahri's charms (maybe), and his professionalism returned. He crossed his arms and stood straight, that businessman pressure emanating from the entire room.
"I'll trust you for now... but yes, you'll need to do a little something for me, Miss Fox." Paparaz snapped his fingers, and a small, orb-like machine floated out from under his desk. "This is a 'camera.' It works a little similar to your League weapon... Runaan's. Control it with your will, it'll send the data to viewers everywhere, either live or recorded. Your choice. Now. You're a League champion... we can use that. While most of my reporters don't have much authority anywhere, you're Ahri." He stood right in front of her, his hand extended to help her out of the chair. "You can move where others can't, and that makes you valuable. So... I need you to go to Freljord. Consider that you're first job. I want interviews. Expose's. reports on the damage. You know what's happening there, I presume?"
