There are many villages on the way to the old Institute, their economies sustained by selling mundane services to the Institute staff. Life goes on in one such hamlet, a minor summoner having since retired and put up a bakery, and marrying a local woman. This was the Summoner’s Bakery, located slightly down the road from town, where they cooked in peace. It is a growing business, word of mouth among travelers of the fine loaves and filled sweet breads they offered.
Not all was well though, upon arriving in town during the evening. There is a pervading aroma in the air, of baked breads, spices, tomato sauce and garlic. There was also an eerie silence, and an absence of townsfolk on the streets. Today was supposed to be a day of celebration it seemed, from the decorations on the village houses- but not a soul stirred in this little hamlet.

Daniella wandered into the town, wondering little about the absence of people. She was holding a small stack of papers, staring at the first page on the front.
"Lady Fiora said that i should take today to explore..." Daniella muttered under her breath before taking out a small pen, she quickly made a check mark to mark off this town.
A voice in her head rang out : Heeeeyyy Let Dani play too!~
Daniella sighed. "Remember Lady Fiora told us not to switch unless it was an unavoidable situation, lest you kill everyone on sight again..."
Dani whined a little : "I promise ill be good this time!"
Daniella only shook her head and continued down the path.
((Sorry my character may be confusing at first, im not done the prof yet My apologies!))
Walking through the small farming village, it was clear that there was supposed to be a festivity. The small town square had booths prepared, food in covered containers readied. Hearts and red ribbons adorned trees and buildings, yet there was nothing but eerie silence, broken by the chirp of crickets.
The nearby homes though had light coming from their interior, yet no activity. A passing glance would even note that some homes had their dining tables prepped with food, plates of half-eaten supper left on the table, as if the entire populace left in a hurry...
A sign at the town center indicated the position of nearby places of interest- Guard Post, Forest, Bakery, Road to Institute, Demacia; Zaun; Noxus.
As Dani slowly reached the edge of town, the lights on the village homes flickered out.
Footsteps...
There were people staring out their windows as she passed by the dark roads.
Footsteps...
All around there were footsteps, but when one stopped to listen, the footsteps also ceased. People were staring out their windows at the passerby- if one were brave enough to glimpse at the buildings for more than a second, one would note something off about the people.
Footsteps...
The sound grew louder. The bakery was still some ways off. It would take a deliberate look to see what was going on with the people. In one's peripheral vision one could make out a lone, solitary figure, a tall, slender creature that was all white. It had no emotions, no malice, no bloodlust. It simply stood there, transfixed at Dani. And all around...

Fortunately, for Daniella she was not the only one entering the oddly unpopulated village. Garth too was sent by the expedition team he was traveling with to run and get supplies, so the team could carry on with their journey.
"Well...at least we stopped at a more civilized place this time around." Garth muttered to himself as he readjusted his cap. Though something felt wrong...where was everyone? Maybe their was some kind of special event going on at the hamlet's meeting place. Not that it mattered he wouldn't be here too long. He reached the town center, where...it was obvious something was suppose to happen.
Now this was too weird. Garth unstrapped his LS-457 from his back and held it at a relaxed, but aware position. There seems to be a mystery that needs to be solved here, and what would the future apprentice of Caitlyn do? He would solve the mystery! Garth noticed everything was untouched and left uneaten from what he could see in the windows. The townsfolk had left very quickly, and yet nothing was disturbed? That struck Garth as quite odd. It was almost like they had all vanished into thin air.
Garth soon found the directory, and looked at the places of interest. The guard post was the most likely area where resistance held out, but perhaps whatever had attacked the townsfolk had followed them there? No, his gut intuition told him to go to the bakery. So he set off that way, and eventually saw a woman standing in the road to the bakery.
"Hey! Excuse me!" Garth called out to her as he approached her, "You wouldn't happen to know what is going on around here?" Then his sense of hearing was overloaded by the sound of footsteps. His eyes darted around trying to find the source. He activated his augmented eye's ability to see heat signatures, so should the owner of the footsteps be invisible Garth would still see them, "You hear that too right? The footsteps?"

Daniella whirled around, worried about the situation now. When she turned it was easy to see that she was sweating a bit. Realizing that a real person had spoken to her, she had calmed down a bit.
"Eh? Footsteps...? I dont he-..." She stopped talking a bit before realizing that even for the slightest moment, it did sound like footsteps. but it quickly faded.

"Hey, just calm down. My name is Garth." He said looking at her with his eyes, but only for a moment as he glanced around, "I propose we keep moving. We look for others, and try to figure out what is going on here. The longer we stay the more we have to risk of our discovery." He explained moving forward and looking for the source of the footsteps.
He held onto his rifle cautiously and flicked off the safety. If anything was going to approach them it would most likely choose to strike now. After all they were few, and judging from the footsteps they were perhaps many.

As Dani and Garth resumed their path, the tall, slender figure on the road to the bakery remained where he was, seemingly transfixed upon them. The weather seemed to have gotten worse as well, as the night visibility was compounded by fog.
The footsteps were of only one figure, and with that the only clue provided, another of these slender beings came out of the corner directly behind the pair. They were truly featureless; bodies nothing more but a tall slender mass of white, a large faceless head and a small torso standing on inhumanly long legs, without arms.
A tentacle materialized, emerging directly from its torso, silently attempting to grab onto Garth's neck...

Garth began to approach the transfixed figure. Assuming it meant no harm, which he discovered it wasn't the creature he was suppose to be worried about. The tentacle managed to sneak up on him and wrap around his neck, which first of all caught him by surprise. The intial reaction was a choking noise he made, but he managed to turn his head enough to see what had grabbed him.
The same figure that was at the bakery, and this suddenly concerned Garth. They had walked into a trap so to speak. However, he needed a way out...right now. The symbol on his gauntlet began to glow blue as it created a very unstable slug of mana in his rifle. The turned his body just enough to see the creature, and aimed the barrel of the rifle at it. Then he pulled the trigger.
There was a loud bang as the unstable slug was launched from the barrel, and acted like a shotgun shell. The slug broke apart into large sharp mana shards that threw themselves at the creature. Furthermore, the recoil of the round itself often knocked Garth to his back. However, due to his improper firing stance he was knocked even further back. This may work out to his advantage though, as the creature might get pulled into more of the shards from his shot.

Daniella whirled on the creature that had attacked Garth, How could she not sense the bloodthirst?! Unless...There was none? There was a forceful Slam in her mind as Dani took over the body and Daniella was forced into the back of the mind. Dani immediately drew her rapier, waiting for the creatures next move. She smiled like a child, and let out a blood thirsty aura.
The force of Garth's blast cleaved the creature in two, splattering it, whatever it was made of, onto the building. However, despite being separated from its lower body, the torso continued to attack, its very pliable and amorphous tendril now covering up Garth's nose and mouth, attempting to cut off his air. Strangely enough, there was little to no strength in it- it was however, incredibly sticky, trying to work its way into his nose and throat.
Meanwhile, as Dani had not acted, the other figure in the distance quietly closed the gap. Even at its walking pace, it would be within tendril's reach very soon. During the encounter, neither creature made a single sound- how could they, when they had no mouths...

Garth noticed that the creature did not go down after being blown into two pieces. This was rather concerning as Garth had never encountered anything like this. What were its weak points? Vital organs? Should he use his eye to try and decipher it? No, maybe not right now but later. Though his Aunt Ada was right he was going to learn a lot while traveling. This was one of those moments, and now the tendril moved over his mouth and nose...and was trying to get inside?
That wasn't going to happen any time soon as Garth grabbed the tendril and tried to pull it off his face. Fortunately it was weak, but sticky enough that it was hard to remove. He held its entrance from his mouth and nose, so it was not going to be getting in. There was still the problem about how long he would be able to hold it back.
He turned back to the creature that was adamant about killing him. What he would give for a combat knife to cut himself free, or maybe he would try something knew then next time it came to this. However, under the current circumstances he was too...afraid for his survival to think of any new use for his mana. So he resorted to plan B and the symbol on his gauntlet glowed blue, but this time he created a different form of mana. He swung his rifle around and aimed it at the creature, and held his breath. He fired a different round at the creature, one that if it hit or after a certain timer..would detonate. It was quite effective against armored targets, and he hoped splattering the creature would finish it off.
This did leave Daniella to deal with the other creature. Garth just hoped she could..otherwise they would be in a bit of a pickle with him being the only fighter. Little did he know Daniella was now Dani.

Dani grinned before disappearing and reappearing behind the other creature stabbing it in the back, upon realizing that the creature was made of a sticky substance, She stuck her hand forward to rip the creature in half, retrieving her rapier in the process. She licked her lips in excitement and laughed.
"Lets play some more~" Dani whispered so Garth couldn't hear her.
