Sylvia listened to Vergil, the young man fairly blunt and straight to the point. A good trait, but not one Sylvia would expect from nobility. She had a bite of pigeon then of salad before continuing to speak.
She spoke to him very slyly. She knew he was here for Vermilion, but decided to tease him a bit. "I see... I am sure I am capable of loaning one of the Brides on a per-mission basis. Perhaps Crimson or Auburne; they are fairly new Brides and are lacking in combat experience... cheap, only 250 valor a day, if you do not wish to pay a slave full hazard pay." She sipped her wine slowly, letting Vergil steer the conversation towards today's champion.

"lacking combat experience is hardly what is required. I'm not sure if you have heard about what some bandit clan is pulling along the borders to Demacia. Seems the have learned the art of intelligence, first sign of anything military and they just book it over the border and then the military can't go in to clean them up without starting a war with the Demacian's." Vergil took a scoop full of salad and popped it in his mouth. "The best way to clean up this mess is by hiring us and so that is what we have been doing. However things are looking grim, seems they have a champion of their own and it doesn't seem kind enough to let us get away without losses. That is why I need the best possible, and I am sure you wouldn't want any of your brides to get split in half simply because they have no combat experience." Vergil took another scoop of salad once he was done with his little speech.
"Oh. I see. Well then, you must be looking to hire Vermilion. I am willing to lend her to this high profile missions of yours...." Syvlia paused, letting it sink into Vergil that the noblewoman was after reputation as much as gold.
"...Due to her adjusted price, I am willing to hire her out for 2,500 valor a day, or the mission's pay, whichever is *higher*. Is this acceptable?"

"I can guarantee her share of the money plus permanent residence within the group if she is accepted" He cleared his throat. "Missions come few and far between I might add so the pay wont be coming in very quickly." He took a look at the food on his plate, all of a sudden it didn't look so appealing.
"Good then, we are in agreement. Now, She'll be in Zaun for the next four days to recover, and have a few social functions..." A slave came by with a portable writing table and a booklet, which contained Vermilion's schedule.
"I would like to know exactly when you'll be heading into action, so that we can prepare Vermilion properly. Is that alright?" They finished their supper, and servants came in with dessert- freshly made apple cobbler. It smelled greatly of cinnamon and the oven.

"I believe that action comes when there is a client and it has been a week since the last so I would expect one soon." Vergil took a look the the cobbler while his other guest who had been listening in indulged himself in the dessert. "Lawin you make sure you save some for me." The older man pretended like he didn't hear Vergil and continued eating. "He gives you the silent treatment when he's eating." Vergil seemed to be apologetic for Lawin's behavior.
"Oh, it's quite alright. This is just a casual home dinner. One of the servants will see you out when you're done. Was there anything else?" She asked, always with a polite tone and smile.

"No that will be all. Unless you have some way of accomplishing impossible reconstructive nerve surgery." Vergil and Lawin both chuckled at the little joke clearly aimed at Krutis who was not with them.
Sylvia didn't catch it as a joke despite the laugh.
"Well, Zaun's doctors have many... ways of accomplishing miracles. I've had many a Bride suffer gruesome injuries, but luckily I am acquainted with a... specialist."
She looked at Vergil. "...I can't guarantee that he will repair the damage though. However, he is quite fond of replacing damaged parts with... similar parts, or different ones."

"I don't think she would like that. You see she is still just as good at shooting with a dead right arm as she was with both arms." Vergil stood up to take his leave. "I suppose we must be going. It was a pleasure doing business with you."
Sylvia nodded and gestured for one of the servants to guide him out. However, a thought crossed the matron's mind. She snapped her fingers and called Vergil's attention, complete with a wavy hand.
Her husband remained quiet as always, enjoying his cobbler slowly.
"Ah! master Vergil, I was wondering though if your little mercenary friends would like to get acquainted with Vermilion first. Have them come over for a demonstration; get to know someone who'll be fighting with them. That is what is the fad with warriors, yes?"

"I am sure some of them would most definately wish to meet her. But I am not certain travaling to Zaun is in our best interest right now." Vergil composed himself again to answer any more questions.
"Well, I meant for when she returned. If you can, do come by in five days when she's been properly treated. I will have her demonstrate her capabilities... Well, now I am certain there is little else. Farewell, Vergil."
Caerys returns to the manor in impeccably perfect health and fitness, albeit her mind was still reeling from the battle. Again and again she suffered nightmares of the drake, despite having defeated it; her victory was barely snatched from the jaws of defeat, and with barely a day to rest she was told to be ready to demonstrate her abilities for a group of mercenaries she would be joining.
She returns to her slavery, her gilded cage; her expression one of aloofness, of someone who has buried her feelings deep inside of her to keep them safe. She was told to wait on the estate's sandy training grounds. She applies handwraps to her tough, calloused hands, made somewhat softer by Zaun's advanced medicines. She perused her weapon rack for her choices, and looked up at the perpetual gloom of the Noxian night, no sunlight penetrating to give back life to her pale skin.
She sighed. She wondered when, or if she would ever be delivered from slavery- four years seemed like an eternity away. No, She needed to win the will of the people if she wanted to be freed sooner.
She turned her gaze to the viewing balcony, from where Sylvia viewed the training. Until these mercenaries would arrive, the balcony was empty. Physically she was able as ever, but in her heart she felt a tiredness. She knelt, then sat on the sand, head downcast as she closed her eyes to catch fleeting moments of rest.

Vergil and the majority of his band approached the front gate of the estate behind him was Lawin and his every graying hair and behind Lawin seemed to be a shy girl armed with strange knives next to Vergil stood Krutis and behind her stood Eli, Sara, and Titus. They would stand their to await entry.
((This should be a hint hint to Eli, Sara and Titus Acacius that they should be here as well.))
