A block of walking later, the two found themselves at a small little diner not far from the merchant’s district of Noxus. A small modestly decorated sign outside of the building was hung over the entrance way, “The NoName Diner” is what it said. The place was somewhat busy, filled to quarter capacity. He was the first to grip the handle and then opened the door, holding it open and beckoning Rose in.

Rose offers a smile to the summoner, seeming pleased by the gesture- as well as rather amused by the sign. "I guess they aren't interested in being looked up." The inside of the restaurant is fairly modest, as well- a nice enough place, but nothing to write home about.
"Table for two," she tells the maître d', though her tone is polite.

(Try reinstalling. I also have aim!)
“Right this way.” The maître d' led them to a table by a window, near the far corner of the diner. “A waitress will be with you in a moment.”
Daichi took a seat, his demeanor ever pleasant and bright as he took a set by the window. He wondered if she would sit adjacent from him or by his side.
“I like the name a lot. It’s nice when a place has a sense of humor, especially when it’s in Noxus.” He gave a light laugh as his eyes scanned the diner for anyone of particular note. It wasn’t that he was concerned, it was more that he was curious as to whom he might spot. Maybe there was familiar face here.

There's a brief hesitation before she sits across from him, smiling a little. "That's right, you don't li- do you live here?" The comment he's made, combined with the way he looks and his name, would seem to suggest he doesn't, but it'd be more polite to ask.
Given I've been invited for a meal after having attempted to pickpocket him... as cheerful as he seems, politeness would be the better option at the moment.
She'd had a look around the diner when they arrived, but hadn't seen anyone she knew- it was in her usual habit to scan the faces of people in the room with her, as well as the exits of the room itself.

“No. I do not live in Noxus. I lack a permanent residence actually. I’m here for the market district. One places goods is just as good as another’s goods, whether they be Demacian, Noxian, Zaunite, Piltish or Ionian.” He nodded and noted her own small habits.
“And here you are, doing the same thing as I am.” He noted their similar behaviors. “No familiar faces and there’s a few exits.” He laughed lightly as a waitress approached and handed them both menus, three pages thick.

"I'll take your word for it." She laughs quietly, somehow doubting anything made in Demacia would measure up to Noxian handiwork. "Do you keep apartments, then, or-?"
As he notes her looking around, she blinks- usually, people don't notice, or don't realize what she's looking around for. A slight blush rises on her cheeks; it's a little embarrassing that he had.
The waitress arrives just in time, and Rose smiles up at her, taking the menu lightly from her hand.
"Ah- just water, thanks," she says, noticing that the tea has a price.

A man in a strange, checkered top hat and fine clothes walked by. His long blond hair bobbed with each graceful step he took, his finely pressed suit hugged his thin body. He passed by the two, humming to himself as he was lead towards a seat.
The man reached into his coat pocket, rummaging for something when he tripped over his own feet. Barely catching himself, he muttered a curse and kept walking, leaving his pocket watch on the ground. He was too busy leafing through his wallet, not noticing he had lost the polished, gold watch.
The man would be led towards a booth only a few tables away from the two.

“Just a single place at the Institute of War as I’m sometimes needed.” He grinned a little wider, though with innocent intent, as she flushed. The waitress wrote down their orders and began to move away, leaving them with but the menus. As his eyes wandered, he noticed the odd newcomer who entered. They certainly had a noble air about them, and just like that it was gone. The gracefulness shattered by a clumsy stumbling. A pocket watch fell upon the ground, gleaming somewhat in the diner light.
“…How odd. Usually pocket watches are meant to stay in the pocket. Secured.” Daichi mentioned more to himself. After his stunt with Rose, it would be hypocritical to take it or to simply watch the watch upon the ground. He stood. “Just a moment Sonders.” He approached the pocket watch, scooped it into his hands and then approached the strange noble.
“Sir.” He spoke to get his attention and presented the watch to him. “I watched you dropped this on the way in. I thought you might want it back.”

Rose notices the noble as well, but says nothing, only half-leaning forward as the watch falls. Before she can make some excuse to get up and take it, Daichi is standing from the table, excusing himself.
"Sonder-" corrects the student again, but nods as he walks off. She would have had an excuse, if the noble had noticed- she'd have given it back if he'd seen- but she understands the message he's imparting to her. He's much more honest than I am, it would seem.
He was dressed interestingly- perhaps from Piltover? They seem to enjoy outlandish hats there. Her green eyes are fixed not on the menu, but on the scene, as the summoner approaches the other man. When the time comes, she'll come up with a cheap answer for the waitress.

"Mm?" The man looked up at Daichi, then at the watch. He grinned and tapped the face of the watch. "Oh ho, so you did bring it? Oh very kind of you, young man."
The man stood up from the table and bowed deeply towards Daichi. "I'm Sir Emilio Leuko, but call me Emilio. I was wondering when someone was going to actually be polite." He reached over and closed Daichi's fingers around the watch, and pushed it back towards him. "Enjoy it, sir. Think of it as my way of saying 'thank you'."

“Emilio Leuko” He thought finding the name strangely familiar to him. “Daichi Hamamoto.” He gave a slight bow of his own. “…I appreciate the gesture sir.” The truth of the matter that he felt guilty about taking it as he felt it wasn’t his to take, however, he had a hunch about something and wanted to follow it. “…and thank you. I’ll be sure to take excellent care of it. Enjoy your meal; I have an acquaintance to get back to if you don’t mind Sir Leuko.” He would move back unless something stopped him.
He returned and examined the watch rather closely as he returned back to the seat, a careful eye for detail. He thought there might be something particularly special about it. “...Sorry about that Sonder. The gentleman over there gave me this pocket watch when I attempted to return it. Rather generous of him, don’t you think?”
Post by Rose Sonder on Mar 16, 2013 2:47:47 GMT -5
"An interesting reaction- but yes, certainly generous," Rose comments, having watched the exchange. "And please, it's alright; you were attempting to return something of value to someone who looks- fairly important." If the man still looked after Daichi, he'd see her offer a small nod and a smile, out of respect.
That watch must be worth a small fortune, she thinks. It sounded like he might have been testing Daichi- so I'm glad I didn't get up for it. But- what sort of wealth must this Sir Leuko have, to give away a watch for a moment of honesty? Her mind boggles at the potential that all that money could have, but she tries not to think about it- no use lusting after what one can't have, after all.

The man would catch the smile, and offer Rose a tip of his hat in return. He leaned back in his seat and closed his eyes. The server would come by and place a steaming teapot and an empty cup before him, but he did not react to it.
For all intensive purposes, the man appeared to be asleep.

“…” Daichi simply nodded and then pocketed the small watch carefully so that he would not lose it. It seemed to be just an ordinary watch although he certainly had his doubts.
“Did you read over the menu? I already have an idea of what I want to eat.” His eyes drifted back to the man whom appeared to have fallen asleep, he still was somewhat bothered by him and that name. His eyes fell upon the menu and opened it anyway, browsing page to page. The selection was mediocre but food was food. He didn’t come here for a high class meal.

Sonder nods- she notices his eyes shift to the noble, and shrugs to herself; if he's asleep, he no longer proves a threat. "Just, um... a cheese sandwich, I guess."
It's the cheapest thing on the menu, aside from a salad- and what would that be, save water and chlorophyll? No use to someone who's hungry. The price of it is an indication of her gratitude, in a roundabout fashion- but in a clearer indication, she lets a smile cross her lips. "...thanks, by the way."
