"same here" he replies to here, nearly equal in hunger as he smells the cooking emanating from the kitchen. A slight twitch in the muscles lining his stomach reminds him of this as well. He would smile and nod as the waiter Greets them.
After taking their seats, he also takes a menu and begins flipping through it. the prices were a bit more then he was used to, but this was a date and a little indulgence is acceptable in this case. The conversation they had before had made him think about taking a pick from the pasta dishes himself after a minuite or so of looking through the menu and ultimately decided on fettuccine himself, he looks back up to his lovely date "so have you decided on a dish yet?" he asked her with a gentle smile.

Sonder smiles back at him, and rattles off a string of foreign words. "I was thinking an arrosto di vitello with julienned vegetables, and maybe a side of mint jelly for the vitello," she answers, then grins. It's all spoken with practiced ease, as though she's familiar with the language- though she isn't; it's a trick to impress.
The dish would cost her both of the coins in her pocket- but she wouldn't mind that. While he'd find out at her apartment tonight that she was by no means affluent, a first impression of money could do away with a few of the classist assumptions that "broke student" seemed to draw in. He hadn't seemed to notice when she left the bar without paying, the first night, but it could be a problem if he was like some men.
"You owe me! I paid for your dinner tonight!" "What about that shirt you were wearing at the bar? I could see your corset; you must have been trying to draw someone in to pay!" "If you're that low on money, then why don't we make some sort of... arrangement?"
Those conversations usually didn't end well for the men, or for her, but the first night that she'd been with this Freljordian man, he... didn't display too many of those tendencies. If she's honest with herself, he's the first (apparently) good man she's been involved with since Cait, the Zaunite man who- had been a woman. Perhaps not the best example for judging men by.
His brow raises slightly when she started to speak. He had never heard of It, much less understood what she said. Then again he had been away from most of society for quite some time. There is quite a bit he still did not understand, especially more recently since meeting her.
"heh, I don't even know what most of that means." He lightly chuckles a bit. He was impressed though that she knew those words, even if he did not understand them "all I got from that was vegetables and jelly. what is it anyways?" He asked. He was thoroughly interested in what what that dish was.

"It's a roast of veal, rubbed down with various herbs and spices~ julienned vegetables are just vegetables cut in thin strips," she explains- being raised in a home with the salaries of two summoners had instilled her with certain tastes, though recent years had brought them a little lower.
She didn't know much about life outside of urban areas; the only travel she'd ever engaged in was a trip to Zaun, and while it was more high-tech than Noxus, it was no less a city-state. Though she knew he'd spent most of his life wandering in the wilderness, it would be a major culture shock for her to ever try to learn his way of life.
He had nodded when she explained the dish to him. It seemed like quite an interesting dish. Although, when she first said the dish he did not understand, but when she explained it tho him, he understood much better. It did sound quite delicious, and were he not so sick of steaks at the moment he would probably tried something similar.
"that definitely sounds like its good" He said, tapping his chin, thinking about what he wanted himself. Talking about pasta dishes on the way there did get him in the mood for pasta. It had been a while since he had sat down to eat. "I think i will have a chicken fettuccine Alfredo myself." he said with a smile. Living in the city so far had been quite unusual. So far it had been strange, but so far hasn't been too bad.

"Then, by all means~" As soon as the comment's out of her mouth, a waiter arrives, and she rattles off their orders quickly to him. Her voice as she makes the casual demands is pleasant, if professional- they're making a transaction, after all, not making friends. The young man nods, his pen hurrying on the page to keep track of her words, and she looks back to Nevin as the waiter goes.
"...I've been thinking about the rebellion," she says, softly. This is a nicer establishment than the bar, and since the patrons are usually a bit higher-income than a student and her foreign companion- they're usually a bit less likely to offer sympathy to a rebel.
He would nod and smile lightly as the waiter had came to their table. He did not say anything to the waiter, simply watching as Rose had given him their order, and he furiously writes to keep up. If he were not preoccupied with his date, he might have taken a moment to talk to him. His focus was at Rose.
He nodded slowly When Rose had commented about the rebellion. Usually he had no particular interest in the dealings of politics. However this was something she was involved in, and this was something she seemed to be deeply worried about.
"oh yeah? you want to talk about it?" Normally he wasn't one to pry about it, but she did mention it, and it did seem to be a concern of hers.

Her hand flickers over to her other arm, rubbing it self-consciously. "Well- if you're interested?" She looks a little nervous about the subject. In truth, she isn't certain how he'll react- he seemed fairly sympathetic to the rebellion itself when last they spoke, and if he still holds those sentiments, then it'll be hard to explain... the General's speech had stirred some latent loyalty in her.
I still don't know how I feel about the rebellion, or about the General's rule, and I don't want to bother him with the mercurial changing of my opinions, she worries silently.
"It's that... I don't know if I'll be joining the rebellion, in truth." Those clear green eyes flicker to the side in a poor attempt to hide her thoughts. "Hearing the General's speech after Brand's attack- it's true that he does what's needed for our country, and... the fact that he's putting out a draft for all of Noxus' unemployed summoners means that my fa- my parents are back in a job."
It's obvious she's still hiding something about her parents, but her other words, thus far, have been transparently honest. The hesitation regarding her family is a blatant omission- clearly, it'd be hard for her to lie if she needed to, something that does her no good in her current position.
Nevin had listened to Rose as she spoke intently. As he suspected she did hold much worry for the rebellion, which is understandable. Something like this is far from an easy thing to deal with, This is is quite the life changing set of events after all. He was not noxian, and had little time to develop a solid opinion on which side to take, if he chose to do so. Right now however, what he did know was that Rose was a part of this, and it concerned him that she was so worried about this.
"I see..." He sighs for a moment "Yes it's true, sometimes we have to do things that are necessary, regardless of If we want to or not. Swain does what he needs to do in his position and it seems to work so far." It was interesting that she would mention her parents. He heard a small bit about her mother, but had yet to really speak on them. The fact that they were summoners intrigued him and was glad at least they had the opportunity to get jobs again. He might have to inquire more on them if given the chance.
"At least Swain had given the opportunity for jobs to summoners." He smiles and then returns to a more serious tone "Helping people Is good sometimes; I would know, I try to help people when i can. But it is of no help if you are Jailed, or worse you die. Do me a favor, at the very least think about what is best for you. I would hate to have something horrible to happen to you."
It was a grim thought, but he knew as well as anyone what it takes to survive. It was one of the few times that he had shown shown such concern for someone. He didn't want to make her more confused or worried then she already had been, but he did want to make sure she was dong the right thing.
Sonder pauses before responding, her eyes filling with unexpected emotion at his last comment. The fact that, after what was little more than a one-night stand, he cared about what happened to her-? It certainly showed his foreign attitudes; Noxian men typically wouldn't care that much (or at all).
"...the General's said before that those who oppose him fall, and as much as I hate to admit it- I don't like the way that sounds. The last thing I want is to have things cut short; I want to see how things go with my magic, and, um... with you." Her cheeks flare slightly before she composes herself again- best not to let him see too much, too soon.
"All talk of rebellion aside- I know that he's a good leader. What's necessary isn't a coup, but a remaking of Noxus' image as something that can be looked up to. If I'm honest... I think he might be doing that already. There may be a lot of corruption- but that's the same in every government, even in Demacia, I expect.
"I still- hold some sentiments of rebellion, but- I won't be so actively involved, or so openly. It was foolish of me to step onto that stage, with the eyes of the General so wide-open and numerous."
With perfect timing, the waiter arrives at the conclusion of her speech, and sets down their food before them. The tension broken, she breaks into a grin at the roast of meat before her, and motions the platter of alfredo to Nevin before nodding graciously in a quiet dismissal.
He had taken notice of the emotion that had came upon her eyes. whether it was due to the situation that she was in or it was to him personally and what he said. Either way, he did not want to press the issue too much as it was his place to assume such things. He simply listened, figuring it would be best to lend an ear. He was no politician anyway, his opinion on such matters would hold little value as it is. "I really don't hold much sentiment for politics anyway. Having a government is great, i just dont expect anyone to do anything for me. call it an 'old habit' I guess." He clasped his hands together, unsure of what exactly to say "whatever happens out there, take care of yourself."
She was right though. There was a reason that Swain is regarded as the Master Tactician. He certainly would not want to be the one to go against him. One thing that did catch his ear was that she had wanted to see how things went with him. That had caused him to blush lightly as well. He did not expect to have her reciprocate such sentiment, though it was nice that she was thinking about him.
He did not have the time to dwell on if for long however, as the waiter had shown up with their platters. when the smell of their food hit his nostrils, he was reminded just how hungry he was. it had been a while since he had a good meal that he didn't have to cook for himself, and it showed. "Ah just in time. Let's dig in shall we?" he said with a smile. He would wait for her to begin eating before he would eat.
Sonder nods again, and picks up her knife and fork to cut a chunk from her roast. "Indeed," she answers, clearly hungry as well- she spears a bit of roasted asparagus on with it, and the meal begins. For some time, she doesn't speak; the enjoyment of the food is apparent in the surprising speed with which she consumes it. The last several meals she's had have been Zaunite instant noodles; hardly filling, and by no means high cuisine.
Sonder pauses after a time, picking up the napkin from her lap and dabbing softly at her mouth with it. Her expression seems oddly neutral- she wants to get more into the sort of conversation they'd had the night they met, but she's not sure how to approach other subjects.
"Have you had other partners in your life? What were they like?" In lieu of a gentle transition from one subject to the other, the question is blunt, straightforward, and without jealousy or malice. She seems interested by the idea of him being with others. It's not curiosity in a way that's perverse, but in a question of how they interacted, and how he might interact with her in the future.
he stabbed his fork in the pasta, and wrapped some in the fork and ate it. He was quite hungry, and the food was very good. He couldn't remember the last time he had a good meal, even better that he did not have to make it himself. He glanced over the table to the woman that he was sharing the meal with. So far he had been enjoying her company, which was nice. They seemed to like each other other than outside the bedroom, which is a good sign. For a few minutes into the meal, it was fairly quiet, with the exception of their eating.
When she begun to ask her question, he looked up and thought for a moment. He was not prepared for a question so soon. He knew that It was going to come up eventually, and he was a little embarrassed by the answer if he were perfectly honest. Even in his long life he did not really have much in the way of relationships, if at all.
"Well..." he begun, setting his fork down for a moment as he begun to explain. "If i were to be perfectly honest, I have not really had girlfriends until now. there was one case that may have been within my clan. Her name was Lilith." He smiled a bit as he remembered her. "She was the daughter of the chieftain.she had blond hair and blue eyes; she had very soft pale skin We always had small talk and would occasional eye each other before and after hunts. We sat alone together near a fire all the time and talked about things like what we did that day, or little stuff that would seem meaningless to others but to us was the most interesting things."
His smile turned somber. "It...would have flowered into a relationship, if it wasn't for what happened. We were very good friends, and I could tell that she wanted to be lovers as much as i did. Just too bad that we weren't able to move forward with our relationship before the attack. I don't know what happened to her, but she would have likely died along with everyone else." He was a little sad that it happened the way it did, but at least he spent the time with Lilith when he could.

Rose smiles as he describes the woman- though the terms are simple enough, it seems he was very fond of her. The way he describes their interactions remind her of a friend she'd had in school- they spent a year in a hesitant dance, flirting subtly and resting against each other when they had a moment alone.
Lilith-? She'd have thought it an unusual name for someone from Freljord. I don't suppose they would all have savage names...? There's Ashe, after all.
At the mention of Lilith's likely death, Sonder comes back from her reverie, and decides to try and cheer him. "If she was the chieftain's daughter, it's likely she had some sort of guard, isn't it?" Her sympathies are brought up by the story, though they're only subtly shown.
Though the sentiments was nice and he did smile at it, he knew better. He long since accepted the fact that his family has long since been dead. He missed them, and always will; However something in him knows to keep going.
"Thank you Rose, but It's Fine though. Even if she managed to survive the attack, It has been 80 years. I doubt she would be as lucky as I was." He sat there in momentary silence. He wasn't sure what else to say on it. "I'm Just glad i spent time with her. Not much sense moping about it now."
