Kassadin's eyes immediately darted towards the peaks that lined up in the horizon. Something - no, someone was orchestrating the assault from one of those peaks; pulling the strings from a safe, unreachable distance. He catched a glimpse of a dim purple light atop the highest peak. ... Malzahar.
The Voidwalker flexed his elbows and clenched his fists gathering his power; which made his body emanate a bright purple light. When he had mustered all of his magical might, Kassadin simply strode forward. It was something majestic - it seemed as if reality had folded upon itself so that Kassadin could get from one peak to another with one single step. Unfortunately, the incredible amount of energy Kassadin had stored lingered over the battlefield, creating a magical disturbance of colossal proportions.
Upon arrival, Kassadin would immediately attempt to thrust his nether blade into Malzahar's chest, trying to end his life then and there.

Malzahar smirked at the chaos ensuing below. Of course, the Preservers and extra artillery were making him on edge, wondering if there would be enough to finish off the opposition. He did not worry though, soon they would try a different approach and see how they would react to their attack.
Then he sensed another user of the Void closing in at a blink of an eye. He knew who it was as he saw Kassadin appear right before his eyes. He would barely, just BARELY dodge the blade, as he floated to the side gain some semi-safe distance from him. With that, purple mist began to come out from his eyes as he shoots out a beam of Void at Kassadin. It was the Nether Grasp, and he was planning on doing more than just damage and suppression.
While he would be doing damage and holding the Voidwalker in place, many of the Void took notice at the this man's presence. The Prophet seemed to engage in hostile combat with the Void being. Has this one turned bad and go against the Void? Soon, a group of barbarians, and suicide voidlings would throw themselves to Kassadin to attack. The barbarians were the first to come, so the other creatures wouldn't be his problem yet.

As Malzahar's eyes flared up with void energies, Kassadin covered his face with his forearms, bracing for the incoming attack. The nether beam would have instantly obliterated any other human, but thankfully, the void stones studded into the Voidwalker's armor absorbed good part of the blast. The excess energy was directed towards his nether blade, which pulsed and vibrated with power.
When he managed to free himself from Malzahar's grasp, he quickly assessed the situation - The explosive voidlings could wait; but the blades of those eight barbarians could prove bothersome. With a flick of his left hand, he released a wide wave of force towards Malzhar and four of the barbarians, hoping to buy himself some time. He then lunged towards the rest of the barbarians, slashing in a wide arc with his charged nether blade not once, not twice, but thrice - hoping to cut them down before they became trouble

Malzahar let out a grunt as the Force Pulse went through him. The other four voidbarians stumbled back slightly as they two were hit by the spell. It didn't kill them, but hitting them just once would do the trick onto them. They came charging back at the Voidwalker, striking all at once from multiple sides.
When he slashed three times at the other four, three let out screams of pain as they were cut down. The last barbarian on the other hand, raised one of its slimy tentacle arms and threw it out to grab a hold of Kassadin's arm that held his nether blade.
Malzahar now focused himself on Kassadin. Quickly, he summoned two portals side by side of Kassadin as they both shout out a blast of Void energy. However, do not think that such a commotion within the source of the oncoming void creatures would go unnotice. As the battle progressed, more of the Void would take notice and would rush at the enemy under Malzahar's command.

Jagged battleaxes and nether tentacles came towards Kassadin, seemingly from all directions. Two ominous portals opened each at his sides.
The Voidwalker closed his eyes for a brief moment. He had to get out of there, and there was only one way to do so. He opened his eyes and, in a purple flash, disappeared. Unfortunately, the hastily made gateway lingered for a split second - just enough for Malzahar's portals to shoot through. Instead of fully closing, the rift condensed into a single particle of nether force; ready to blow up at any moment.
Kassadin, however, managed to reappear back to back with Malzahar. It took him half a second to reestabilize himself after the hasty teleportation, but when he did; he turned around slashing with his blade, hoping to catch Malzahar unaware.

Malzahar had seen the Voidwalker coming, but he didn't have enough time to react. He moved back a bit but still got a cut on his gut. He let out a hiss of pain as he floated back, now able to move freely from the Force Pulse. Purple blood trickled from his chest as he glared at Kassadin.
He put out his hand as it bega to glow with powers of the unknown. Void energy began to swirl around his head as his Malefic Visions began to kick in. Kassadin's vision would soon change, if he turned to the frontlines, he could see the Void winning, blasting through the frontlines and killing everyone down there. Demacian, Ursine, everything. He would have to return back to the frontlines to save his allies, no? "We're winning Kassadin! Shall you persist with your selfish acts of my death or will you come here to do what you were meant to do and delay your inevitable demise?!"

Far, far away... within the farthest corners of the Void... Reiora felt a slight disturbance.
It was small. A strange loophole in the Void's dimensions. But it was enough for a certain girl to notice.
She was laying on a rock at the time, a decayed, void-covered rock, a rock hovering between absolute non-existence and the chaotic jungle of Void horrors from where it came. She was there, lounging as the creatures attacking her had stopped, for the first time in three years. This in itself had registered as strange to her, and now even stranger than that, there was a strange sort of singularity, pulsing several feet away from her.
After so long, this was something interesting, to shake up the monotony of millions of creatures aiming for your flesh. The girl (a strange creature herself, covered in a revealing steel armor and stretching out her long tail) rolled off her makeshift bed, and crawled half-cautiously, half-lazily towards the singularity.
What she saw interested her further still. This strange thing happened to be a result of Kassadin and Malzahar's fight. Two portals, opening up within each other, causing a third small rift to open up... which happened, again, to be right next to Reiora. The pulsing singularity opened up, and Reiora saw the mountain peaks of Freljord, in all their glory, and covered in an invading Void army. There, Kassadin and Malz fought, two high powered Void entities among the rest.
She licked her lips. Any memory she had of the place was gone or repressed, any memory of the two men on the mountain was gone or repressed. All she was could recognize was the massive amount of Void energy that could be taken from this place, from these two mages...
The appeal was too strong, and she tried carefully to test her finger on this makeshift portal. It gave way, then to her hand, and finally, she leapt in, not even realizing that she had finally escaped her prison, and was returning home.

Malzahar was ready to channel some more spells, as voidlings began to gather to attack Kassadin. However, he felt more presence of the Void. Was it one of his allies to come and help hi-...
No...
No no no no no no NO! How is she HERE?! She's supposed to be in the Void, dead even! His mind began to go into overload, thinking of some sort of plan. He can turn around and run now most likely, NO WAIT! She's been gone for so long, he'd probably won't recognize his father's face behind that mask, and his cowl could serve to advantage. His brows shaped to one of worry and fright. "Reiora! Reiora my daughter! Save me from this monster!" He shouted with his hands out. He wasn't sure if this would work, but the best way to beat someone was through deception and the mind, and he could gain an ally. His hands were out to her in desparation, but he was actually using his magics to put visions into her mind, and "memories" would begin to flash into her mind.
It was Malzahar and Reiora, when she was much younger. The lived happily in a great city called Icathia, teeming with life and creatures that lived in peace and happiness. Malzahar raised Rei with compassion and care. They were both happy, and their lives couldn't have been better. Then one day one of their own friends, Kassadin, turned on them and betrayed his people. He slaughtered Malzahar and Reiora's friends left and right, including their mother. Kassadin left and created portal, letting in the humans as they destroyed and killed many of their race, along with their home.
They all fled to a place called the Void, where Kassadin had controlled the people of the Void to kill Reiora, as his slaves were forced to hunt her down. They even took Malzahar, and shoved him back into the now human infested world. Kassadin had took him away from her to prevent her from reaching her power, and would do anything to keep them separated. However, they're here together now, and she could finally stop him and allow her to take back the world she lived so happily in.
He wasn't sure if this would be a bullet proof plan, as she was resilient just like her father, but the Void could have perhaps weakened her mind. It would be the only plan availabe until he would need to make an escape to his allies and keep his focus on the mountain.

Kassadin's vision blurred and tiented with purple. He glanced to the right, and saw his allies being slaughtered by waves of shadow. To the right, a humanoid, somewhat familiar creature viciously tearing the oposition apart. But he knew Malzahar - he knew this was but a parlor trick. The Voidwalker had seen lies far more horrifying than this.
An untimely defeat? My daughter, the one you took from me, corrupted? You expect me to whimper and cower before such lies, prophet? Focusing on Malzahar, the only being he knew for a fact was real, Kassadin projected a sphere of netherworldly energies towards Malzahar - at the very least, it would shut him up. Immediately after it was faired, he readied his nether blade and charged towards the prophet for another assault

(( A repost from the Base Camp to let you folks know what's going on. Full post is in the Base Camp Thread, but this is the stuff important to you void folks. ))
Miles away from the Base Camp, far from the edges of the fight, the portals of the Void were pumping out endless streams of warriors, all bent on devouring and conquering this land for themselves. However, above them, the clouds began to churn, faster and fast, blue, yellow, and white arcs of power arcing through the sky, until something unexpected pulsed into being. They were runic circles, floating high above the ground. For the first time since the banning of such things by the League, Rune Magic was being brought to the field of battle, all to put a stop to their invasion...
The circles spun faster and faster, before pulsing with a surge of light and power, lighting bolts crashing down, raining from the heavens to strike the portals, surrounding them with a nigh-impenetrable reversed barrier of golden light. Thunder rolled across the hills as the arcs paused and the circles faded from the sky, appearing on the ground below the portals. The Void had been cut off from their reinforcements completely. New portals would be capped by the same barriers, completely preventing them from reaching the front lines or supporting their allies. All at once, the infinite forces of the Void were no longer infinite...
However, what had transpired here was just the beginning of what was to come...
Rei had come through the unstable portal unscathed, and dropped on her feet onto the snow. She had yet to say a word, and only had a rather calm look on her light-skinned face.
What's going on...
There was far more to this scene than she had seen from the window. This place was chaos, a huge battle was taking place. The smell of blood... the biting, painfully cold air, The sounds and screams of battle...
She landed near two of the Void Barbarians. Instinctively, without even looking or moving her body whatsoever, she slashed at both of them with her bladed tail, a neat little souvenir she had received from her extended exposure to the Void.
Everything was so NEW! What was this place, this living, breathing world? She could feel her senses picking up things faster and more accurately. She took in air, air that didn't burn her lungs for the first time in years.
But any of that emotion on her face had long been suppressed, as she blankly examined the surroundings, only a few moments from landing.
Suddenly, memories. Malzahar had made the first move. Reiora's mind was an empty shell, now filled with everything coming back to her, everything being written, her life with the prophet, Kassadin's interference, her trip to
Gone. Kassadin had done something right then, silencing Malzahar and the visions with it. The memories cut off. Just like that, the massive repression re-took it's course. Her time and exposure in her Void Prison had made it that much more difficult for her to remember anything, let alone memories quickly added to her.
It would take much more to help Reiora remember her past.
But nonetheless, the empty shell had returned... almost unscathed. To say Malzahar's visions did nothing would be to lie: her solid repression was shaken, just slightly. But now, that mattered little. All Reiora could see was two targets, filled with Void Energy. And she wanted it. Badly.

Malzahar smiled ever so slightly behind his cowl. It was working! Now just push on a little mo-gone. Malzahar was struck by the orb of Void energy with a grunt of pain. He fell into the snow face first, looking back at Kassadin. He threw his hand out at him, as his servants charged at Kassadin. Now that the Void had no where to go, the Void could now focus on Kassadin. Seeing he was the only enemy in reach, voidlings upon voidlings started to swarm at Kassadin. The Void bombers from before were now close to Kassadin, one letting out a cry of warning before it would explode. Though now that the Void was closing in on the Voidwalker, it MAY be a good idea to pull out, now that all abilities to open portals are now unable to be made.
Reiora's movements were efficient. Three years of dealing with the void creatures. No breaks, no sleep. It was second-nature.
She leapt from her spot without a moment's notice, grabbing the near-exploding Void Bomber by it's head and vaulting over. Landing behind it with feet firm on the ground, still holding onto the head, she used the resulting momentum to lift the thing over and above her. Her tail worked in tandem, slicing upwards as she brought it forwards. The result? Reiora holding onto two halves of a void creature, one in each hand, a first assault of surprising strength.
With a quick tensing of her arms, however, something unique did happen: The creature began to disintegrate. Still barely realizing what had happened, the split bomber had its void energy drained from it. A fine, misty substance began to surround Rei and enter her skin, and the creature simply began to cease existing. Within a second, the absorption was complete, her target gone, and Reiora's hunger sated ever so slightly.
It was a rather interesting trick she had learned. The Void's unrelenting need to consume had twisted her, but her strong-willed lineage had at least changed that just a little. She wanted more of that energy, nothing else...
At that moment, she noticed the raw forces of rune magic making their play. The portals stopped flowing, sadly for her... but one large, horror filled one opened by Cho'Gath took it's place. This battle would not last long.
But the fight at hand took precedence. Only moments after absorbing the first, Reiora swung her tail around in a wide sweep, aiming at both the other bombers and Kassadin herself.
Reiora's mana: restored! Strength level: Stronger than average fighters, weaker than a champion.

In front of Kassadin stood Malzahar, powerless to act, with nowhere to go. He would finish this here and now. The Voidwalker pulled back his arm, ready to thrust it into Malzahar's chest.
He would have done it, were it not for the tremendous wave of void energies Cho'gath had unleashed. The torrent washed over him, and his muscles bulged with otherworldly energy. His mask cackled with purple lightning. His blade resonated with new found power. Kassadin's body hunched forward and he covered his head with his hand, trying to resist the corruption.
It was at this time that he was struck by a bladed tail. The force of the impact pushed him into his knee. Instinctively, Kassadin turned around to project a wave of force from his hand towards the attacker, but what he saw stopped him cold. What he thought was beast wore a familiar face over its shoulders.
...Reiora?
