((Short narrative story of the events after Xin Zhao's death))
The darkness crept closer, ething around him faded into nothingness. Nothing but the faint heartbeat from his chest, slowly dying until it halted to a stop. Silence fell, nothing around him that he could perceive. He tried to scream out for help, but no noise came out. He could not even see, he was lost in a silent rift, helpless, afraid, alone.
Death was a tingling sensation, unique in every way. His soul flared with delight, while at the same time his mind filled with regret and despair. He had failed his city of Demacia, and his death was without honor.
Demacia should not mourn his death.
The ground (if any) in front of him shook, and a massive structure rose from the ground gradually. Two black pillars rose tall and proud before him, and the gates between them still closed, a gigantic lock placed in the middle, with an intimidating skull symbol engraved on the rusting steel. The crimson red eyes stared back at him, and the ear-piercing scream of the dead made him fear what was to come...
For a moment, it seemed as though the skull had made a low grunting sound. Just then, the lock vanished into a cloud of thick smoke. The gates creaked open with a screeching noise - Death's door was already awaiting him. A lone figure of the Ruined King beckoned him to come closer, cackling manically; his blade placed atop single, long thread.
By whatever impulse, he felt himself being pulled over to the other side, each step in tune with the Ruined King's pull of the hand. He tried to fight it, but the ethereal chains connected to his chest were strong, and he could not do a single thing about it.
So this is how it will be, my death.
"Leave him alone!"
What was that?
The elegant form of a dragon quickly swooped down from above, and knocked Xin Zhao back. Who other could it be than... Yukiko?
He tried to open his mouth again, but no words came out, as usual. Yukiko walked over to him, and put a hand over his mouth, shushing him while looking back to the Ruined King.
"You. I cannot believe what you just did."
Xin Zhao tried to push her away, but his hand just phased through her. He closed his eyes, perhaps this wasn't real, perhaps it was just a dream.
"You let yourself get killed by the enemy. I mean, really? You're the Seneschal of Demacia, Viscero of the Fleshing! A single duel couldn't stop you! ... you fool."
She turned away, obviously hiding a faint blush. Xin Zhao tried to get up, but she slapped him down again. Odd ... He felt no pain, but the air around him seemed tense with hostility. A single tear ran down her cheeks, as she looked to Xin Xhao, her body becoming transparent .
"...I thought of you as a great warrior. You just decided to throw that away."
A single spot of light shone through the darkness, piercing the shadows. A beacon of hope, a sign of light! Yukiko however, was slowly fading to the darkness. Her words echoed through his mind, and become unclear.
"I... Don't care... What you think. I am saving you because..."
She looked away, before looking back again.
"I love you Viscero. The very moment we met."
The darkness enveloped her, until she was gone. The hollow light grew stronger, blinding him until it filled the whole area.
"YUKIKOOO!" He tried to grasp forward, but nothing happened. she was gone. Her sacrifice was to revive HIM, he did not deserve this large act of kindness. Why had she? It was all so puzzling.
A ghastly voice rang through...
"You are lucky to have someone who cares for you, young one. Cherish your second time... There will be no exceptions.
The light faded, revealing the city of Demacia behind the walls
The last thing he saw before he went unconscious was the face of many paramedics watching over him.
