Taric walked alone on the empty road. His trusty jewel encrusted hammer rested on his shoulder as he wandered Valoran, searching out those in need of one such as himself. Taric was a protector, one who would wield his weapons and the power of the earth for those in need of help. The gems on his armor and hammer refracted the sunlight, making him a sparking beacon in the distance. As he traveled he stopped momentarily and took a moment to enjoy a slight breeze that blew by him and smiled briefly. It was the small moments like these that reminded him of home, and reminded him of his true calling. Shifting the weight of his hammer slightly, Taric continued his journey. This journey had no set destination, only a set goal, to help those he encounters that need his aid. After a few weeks of wandering he would return back to his room at the Piltover Academy for some rest and to teach some lessons, as rare as that was, before setting out again to resume seeking out his purpose in life.
Taric stopped at a crossroads and gazed at the signs. Looking around he stroked his chin in thought as he considered where he would go. Shrugging to himself he took a few paces off the road and leaned against a nearby tree and took a pull from his canteen of water.
"A small rest shouldn't hurt while I decide where to go next."

After a few moments rest Taric stood up and took up his hammer again.Making sure he had all his gear he waled back onto the path and continuing on his way. Taking the right fork he paid no heed that he was walking toward Noxian territory as he wandered onward.

As the gem knight approached the noxian estate, what once was a black spot on the horizon turned out to be a colossal monolith of black iron and death. Noxus' latest project, dubbed "The Wall", was an impressive barrier that circled around Noxus - or would be, were it finished. Two great holes showed, awaiting to be completed after the Zaun-Noxus Railway was finished.
Patrols became more abundant as one drew closer to Noxus. In fact, if Taric payed attention, he would notice a three-men squad that actively followed him at a safe distance.

Taric stopped and gazed at the "Wall" as it loomed closure in the horizon. He had heard rumors of the Noxian's construction projects, but seeing this up close he couldn't help but to think if this wall was meant to keep intruders out, or to keep something in. Though his musings were interrupted when he noticed the Noxian troops had been shadowing him. After a moment he stopped and turned around towards where his shadows lurked, and set his hammer down with its grip in easy reach. After that he called out to them.
"Hello there, I know your there, So you might as well show yourselves. I mean no harm to anyone unless I am provoked, but I must insist that you stop shadowing me like this before I take it as a threat on my life."

The men would keep themselves at a distance, ignoring the gem knight's comments. Their weapons were lowered, as a sign of good will, but none of them responded to his words.

Taric frowned at the men and looked down the road where he was heading.Reaching out he picked up his hammer again and rested on his shoulder. At least they were not attacking him, though a bit of a response would be nice, but what else could he expect from the Noxian military. He looked back the soldiers he gave them a short wave as he spoke.
"Very well, it seems you mean me no harm at the moment and nothing I will say will sway you from your duties, but I am going to continue my way now."
He turned then and continue his way towards Noxus and their wall. Though he hated being watched, it was better than the alternative if they tried to attack him.

The amount of squads seemed to grow in number as one drew closer to the wall, presumably to protect the masons and engineers that worked on it at this very instant. His pressence seemed to draw the attention of every guard nearby, until one of the patrols dared to walk up to him. Their weapons were properly withdrawn, but otherwise there were no signs of aggression.
"Champion Taric", he called out. "I take it you wish to cross the noxian border?"

It wasn't hard to notice the increase of security as he made his way closer to the border. Same with all the nearby guards turning their attention to him. He looked around at his surrounding as he continued, unperturbed by all the extra attention. When he saw one of the patrols head towards him he stopped and waited for them. He nodded in response to the soldiers question as he spoke.
"Yes, I would like to cross the border and enter Noxus proper."
He shifted the weight of the hammer on his shoulder slightly as he continued to speak.
"There wouldn't be a problem with my visit, would there?"

The guards traded looks before answering. "Not at all. If you would follow us, we'll show you to the border pass." And with that, the patrol members turned on their heels and started walking towards the western part of the wall, guiding Taric to what seemed to be a modest porticullis. If he were to follow inside, he would find a rather large room, with shelves filled with binders and a soldier behind a table. "State name and business." without even lifting his gaze from his papers, until one of his fellows coughed for his attention. Upon seeing Taric he jumped in his seat and reached for a pen. "What business brings you to Noxus, champion Taric?

Taric gazed upon the architecture as he followed the soldiers into what he thought would be the border checkpoint. The wall looked sturdy, and seemed like they were aiming for the impregnable fortress look. As he entered the portcullis he walked up to the desk where the officer waited. He flashed a smile as the officer nearly jumped out of his chair. Taric held out his hand in a dismissive gesture as he set his hammer down to the floor.
"There is no need to be so nervous. As you guess I am the League Champion Taric. As for my business, I would like to see how Noxus is faring in spite of these recent hardships that the others have seen."
He pulled out his identification papers and set them on the desk for the border officer to check.
"Also I am taking a look at your jewelery market, see if there are any unique gems to add to my collection."

The soldier wrote down Taric's name, his business in Noxus and the date in one of the binders. "I assume you will have no trouble leaving your weapons behind then, sir? You may pick them up after your business is concluded."

Taric consider the man for a few moments before he set down the hammer and reached around. After a few swift motions he detached his shield from where it hung on his back and set down against the desk.Then he detached a dagger from his belt and added it to the weapons he set aside for the clerk. He looked at the officer at the desk afterwards and nodded.
"Was there anything else?"

Several soldiers came by and haled Taric's hammer and shield behind the counter. The man finished writing his notes and looked up at Taric with a warm smile. "Nothing else, sir. Welcome to Noxus."

Taric nodded at the man and returned his smile, thanking him as he did so. The gem knight then gathered his papers and turned continuing his way past the way point and into Noxus proper. He personally did not like leaving his armaments behind, but he was far from defenseless without them. The gems on his armor and circlet would catch the stray torchlight, making the man shine as he walked through the halls to exit on the other side of the wall.
(And now to migrate to the Noxus thread)
