February 18th 23 CLE
A white large passenger van with mud stains on the doors and tires, indicating that it was just returning from a long and harsh journey. It had been many months since Garth had been on Piltover's soil. It felt so good to breath that clean air, and hear the sounds of science filling the air. The sound of steam billowing out from nearby structures, students speaking about their thesis for their master paper.
Garth hopped out of the passenger van with a backpack on his back holding all the information he had recovered during the expedition. However, he then turned to get out a large suitcase that contained his extra clothes and some smaller equipment. Finally he leaned back into van and pulled out a box with even more data. The data he was carrying contained information about his adventures. From Kumungu's Mirror Pool to Frejlord's ancient tombs, and finally his encounter in Zaun. Yes, he learned much from his adventures, and grew up a lot too.
However, the expedition crew came out too. However, they brought an additional individual who had tagged along after Garth's adventure in Zaun. A cyborg or an augmented human much like him. Through the expedition team's return trip to Piltover, Garth tried to teach the cyborg, named TNS-4, many skills. From cooking (hit or miss) to healing, which Garth volunteered for. Furthermore, Garth tested to see what his nano-machines were capable of to see if maybe he would be useful in a more physical, but less violent profession.
The aspiring detective turned back to TNS-4 and gestured for him to follow, "Come on we're finally here. You might as well get a look at the greatest academy in the entire world!"

TNS-4 climbed out of the van, looking around. He had learned that his nanites were, in fact, capable of not only harming his opponents, but healing his allies. Unfortunately, they were difficult to control, and seemed to act almost independently. He would seem to be a normal human, nothing out of the ordinary about him unless one were to examine his wrists, which would have a slit and small hole where the blades hidden in is forearms extended and the holes where nanites could easily be released when called into action.
He had followed Garth since Zaun and followed the orders given. Though he failed to understand why he was given orders to cook. He was capable of eating most food raw without getting sick. When Garth gestured, he followed, taking a brief glance at the Academy. "Where do you recommend I go from here?"

"To be perfectly honest that is completely up to you. You might wander around the academy to see what interests you or maybe to find out more about Piltover." Garth explained, "However you might need to visit the capitol building where the Piltover Parliament is located at. They ought to be able to get you a citizenship or at least direct you in the right direction."
Garth pondered for a moment trying to remember where his Aunt Ada had taken him to get his citizenship, "I'm pretty sure it is the capitol building, but I might be wrong. However, I need to get this data to the library at least so it can be filed away for further examination." he said gesturing to the cardboard box at his feet filled with journals and papers....it was quite the mess to be honest.
"Who knows we might bump into someone who could help us, or might be interested in the skills that you developed. I could easily see Heimerdinger or Jayce being interested, I'm not so sure about anyone else though." The latter part of the speech seems to Garth's own musing as he considered the two champion's personalities.

In his laboratory, Jayce sneezed. It felt like someone was talking about him.
He picked up his newly pioneered invention, he remembered that he was going to take it to Prof. Heimerdinger for an inspection and evaluation at the Academy of Science and Progress. He got up, his hammer slung across his back, and the small gadget tucked safely in a box in his pocket.
He reached the Academy of Progress a few minutes later, only to find two very peculiar people - probably not from around Piltover - right in front of the academy. They seemed... special, in a way, especially the younger one. It piqued his interest greatly.
Should he go in to interact? They might find him weird! Then again, he was a champion of the league, one of them would surely know about him. Thinking it through carefully, he walked over to greet them casually.
"Hello! How are you today? ... You two aren't from around here, right?"

Garth heard footsteps approach and saw Jayce approaching, "Well speak of the isles." he muttered to himself as Jayce came closer. His eyes settled on Jayce before explaining, "I used to go to school here, but I just came back from a research expedition, so I'm from around here. However, my companion here, TNS-4, is not from around here. In fact, it is his first time here in Piltover." Garth patted TNS-4 on the shoulder as he said this and gave the nano-machine hive a glance before looking back to Jayce.
"So, Jayce, what brings you to the Academy of Progress?" The aspiring detective asked, "I don't recall seeing you around here often? I figure you spend a lot of time in your lab planning another way to keep Piltover safe from the Glorious Revolution that Viktor keeps going on and on about."
Garth left out the little bit about rescuing TNS-4 from Viktor, young man was not quite sure how Jayce would handle TNS-4's origin. Garth recognized his own experiences were playing a factor in his decision, however for the time being it may be for the better of TNS-4 and himself.

TNS-4 heard Jayce approaching and turned to face the Defender. Since Garth chose to answer for him, he remained completely silent. Garth's quick glance received a five second bored-looking stare in response, the gaze fell for a few seconds on where his shoulder had been pat. People had such strange habits... The forever neutral expression was aimed once again at Jayce, however one might sense a sort of tenseness in the boy, as though he was ready to attack Jayce at any moment, not unlike a snake that lying coiled, waiting to see if a human comes too close to it.

"I see! Well, I'm here at the Academy for some business with Prof. Heimerdinger." He held up his device for the both of them to see, before putting it in his pocket. "It's a miniature sensor that I developed for... another champion. I thought that it would be useful for other applications of course, so I decided to make another one, and present it to the Prof. himself!"
He turned to face TNS-4, the neutral stare disturbing him slightly. He decided to take no notice, but he also tried to make conversation as well.
"So... your name is TNS-4, right? Nice to meet you."
((Sorry, been really busy)) "Yes, I am TNS-4." He looked down at Jayce's hand for a few seconds. One of those strange things people seemed to do for no reason. Still, he had been told that shaking hands was the "proper" thing to do. He took Jayce's hand, though it would seem he was still cautious as to whether or not Jayce was friend or foe. It also would seem as though he didn't know exactly what he was doing. The neutral expression remained plastered on his face, despite all of this.

Jayce nodded, before taking his hand back. He promptly took out a small notepad, with a PDA binded to the side with a cover, and then started to take some notes, all while trying to communicate with the professor. He wanted to let Heimerdinger know that he would be late, the boy had already made him curious enough as it is. He wanted to know more.
"So... Garth, was it? I must ask, where exactly did you rescue TNS-4 from?"

Garth scratched the back of his head obviously nervous about answering Jayce's question. The boy knew he was absolutely horrendous at lying though, and he would rather not lie to Jayce, lest it get back to someone else.
"Well ya' see it's a rather funny story." The young man began to fidget with his finger before finishing, "I rescued him from Zaun, from your arch enemy specifically. Who didn't take rejection well and then proceeded to try and kill us." Garth hoped that Jayce wouldn't try to destroy TNS-4 outright with that information, but he wouldn't do that, right? He wants to help the citizens, as well as, "future" citizens of Piltover.
....or so Garth hoped.

"Archenemy... Viktor? Why..." He turned to look at TNS-4 with a hint of anger in his eyes, but he remained calm otherwise. The boy seemed ready to explode at any given moment. "I see. Well, glad that you both are safe from him." He patted TNS-4 on the head, smiling warmly. Such a young child having to go through the horrors of Viktor's experiments... his hate for the man boiled up immensely at the thought.
TNS-4 fave no reaction to Jayce patting him on the head. What purpose was he doing this for? It did not appear hostile, so he did not attack... Strange, they seem to believe that this Viktor had created him. He decided it would be best to remain silent on the matter, as the information might be to his advantage, and if Jayce did need to know, he could be told the truth.

"Thank you sir!" Garth said snapping a quick salute to Jayce before deciding to ask him a few questions, "Jayce, maybe you can actually help TNS-4 and I out a little bit. I brought him to Piltover with my word that he would not be experimented on without his permission, because that is the law around here. However, he needs to get a job, citizenship, and a weapon's license."
Garth scratched the back of his head and sighed, "What I'm trying to say is that he needs work, because getting his citizenship and a weapon's license are going to take time. Do you have any ideas that could help us out a bit?"

"Haha, no need to call me 'Sir', Mr. Garth. I'm just an average citizen of Piltover!" He turned his head to TNS-4 again, upon Garth mentioning the boy needing a job.
"A job... a job... would he be interested in being under apprenticeship for a while? I could use an assistant in the lab, and that qualifies as a job in Piltover. Luckily for him I never perform experiments on humans, so he'll be safe with me." He nudged the boy with his elbow. "Whaddya say, sport?"
