Zanorin, the Silent
Monk

Ionia
True Neutral
Zanorin has honed his mind and body over the years. His extreme focus on discipline and Chi management grant him the following skills and abilities.
Force Flurry:
Whenever Zanorin attempts a melee attack against a foe, he can release a wave of force from his body to hit every enemy within melee range immediately after the attack. The open strike is quasi-instantaneous, deals almost negligible damage, and pushes every target hit five feet away from Zanorin. Larger opponents will be pushed less while smaller ones will be sent further.
One-Inch Palm Strike:
Zanorin channels his chi for half a second And then unleashes a devastating close-rang palm strike towards his target. This technique deals a moderate amount of damage, and is always followed by a Force Flurry.
Will of the Mountain:
Zanorin calls upon his willforce, bolstering his defenses for a few seconds (3 posts). While empowered, lesser crowd control (slows, blinds, silences) has no effect on Zanorin. Half of the damage that Zanorin would take while empowered is instead spread over a few seconds (3 posts) at the end of the duration.
Mystical Finger Jab:
Zanorin strikes one of the target's vital points with one finger, overloading it with Chi. The target takes ongoing damage for 4 seconds. The target also becomes stunned for half a second upon cast. After the stun, the target is then rooted for 1 second. Finally, after the root, the target becomes slowed for 1,5 seconds. This ability puts a great tax on Zanorin's Chi, and as such can not be used too often (~15 seconds).
Silent Judgment:
Zanorin channels his Chi into himself and then releases it in the form of a powerful, voiceless shout that emanates a gale of force against a target. The target becomes surrounded by the powerful currents, that suppress it for 1.8 seconds.
Zanorin is a muscled man, standing 1,79m (5ft 10,5inches) tall, dressed in leather wrappings and robes. His head is completely bald, but he possesses a prominent brown beard. Around his neck, he wears red-colored beads, as a collar.
Zanorin was born in a small village within Ionia's mountainside. Zanorin, however, was not a normal child - he didn't speak. No one actually knew why he didn't speak. Some believed he was mute, others believed he was ill. The reason remained unknown until one of the tribe elders decided to questions the spirits, right when Zanorin became of age. The elders performed the ritual, but the spirits did not answer. They thought of this as an ill omen, believing Zanorin's destiny to be grim and dark. Out of pure irrational fear for the safety of their village, The elders banished Zanorin from their village. After bidding farewell to his family and friends, Zanorin packed his belongings and made his way out of the village.
He lived in the forests of Ionia for a while, until he came across one of the Hirana monks. Curious, the monk asked the boy why he lived by himself in the forest. Zanorin simply gazed at the monk, unable to respond. The monk tried to converse with Zanorin in an attempt to find out something about the him. Zanorin made it painfully obvious that he was not able to speak at all. The monk took pity in the young boy and invited him to the Hirana monastery, promising him a decent home.
At the monastery, the monks instructed Zanorin in their ways. He was taught how to mediatate and to control his inner strength. But above all; he was taught that actions speak louder than words and that, with training and discipline, his actions could make up for his lack of speech. The young boy honed both his body and mind and, over the years, became a beloved, selfless figure within the monastery. Zanorin showed great potential, and the monks noted this.
When the head of Hirana passed away, the monks called upon an ancient ritual - the Rite of Ascension; a most glorious competition in which twelve monks proved their worth to determine a new leader. The man (now elder) that invited Zanorin to the monastery put his support behind him so that he may compete. For many weeks, the monks competed against each other; with tests ranging from single combat to trials of both physical and mental endurance. In the end, Zanorin remained as the victor. Before he could become Hirana's spiritual leader, he had to carve a proverb on the wooden walls of the ruler's lodgings, with his bare hands. For weeks, Zanorin carved the wall with nothing but his fists, until one could finally read his sentence on the wall, just below the former leader's one. "If you cannot improve on silence - do not speak."
As head of the monastery, his daily routine did not change much. Zanorin would still train and meditate every day, following the teachings of the former spiritual leader - "Before enlightment, chop wood, carry water. After enlightnemt, chop wood, carry water." He remained within the monastery, spreading his teachings to anyone willing to learn; until news about the imminent destruction of Valoran came to his ears. The Void invaded Frejlord, the Ruined King and his minions attacked Demacia... Fearing for the worst, Zanorin travelled down the monastery into the capital, offering his life to Irelia, current captain of the guard, in defense of Ionia.
