Legion relinquished it's hold on the weakened Legionnaires, allowing the King to take what power remained in them. The two remaining would turn and approach Soul and the other Legionnaire. The one that Soul was trying to stab would allow the dagger to get buried into its head, but afterwards the Legionnaire would reach up and grab onto Soul's wrist, aiming to make it difficult to get away as the other two aimed to attack him from the sides.
Legion Health-Moderate Hosts-3 1 damaged with piercing weapon but still usable. Strengthened by the proximity to the Core
"We are the King's Legion. Fear us, for we are many. Join us, for you will die. There is no sweeter mercy we can grant than your release from the mortal coil."
Soul barely had any time to react as the Legionnaires surrounded him. "Wait, what the--"
There wasn't any time for combat measures, let alone running away measures. He just closed his eyes, hoping it would at least be quick. However, as Legion would grasp his unprotected hand, both him and the legionnaire would see a quick flash of white light, followed by a blitz of images from Soul's humanhood. The images barely lasted half a second, leaving Soul slightly stunned, as they had just witnessed half his life in no time at all.

Hecarim had managed to conjure a large spirit of the dread around himself keeping Karthus's tendril at bay for now, he rose up with his halberd in his hands and the spirit fire around him a mighty blaze with a look of anger at Ryuki and suddenly charged forward with a powerful Onslaught of Shadows toward her with halberd raised high, any spell or attack launched at him during the charge would be seemingly ignored, he was done fooling around with this battle after Karthus's interference and wanted this mission to be over swiftly, As he made his way through the cathedral to her he let out a battlecry that would shatter any living's eardrums.
Swiftly the naginata would be spun around her, forcing the high current of wind to amplify forming a barrier around her. She'd step forward with the tip of the blade aimed forward towards Hecarim as he would charge her, bracing herself for the impact that was incoming with unbroken motion. Her aim set towards his torso right where the transition of his upper body meets that of the horse portion.
Her eyes grew more fierce, burning with fiery gold as she felt an undeniable fear rush through her entire being, forced back with feet skidding across the floor from the impact. Should her naginata pierce his body, she would hold it there for as long as she could. Her teeth gritted, frozen momentarily by the effect of his ultimate. Riddled with unrelenting fear.
Status - Good, feared. Broken Mirror active; The naginata is spun around her quickly, causing the wind to pick up and shield her briefly. For each person she hits, the shield strengthens and the duration lengthens giving her resistance to projectiles, or melee attacks. Small chance to ricochet projectiles. Passive active - bonus protection from damage for first 2 seconds of combat after being out of combat briefly.

The Ruined King quickly summoned a crude barrier to stand against the blast of orange magic from Karthus, a rather violent crackle of energy erupted from the shield as it was blasted to pieces by the blast of magic, the king taking the hit in his chest causing him to take a step back and grunt with the pain that came with being hit by the spell. Thankfully Karthus' distance to the king had given him time to erect the barrier in time to absorb the majority of the damage along with the aid from his soul infusion.
The king simply growled as two of the Legion hosts relinquished control and siphoned the remaining energy to the king, further empowering him. The black fog that had filled the room now intensified making it extremely difficult to see. If anyone tried to sense the ruined King's soul they would feel as though he was all around him, his physical form had no soul, it had been torn out, split and anchored to the isles many hundreds of years ago.
With the added power of both his soul infusion and the extra power from Legion's two hosts, the king's already immense power was strengthened even further, however, instead of outright attacking Karthus he raises his hand towards Hecarim and begins whispering in an ancient tongue from back when his kingdom still ruled. The power from the two hosts would be filtered into Hecarim, increasing the amount of punishment he could take and increasing his physical strength by a fair amount.
The Ruined King's eyes return to Karthus, "Last chance lich. Leave this place, hand over the soul or I will rip this cathedral down around you."
I am the one who defied death. I am the one he fears. I am the on he can not take. One sweep of my hand and your nations will fall. Come for me you worms. You will all bow before my legions or be broken beneath us as we march upon your cities.

Karthus' golden eyes burned through the King's unholy fog. He realized that this was a losing battle.... Hecarim would probably take Ryuki if this went on much longer, and then Soul would be sent back to Death's Realm as well. He chided himself for thinking that they could stand against the King by themselves....It was time for a tactial retreat.
Karthus pointed his staff towards Ryuki and his free hand towards Soul, encanting a simple spell - Tesahceuh tuun! - which opened a small portal immediately underneath them. The portal would swallow them up, sending them to a secure location that Karthus knew very well, a place where they would find refuge until he followed after them.
"You shall not take my minions, corpse king.... However, Death wishes to collect upon your debt to him!"
Karthus drained the extra energy in his scythe to form an empowered barrier around himself - Bmidu'c Bnudaldeuh - before he began to chant, causing the very foundations of the temple to begin quaking.

Seeing Ryuki raise her weapon Hecarim continues the charge uncaring of the damage she could inflcit should he make contact with her blade, he had his spirit of the dread in case he sustained too much damage and even with Karthus empowering her he was sure he could fight slightly wounded. But then the Ruined King's power surged through him and he felt "young" and powerful again, and at that moment as he was inches away from Ryuki's blade and looked into her eyes that were filled with fear hidden by a facade of confidence.
And then, she vanished. Hecarim cut his charge to a sharp halt and turned around with a look of fury in his eyes that were locked onto Karthus, he had interfered with his battle AGAIN and if not for the sudden shaking of the cathedral he would be charging towards him for revenge, but now was not the time for that. In fact Hecarim was not sure what time it was, unsure whether to interfere in his king's battle he simply watches the battle between the two.
Legion was slightly dazed as Souls life passed through it's minds. It recovered slightly before Soul did and made it's move to deliver the coup de grâce, then Karthus evacuated both Soul and Ryuki. As the Legionnaires looked at the spot where their opponent left behind, Legion itself was processing the events that transpired when it touched Souls bare "skin".
"We are the King's Legion. Fear us, for we are many. Join us, for you will die. There is no sweeter mercy we can grant than your release from the mortal coil."
Soul was about to die when suddenly, he fell into a darkness, a darkness that seemed to never end. He kept on falling, and it looked like he was going to be falling indefinitely. Suddenly, however, in the far-off distance, he saw a faint, glimmering light. And it looked like he was heading for it.
As he hit the light, it was like he fell through a sheet of glass, a shattering sound accompanying his impact with the ground. He tried to get up and look around for a moment, but before he could, there was another, smaller shattering sound, and as he glanced up, he was met by his missing gauntlet, which managed to hit him in the face.
When he recovered, he took in his surroundings, hopefully not to be met by another surprise. Surrounding him was muck and trees. Looked like a marsh. And, as would be expected, having landed in the marsh, he was covered in muck. Now he looked worse than before. No matter, though. If Master sent him here, it was with good intention, and he wasn't re-dead yet. He sat down on a tree root and waited for Master to come, because for certain, he would come.
All are equal in death; it's just that some people are more equal than others.
As the distance rapidly waned, the emptied emotion replaced by a fear that was relentless in its assault would also begin to fade. The naginata braced tighter with the slow recession of his ultimate, allowing her a chance to retaliate. However that was lost the moment the portal appeared. She hadn't the time to react before the darkness swallowed her up.
Twice now her battle was interfered with. Twice now her chance for a good battle was taken away. One could not measure the amount of anger that welled up within the warrior's heart as she fell through the endless darkness. The sensation of falling was blasted away as wind rapidly sliced the air around her, obscuring her body only to be replaced by shimmering white scales. The dragon beast accelerating through the air until the light beckoned her towards it. Quickly, with eratic motions would Ryuki move forward into it only to find herself falling --
And likely landing atop of Soul.
The Ionian dragon hissed as she would burst from the muddy swamps possibly pushing Soul deeper into its murky waters. She quickly moved to the land, shaking her body out like a wet animal to clear the shimmering white of her scales of the dirt and grime. Once again, Soul may end up receiving a couple extra layers of mud should he be near enough to her for it to splash onto him.
Soul was promptly surprised by Ryuki falling on top of him, and while it didn't hurt to get buried in the mud by her weight, it certainly was annoying to have even more mud scattered on him. He sighed, leaning on the ground he was now embedded in for support. "Well...that was to be expected."
He tapped impatiently. "Excuse me, Ryuki? We've got time to kill until Master gets here. Mind telling me why you have an incredibly frequent habit of why you enjoy attempting to kill me as an alternative to whatever time we have?" He then went silent. "Also, could you help me out? This isn't quite as comfy as it looks."
All are equal in death; it's just that some people are more equal than others.
The dragon bent her neck to stare down at Soul with those fiery golden orbs, ever vigilant to his presence and their place. She recognized the marsh, though from where escaped her. The cold exterior returned once the fear had washed away completely.
Ryuki leaned down and clamped her maw around his clothing to yank him from the mud. He'd dangle in the air a moment, then be dropped over dry ground with no consideration for the resulting thud that would likely follow. Not a word spoken, nor her gaze offered to him as nostrils flared to take in the smells around her.

"Now you run like a coward! Do you fear me?!" The Ruined King walked closer as Karthus chanted, his whole being engulfing in cyan spirit fire, his shadowy black cape billowed out behind him as the King raised his arms out to the side. Several chains enveloped in the fire immediatly coiled around his forearms. With a growl the Ruined King sent the chains shooting outwards impaling themselves in the stonework of the cathedral's structure sending chunks of stone crumbling to the ground where the chains imbedded themselves.
The fire flared around the king as he began hauling on the chains, he was literally attempting them rip down the cathedral around them, "And now run the coward you are. You are servant to a fool Karthus. In the end nothing you do will matter, you will not stop me. You CANNOT stop me!"
I am the one who defied death. I am the one he fears. I am the on he can not take. One sweep of my hand and your nations will fall. Come for me you worms. You will all bow before my legions or be broken beneath us as we march upon your cities.

A chilling laugh rang out over the King's taunts when Karthus finished chanting.
"Death doesn't enjoy being insulted, worm. Allow me to introduce you to him.....
With a final word, the very air around Karthus' protective sphere seemed to vibrate with power as the King started to feel a nearly irresistable pull towards the center of the temple. The temple itself started to crumble around the gathered undead, while several of the stones were captured by necromantic magics and arranged into a archaic archway.
EIHWAZ
The air within the arch shattered, devolving into a churning mist of negative energy as the fabric of Runeterra was ripped open to create a portal into Death's realm. The King could feel something....truly horrible, and beyond mortal comprehension, staring back at him from the blackness of that void which drew him in like a fisherman reeling in his catch. It was the gaze of Death itself.
His energy reserves all but spent, Karthus used his last motes of energy to transport him to the Howling Marshes, leaving the King to fall beyond Death's Door. ------------------------------------------------------- Karthus Condition - Drained Spells cast this round: Death's Door-(ground-effect, TRK), Dimension Door-(Self) Active Status Effects - Eternal Foe: 3 posts, Energy charge: 0 spellcasts

The King's body seems to relax as he stares into the black suffocating void, the rune upon his neck searing with agonizing pain yet he doesn't seem to react. The chains that had been tearing at the walls grew slack in his arms, the Ruined King stared defiantly back into deaths gaze, his voice thundered around the crumbling cathedral, "Legion! Relinquish your hosts! Hecarim retreat!"
The King felt himself being pulled into archway, with a defiant growl he tightened his grip upon the chains, his heavily armored body barely keeping him from being swept into the doorway to death's realm. He glared into the blackened void, his voice now a low growl, "I defied you once! I will do it again! You will not, you cannot claim me!" The cyan spirit fire that currently engulfed the King's form flared once more, the cyan color turning black as he slowly neared the gateway, his sabatons had dug into the solid ground, gouging great chunks from the stone foundations of the cathedral as he slowly was dragged forwards. The chains tighten once more, great cracks splitting the across the walls of the cathedral as the King uses the cathedral itself to hold himself from being pulled in, he roars at the great blackness before him, "I AM YOUR MASTER!!"
