Name: Nicholas Maximillian Von Ravencroft... and Zero.
Alias: That Summoner with that Golem Girl
Class: Summoner, Artificer and Golem
Race: Human and Construct
Age: 33 and 3
Occupation: Silver Summoner, Artificer Department
Residence: The Institute
Alignment: True neutral
Abilities:
MAGICAL ITEMS: As an Artificer, Nicholas can create and use magical items.
Robe of Useful Items: This magical robe has many strange patches on its surface. The user may speak a command word to activate these patches conjure forth a mundane, useful item. The items may be returned to the robe and be restored to their optimal condition.
Field Knife, Lantern, Hand Mirror, Ten Foot Pole, Rope (50 ft), Chalk, Sack.
Cloak of Invisibility: Become Invisible when cloak is worn. Up to six turns of invisibility a day.
Arcane Map: A magical, 12"x18" map of enchantment parchment that, when activated, maps the immediate area's terrain and topography. If the area mapped is warded, any living thing that passes near a ward's area of detection shows on the map. Nicholas may also remotely view the area covered by the ward.
WARDS: Perhaps one of the most underrated skills ever to grace a Summoner's resume, Nicholas excels in the manufacture and use of wards. Nicholas is a skilled artificer who oversee and teaches ward production. He can also customize their appearance. He has also created special variants for his own personal use. Wards last about thirty minutes, or about fifteen turns.
Proximity Ward: these spherical wards function as normal, but when armed, they become deadly, mobile mines- any hostile creature will trigger it to sprout from the ground, roll rapidly towards the target and explode with the force of a claymore. Has true sight.
Tracker Ward: Like the Proximity Ward, this mobile ward is capable of locking onto a target and following it. However, the ward itself stays at a reasonable distance, and records how far it has traveled. Has true sight.
REPAIR: Nicholas is capable of repairing artifacts and constructs, turrets and wards whether by mundane repair of using his magic to repair them with the 'Mend' or 'Repair' spells.
Zero: Zero is Nicholas’s greatest discovery, a portable Golem-Spirit that doubles as a repository for artificer lore. More than a mere command-driven program, this artificial spirit is self-aware and intelligent to an incredible degree, but lacking in free will or memories.
Adamantine Core: A small, crystal, mathematically perfect sphere encased in solid adamantine and reinforced with protection runes, which is Zero’s original Core. The Core can project Zero’s image, allowing her to speak with the summoner in real time. It also allows her to transfer into a body. While it can be easily removed from a body, removing the Core instantly will fizzle an hour of memory prior to removal; it takes a 1 minute ritual to properly remove the Core. it takes a one-hour ritual for Zero to install herself into one.
ZERO’S ABILITIES:
Mono-Wheel
Zero transforms into a wheel, increasing her mobility and defense but rendering her unable to perform normal tasks. If she is able to slowly build up speed and momentum, she will be able to function as a weapon, a literal wrecking ball. If she can launch from an elevated position, the damage only goes up more.
While in Wheel Configuration, Zero’s maneuverability decreases as speed increases, and must slow down when making turns or stopping completely lest she overshoots and launches herself at something she did not intend to. Taking sufficient collision damage in wheel configuration stuns her momentarily.
Zero has higher acceleration and adherence on metal surfaces, achieving her highest speeds on rail tracks as well as preserving maneoverability at high speed.
Zero may exit Wheel mode at any time, even on the move. Wheel mode requires adds a global 3 turn cooldown before using any other ability.
Throw Anything: Zero is capable of tossing heavy objects, or punching human sized enemies across the room. She may also perform a powerful jump and crash down with meteoric force. The self-jump adds a global 3 turn cooldown before any abilities can be used; throwing others does not.
Resistant Skin: As a golem, Zero has incredibly high resistance to harm. She is immune to cold and lightning, highly resistant to fire and corrosion, and shrugs off copious amounts of physical damage.
The Implacable: Upon destruction, with a delay of up to three turns, Zero revives to a maximum of 40% hp. Rate of recovery now varies to extent of physical damage and condition of body, though minimum is three turns. One week cooldown / only once per thread. If say, the body were blown to bits, a few more turns are needed for the limbs to crawl back to the body. If parts are prevented from rejoining the body, Zero may go about limbless.
The Core can generate the energy for a 5% hp Resurrection protocol in 3-4 weeks; it takes one week for Nicholas to charge it.
As a construct, Zero does not truly die- she can be disabled, but as long as Nicholas can rebuild, she can be restored.
Attacks that completely disintegrate the body may prevent use of Resurrection protocols. The Core, however, is treated as separate from the body. As an artifact from the Institute's Vaults, it was constructed with forgotten techniques, and can withstand orders of magnitude more physical and magical punishment than any current body Nicholas can build.
Zero can be permanently killed by destroying her Core. The means of destroying her core are to be further explored, but it will involve extremely high levels of magic.
ZERO IN NON-COMBAT:
Shoulder light: Zero possesses a light source mounted into her shoulder.
Shared Senses: Zero shares a telepathic link with the summoner, allowing him to see and hear what she does.
Swiss Arm: Zero can produce a variety of tools with her arm.
Zero possesses a large amount of arcane lore regarding artificer craft, though she herself cannot make anything magical as she does not generate her own mana. Lilith’s mind is highly advanced and able to store large amounts of data, though again she is unable to utilize it herself. She is, essentially, a walking library.
Relationships:
Foster Parent: Nicholas was an orphan raised by a kindly old nun back in Ionia. He visits there from time to time.
Zero: The most significant change to have happened in Nicholas's life, discovering Zero made the summoner the success he is today.
Description:
NICHOLAS’S PHYSICAL APPEARANCE: A fairly short summoner of unimpressive presence. Nicholas frequently neglects his own grooming and is usually with a five o'clock shadow.
Height: 5’3"
Weight: 75 kg (~165 lb)
Hair: Blonde
Eyes: Brown
ZERO’S PHYSICAL APPEARANCE: Zero’s appearance is highly mutable because she has an outer “shell” made of ceramic, allowing her to change her appearance and appear mostly human in proportion. Without this shell, she appears like a skeleton-thin covered with artificial muscle fibers, looking like an impossibly armored anorexic- a chilling appearance. Without the lenses of her face, her eyes glow with a cold, teal energy.
Height: 5’6"
Weight: 800 kg (0.8 Tons)
Hair: Black
Eyes: Brown
NICHOLAS’S PERSONALITY: Nicholas’s poor performance throughout his life stems from his lack of self-confidence; rather than focus on the merits of what ability he has, he constantly bemoans the capability he lacks.
After discovering the Core, Nicholas went from introverted and anti-social to someone who seemed genuinely capable and interested in their work and co-workers. He doesn’t truly appreciate most of his peers though- most of them thought that Nicholas after all, would never succeed. Indeed, given the appearance of his ‘creation’, some mock his social preferences.
In the present though, Nicholas remains a fairly paranoid and slightly insecure young man, unsure of his place in the world or his grip on the knowledge he obtained. He sincerely tries to learn harder, but gravely fears someone discovering the nature of his assistant.
Wishing to make up for his poor self-esteem, Nicholas outwardly tries to prop himself up as a problem solver and leader, and somehow, slowly, he begins to believe it.
ZERO’S PERSONALITY: Encyclopedically intelligent and introspective, but easily awed by the mundane things in the world. Her lack of a memory, couple with a curious personality makes her come off as slightly innocent, though she is capable of pretending to be an automaton.
Biography:
EARLY LIFE:
An Orphan raised in Ionia, Nicholas's foreign ethnicity and shy, intelligent nature mad hime few friends and only grew close to the monk in charge on his orphanage. He was discovered to have magical aptitude, and thus was schooled for it, though the school itself was fairly limited in its scope of teaching.
The young wizard Nicholas Von Ravencroft entered the Institute a barely passing, no-named magician of fairly insignificant capabilities. The councilors barely noticed the young man, predicting him to be a summoner of no great consequence.
Working for the Institute, Junior Summoner Nicholas Von Ravencroft would become an artificer summoner in charge of creating wards and minions, and it seemed given his limited abilities he would likely spend the rest of his days in such a position.
THE CORE:
Despite his fairly low capabilities, Nicholas yearned to advance in position and ability, and spent much of his precious free time doing an arcane thesis on golem craft. Being the opportunist, he used his position to access the relic vaults- considering he’d been reduced to janitorial duties at that point.
Many of the arcane relics within the vaults proved to be too powerful and too dangerous for the Artificer’s limited power and knowledge, until he stumbled upon the vaults of the old minions. With little to lose, he scooped up a large handful of old arcane items – most of which he didn’t even know about- and would by chance come upon the Core of an extremely advanced Artificial Sentience that, not only accurately identified and cataloged most of the artifacts in the vaults, but also held an incredible repository of knowledge concerning golemcraft and artificer craft in general.
The Sentience meanwhile, was ever grateful to be found again- though ‘she’ has no memory of anything from before she was put in the vault. Her Core was missing memory matrices, but her knowledge was intact. The Summoner, working on a golem thesis, as well as using the knowledge within the Core herself, fashioned her a new memory matrix, earning the sentience’s gratitude.
His career taking off, Nicholas names the Sentience Zero.
Nicholas suspects the Core to have been the creation of a previous Artificer, but does not pursue any further investigation into the matter.
ZERO:
Over time, Nicholas’s performance and competence slowly grew as he drank up the knowledge within the Core with a gusto akin to greed. He was able to radically speed up his own ward and minion creation, and improve the methodology to the extent of earning an assistant instructor position.
As he worked on his golem thesis, Nicholas completely surprised his jury by creating a walking, talking golem assistant in the form of a young woman- something his detractors pointed out as a failing of his social skills. He silenced all his critics with theorems and applied craft, using the knowledge gleaned from the vast, unknown lore that was deposited into the Core.
PRESENT DAY:
Nicholas went from a no-name, low level summoner to a ranked summoner in a deliberately slow pace, as to avoid rousing suspicion. He would be a mainstay in the Institute’s Circle of Artificers, as well as being given other duties given his sudden surge of ‘capability’. With League matches postponed and the artifacts expertly cataloged and filed away with Lilith’s help, the summoner was likely to be recommended to try for higher positions, perhaps even Wardenship.

POSSIBLE PLOT HOOKS:
- The minions at the Institute are being re-purposed for war, and the Artificers' circle is charged with their re-programming. Nicholas is seen as a candidate to lead the program, but just how advanced is the golem craft within Zero's Core?
- The institute grows low on labor and manpower. Minions are re-purposed for multiple purposes; Nicholas proposes creating advanced constructs capable of building other constructs... this draws the ire of artificers, citing that such a thing would put a great number of summoners out of work.
- Zero's intellect and self-awareness are witnessed or exhibited by summoners, causing Nicholas to be called out on keeping a sentient being as a slave - or withholding free will. Alternatively, Zero is formally employed as Institute personnel.
- Nicholas goes out and socialize... though Zero's appearance is often the center of attention.
