Ziggs brought his hand to his chin, thinking for a moment. He hadn't really thought the idea out, he had just gone on the spur of the moment. "What if we made a hydraulic artillery cannon that fires bombs?" he thought a bit harder, and some ridiculous ideas came to his mind. "Maybe an explosive fist? Or... WAIT!" he giggled before adding "An automated bomb launcher! Just send it out into the fray while it sprays bombs into enemy ranks!" He laughed and bounced around again, believing this to be his greatest idea ever.

Rumble blinked and tilted his head slightly in amusement. Not only were Ziggs' ideas ridiculous, but they were also terribly inefficient. An automated bomb-launcher? There were better weapons that could be made with far less materials.
"So... A cannon, basically," he snickered. He walked up to Ziggs and patted him on the back.
"Trace back a few steps. Yer thinkin' too wild. We could make a regular cannon that shoots bombs at a long range, but makin' it automated is way out there and unnecessary," the mechanic asserted. "Ya got any other ideas than that, though?"
Post by The Hexplosives Expert on Aug 26, 2013 16:01:42 GMT -5
Ziggs hung his head, disappointed that his favorite idea had been rejected. He quickly got over it though, imagining better ideas. "Well... there's still the manual hydraulic artillery cannon, or..." his face contorted as he thought of more ideas. "what about -this is crazy stupid- a version of your mech that fires my arsenal? I know weapon suits aren't easy to build... but it's the best I could come up with."
Ziggs looked over at Rumble and squinted. "If neither of those work, then do you have any ideas?"
Post by The Mechanized Menace on Aug 26, 2013 18:52:27 GMT -5
Rumble chuckled at the thought of a hydraulic cannon firing bombs. That was an oxymoron by itself. "Hydraulics? Ya realize those deal with water, right? Unless yer thinkin' about bringing the fight t'underwater," he laughed.
Rumble crossed his arms and tapped his foot. "Hmm, well, we could always start simple first then build on from there. I'm just thinkin' about a cannon that c'n shoot bombs super far, so a range increase, basically. But hmm... You kin already throw that mega-bomb of yours super far, right? Hmm."
Post by The Hexplosives Expert on Aug 28, 2013 20:21:15 GMT -5
Frustrated, Ziggs frowned and threw his hands in the air. "Nooooooo!" he said exasperatedly, "Like a pressure cannon!" He paced and calmed down a bit before continuing. "A piston of some sort shoves the bomb out of the cannon and into the distance. It runs on steam or something, and it fires a specialized bomb designed for more accurate flight path."
He pulled a bomb out of his pack and pointed at it. "We can't use explosives because these things explode when hit with enough force. The piston would work, in theory, because the shoving motion is less abrupt."

Rumble giggles at the strange ideas Ziggs had. He turns to Ziggs and grins at him.
"Hehe, what you're thinking about now is basically a more complicated version of a missile launcher. Which is, well, pretty dang easy to make," the mechanic chuckled. He leaned against the table and placed both elbows on the tabletop, smiling and smirking at Ziggs.

Ziggs was getting annoyed by Rumble's smirking and constant rejection of Ziggs's ideas. He turned and glared at Rumble. "Well, mr. weapons genius, do you have any ideas?" he said in an annoyed tone.
Post by The Mechanized Menace on Sept 4, 2013 20:11:20 GMT -5
"An idea? Hmm..."
Rumble stroked his chin in a seemingly clever (but not really) manner and looked down, thinking for a good 10 seconds. When an idea suddenly hit him, he looked back up again and snapped his fingers in a very "Aha!" manner.
"What if we made a triple mortar that fired mega cluster bombs, in order to increase the amount of explosions and spread them throughout the entire enemy field?!"
An outside audience can be heard groaning and facepalming.
Rumble's idea was far more ridiculous than any of Ziggs' already ridiculous enough ideas, combined.

Ziggs slowly shuffled over to Rumble and poked his forehead. "You could just aim a bunch of mortars at the same general area, silly!"
Ziggs took a step back, looked at the floor, and pinched his own forehead, thinking extra hard. Two geniuses in a room together had to come up with something, right? "What..." he began tentatively, raising his head, "what if we made a rapid fire bomb mortar? Like, it self feeds and all like a rapid fire gun, but lobs the bombs way far like a mortar?" The idea was a little far out, but it could work. In Ziggs's head, anyway.

The mechanic scratched his head, thinking about the idea. Unfortunately, two geniuses in a room together could also quarrel and fight about ideas forever.
"Hmm... Worth a shot, but self-feedin' a mortar ain't anywhere as easy as self-feedin' a gun. Plus, mortar bombs are way more costly than tiny puny gun bullets. Where are ya gonna store the bombs fer the self-feedin'?"

"Er," Ziggs pondered for a moment, thinking of ways to load a gun of this kind. "Perhaps a pneumatic loading device..." He slowly began to draw shapes in the air, giving the idea serious thought. "A tower holds the bombs in place, preferably with a tunnel rather than a basket to avoid jamming. Operator A fires the cannon with whatever propulsion system we settle on," he glanced at Rumble "likely pneumatic, as nothing else seems exactly viable for rapid fire. Aaaanyway, operator B presses a button and a pneumatic thingy pushes a bomb into the firing mechanism and it's ready to fire again." He thought some more, sorting out the possible downsides. "It's not exactly portable, is it? It would likely be something used in battleline warfare, not sneaky stuff..."
Ziggs turned to face Rumble, hoping for approval of the idea.
Post by The Mechanized Menace on Sept 16, 2013 21:17:59 GMT -5
"A tower? A tunnel? What happens if the enemy manages to destroy the tower or collapse the tunnel? It's so risky for a weapon that isn't even portable!" the mechanic shouted. "Hell, y'could do way more for way less materials with regular cannons, or even a regular machine gun! And those fire wimpy tiny bullets, but at least they're portable and they're a lot cheaper than building a tower and a tunnel for a single weapon!"
The exasperated yordle paced back and forth in the room angrily. He turned towards Ziggs and waved his hands in the air in a very irked manner.
"Ach! We'll never come up with an idea at this rate since we keep rejectin' everything we say! Everything we come up with is either too damn inefficient or too damn expensive!" Rumble yelled.
Post by The Hexplosives Expert on Sept 28, 2013 22:49:05 GMT -5
"Maybe we're looking at this wrong..." Ziggs said calmly. They needed a great idea. Ziggs wasn't going to leave until they had one. After a bit of pacing, his face lit up yet again and excitedly he said, "What if instead of brute force, we used trickery? A long range fireworks launcher could be used to make the enemy think that we're celebrating and letting our guard down, then pointed at the enemy for incendiary bombing!"
Post by The Mechanized Menace on Oct 8, 2013 15:24:52 GMT -5
"That's..."
Rumble raised his finger, about to point at Ziggs and ridicule him about how stupid the idea sounded. Fireworks? What happened to the real war machines, like guns and flamethrowers and mega bombs? However, the mechanic contemplated for a few seconds about the strange idea. The coolest weapons aren't the most logical, and maybe the fireworks idea could actually work. Yes! The fireworks would bring plenty of distraction, probably because the enemy would think how stupid they are upon first sight, but he and Ziggs could certainly modify the fireworks to be used as actual, dangerous weapons.
"...actually an ingenious idea. Yes! Let's do it!"

"Of course it is!" Ziggs giddily leapt forward and shook Rumble's hand. He was incredibly excited that they'd get to do something together, and his speech began to blend together. "Okaysofirstwe'regoingtoneedtogetintoyourworkspaceandbuildthingsandahaheheheheee! Thank you!"
Ziggs, realizing what he was doing, slowly calmed down and stopped shaking Rumble's hand. "Sorry, I, uh, get excited sometimes.." he muttered sheepishly.
