Rumble simply stared at Ziggs as he shook hands (or rather, as Ziggs frantically oscillated his hand up and down) with his guest. Scraps, who was still lying on top of the mechanic's mohawk, swiped a paw at the hexplosives expert, not so hard though as to make the yordle bleed.
"Hehe, bad kitty," Rumble chuckled as he pet his cat. He turned his attention back to Ziggs and replied, "Yeah, I can tell. Couldn't understand a syllable of what you were gibbering over there," he smirked. "It's a wonder Teemo likes you," he mumbled under his breath. The mechanic put his hands in his pockets and glanced around for a moment.

((Is orange an okay dialogue color?))
"Ah, yes, I was just asking where your workstation is..." Ziggs looked around and twiddled his thumbs absentmindedly, taking in all the stuff he hadn't noticed. The gadgets scattered around were fascinating to him, and he marveled at the inventive prowess Rumble had.
"Quite the place you've got here." he mumbled, before snapping back to attention and blurting "Yes! The workstation, where is it?"
Post by The Mechanized Menace on Oct 26, 2013 13:41:40 GMT -5
((Not really, too bright.))
If by "inventive prowess," Ziggs was talking about the huge mess of scraps and gears on the floor that didn't look impressive at all, then yes, it was certainly something to marvel at... in a bad way.
"Uh, you're standing right in it," Rumble chuckled. "It's this great big room when ya enter my workshop for the first time!"
Post by The Hexplosives Expert on Oct 27, 2013 22:14:28 GMT -5
Ziggs clapped his hands together once, smiling. "Well then, let's get right to work!" he said cheerfully.
Ziggs began pulling out various chemicals and powders before a look of concern crossed his face. Given the nature of what they were doing, there was going to be at least one explosion, likely more. Looking over to Rumble, he said "Would you prefer to work outside? To avoid... you know..." he made a large arcing motion with his hands.
Post by The Mechanized Menace on Nov 2, 2013 17:10:55 GMT -5
"Pfft, too much effort. I always work inside, bringing all the materials from the workshop to outside, and then back again... Way too much of a hassle, and the tables are too heavy to move. We can test outside once we're done building the bomb, though!"
Of course, Rumble didn't mention the part where almost every explosive he's worked with blows up in his face. Nonetheless, he was still adamant about staying inside the workshop.
"'Sides, this workshop is pretty sturdy, anyways. It'll hold even if somethin' blows up inside."

"Well, it's your lab, after all." said Ziggs, before continuing to carefully unload materials. As he did, he muttered various facts about the chemicals and powders. "Highly flammable, explodes under pressure... don't mix with water..." Eventually, his bag was emptied of its contents. Ziggs stood upright and faced Rumble. "Before I begin with the payload, I'll need to know an estimated size of the cannon, both in height and width."
Post by The Mechanized Menace on Nov 17, 2013 16:50:44 GMT -5
"Size? Hmm... The bore can be 10 inches wide, while the cannon can have a length of 8 feet. It should be big enough to fit the fireworks and your bombs in, I think."
Rumble takes out his toolbox and starts sorting out all the parts and tools on the workbench. He turns towards Ziggs and smirks at him, though he misses the yordle's muttering about flammable, explosive materials.

Ziggs smiled and nodded his head before turning to the work area. "Lessee here..." he mumbled, "If we want something colorful and incendiary, we'd need... this..." he pulled up a sealed beaker of pink liquid, "and this." he pulled out a sealed pouch that was about the size of his hand. He then produced a small metal bowl from amongst the crowd of chemicals.
Ziggs unsealed the beaker and poured a few drops of the pink liquid into the bowl. He resealed the liquid and set it aside, then opened the pouch and brought out a pinch of red powder. He carefully dropped the powder into the liquid and stared intently at it. The Powder dissolved into the liquid, which began to bubble and turn black. "Ah, CRUD!" shouted Ziggs. He placed the pouch back on the table, then pulled a plastic bag from his belt. He placed the bag around the bowl and waited.
After a few seconds, a loud "BLOOP!" was heard, and the bag inflated a little. Ziggs brought the bag up, being careful to keep it sealed, and ran over to the door, where he let the gas in the bag escape. Ziggs ducked back inside, a displeased look on his face. "Let's hope no birds fly over here for a few minutes," he said nervously to himself, "or they're going to have a really bad day."

((To the guy who's interested in my role: Message me if you wanna talk about this, because even though I'd still prefer to keep the role, I feel like a jerk posting one day before the three week cutoff, and you probably have more time than I do roleplaying. Finals stuff and college apps craze hit me the past few weeks.))
"Siiiiigh. As if I needed more things to clean," Rumble mutters, glancing around the messes of scrap scattered throughout his workshop floor. He glances back at Ziggs and smiles, indicating that he was only joking. "Don't fret over too much, worse things have happened in this rusty place," he chuckled. The mechanic looked over the bowl to examine the used-to-be pink liquid.
"Trying to get a combustion reaction working? I don't recall 'em involving colorful liquid and colorful powder, heheh."
Post by The Hexplosives Expert on Dec 20, 2013 0:33:08 GMT -5
Ziggs looked over to Rumble and grinned. "Trust me," he said confidently, "there's a lot more to combustion and explosions than you'd think." He picked up a vial of silver fluid, uncorked it, and sniffed it. "It's an art of sorts, you might say." He poured a few drops of the fluid into the noxious mixture, which began burning green in the bowl. "Alchemy, but more destructive, and more beautiful." His voice was smooth and almost mysterious, unlike his usual tone. He gazed in wonder at the bright, hot flames before grabbing some water and dousing the mixture. He set the chemicals he had used aside and turned to Rumble once again, saying "Color before explosions this time. Gotta make it look pretty!"

Rumble raised an eyebrow at Ziggs, half amused and half insulted by his remarks. He walked over to the table and picked up Ziggs' silver vial to examine it.
"Barium chloride. Hmm." He set the vial down and paced back and forth before glancing at the other yordle shrugging. "Heh, and here I thought you were the type to blow stuff up and get it over with," he chuckled. "That's how I roll anyways. If it blows up on the enemy and it hurts, it works! Sweet and simple."
He walked back to the hexplosives expert and examined the more colorful materials. "Dunno where you got all this stuff from, though. As far as I'm concerned, color's determined by the chemical makeup, not by the actual color of the chemical itself. Didja dye these powders and liquids or somethin'?"
Post by The Hexplosives Expert on Dec 31, 2013 1:31:02 GMT -5
A slightly confused look crossed Ziggs's face. "What, you don't paint your materials to identify them?" he asked. His grin almost immediately crept back onto his face and he elbowed Rumble in the stomach, saying "Kidding! Kidding! But yes, I do dye my chemicals. It makes for faster identification, which means faster mixing, faster reactions, and faster explosions!"
Post by The Mechanized Menace on Jan 2, 2014 23:22:36 GMT -5
Rumble bent over and let out a small, painful squeak, for Ziggs had actually elbowed him quite hard. He staggered backwards for a few steps, but smiled and chuckled afterwards as an attempt to hide his pain.
"H-heh, I just label my chemicals in jars," Rumble stated in an unnaturally high voice. "But whatever floats your boat, I guess."
Post by The Hexplosives Expert on Jan 15, 2014 22:36:43 GMT -5
Ziggs cocked hs head to the left slightly, unaware that Rumble was bent over because of the elbow. "You okay, buddy?" he asked, concerned. But before Rumble could respond, Ziggs waved his hand, saying "Aaaahhh, I'm sure it's nothin'. Now I know watching explosions and toxic gas reactions is fun and all, but dont'cha have a cannon to construct?"
Post by The Mechanized Menace on Jan 15, 2014 23:38:09 GMT -5
"Yeah, I do... Oof..."
Rumble hobbled over to his work table and got out a blank blueprint sheet and some utensils. He started drawing out the cannon and some lines that indicated how long each part of the cannon was going to be. The bore would be 10 inches wide and the cannon would be 8 feet long, but Ziggs could easily look over Rumble's shoulder at the blueprint in case the hexplosive expert would have any objections to the cannon's dimensions.
