Ziggs walked over two Rumble's drawing table and glanced over Rumble's shoulder, mumbling to himself about the thickness of the shell and how fireworks didn't need shells but incendiary bombs did. Finally, he gave a shrug of approval and walked back over to the table. The flame had died out, but Ziggs still poured some water into the bowl. The pasty was finished reacting, allowing Ziggs to take it to the nearest waste bin and plop it in, scraping out the last of it with a towel. He then pulled out some more substances and began examining them, determining what would generate the biggest and hottest bang. He finally settled on two liquids, one green and one yellow, and set them aside. He uncorked the green fluid and poured a few drops into the bowl, then picked up the yellow liquid's container. He stopped to refasten his goggles, just to make sure he didn't melt his eyes out or anything.
"Fire in the hole!" shouted Ziggs, before uncorking the yellow liquid and pouring a bit into the bowl. The effects were immediate. With a loud POP, a small cloud of fire flew up from the bowl, shaking the table and almost knocking over a bag of silver powder. A constant heat came from the bowl during the reaction. Ziggs grinned wide as ever, happy to see his experiment be such a success.

Rumble continued drawing out the blueprint as Ziggs was pouring his chemicals into the bowl. The blue-furred yordle finished drawing out the basic outline when Ziggs' experiment fired the cork out of the bowl. The mechanic remained unshaken, as he was very used to explosive experiments that he conducted himself in the past. Rumble turned around and smirked at the hexsplosive expert, raising his goggles and nodding once.
"Hah, glad to see we're finally getting somewhere!" he grinned. "Sounds like it could pack a bigger bang, if we were to scale it to a proper incendiary bomb size," he chuckled.

Ziggs grinned, pleased that Rumble enjoyed the outcome of the concoction. "Of course!" he said enthusiastically, "The bang is always beigger in the real thing." He paused for a moment and scratched his chin, before saying "Well isn't the real deal better in any situation?"

Rumble shrugged and scratched the back of his head. "Well, most things are. I certainly wouldn't want a full-scale explosion in my own workshop, heh." Scraps mewed in agreement and pawed at the yordle's ears a bit.
The mechanic smirked at his friend and raised an eyebrow. "But I'm sure you wouldn't mind full-scale explosions in your own workshop, eh?"

Ziggs smiled and chuckled before responding with "Oh, of course not! My lab was specifically designed for various explosives testing. I can also use it as a classroom for the rare student that studies my craft." He frowned a bit at the end, saddened over his lack of students. "I wish more people could enjoy explosions as much as I do..."
His depression was short-lived, however, and he returned to the task at hand.
((Should we do a skip to a point where we've completed both parts of the weapon?))

((Sure.))
"Hah! Well, I'm sure there's a special snowflake out there with the same interests as you," Rumble grinned. He turned back to his work table and began to construct the cannon.
-Three hours later-
After lots of hard work, several short conversations with Ziggs, and one break, the mechanic wiped the sweat of his forehead as he proudly eyed the completed cannon. The 10-foot long fireworks cannon sat on the floor of the yordle's workshop, with wheels supporting the base of the machine.
"Well, I'm done with my part, Ziggs," Rumble said. "How about you?"
