June 17th, 23 CLE
Kayle's boots struck against the familiar stone floor of the Institute. She was visiting an Institute regular, someone whom she hadn't really got a chance to speak with. Kayle wasn't one for small talk, but she actually had a reason with speaking with this person. The events in Demacia concerned her.. and she blamed herself for a lot of it... Kayle stopped in front of his door and sighed, removing her helmet and knocking three times before awaiting an answer.

Daichi happened to be in that day, asleep in his room. He usually would stir to the morning rays of light that pierced through the curtains of his room. However, he'd forgotten his room was windowless. The summoner slept in. He stirred to the sound of knocking. Once, twice, three times. He awoke quickly.
"J...Just a second!" He realized he'd slept in. Who could possibly need him now. He rarely had visitations. Especially considering how often he actually was in his quarters now. He rushed to dress, and a minute later reached the door. Dressed in summoner attire. He grasped the handle and pulled the door inwards only to be dumbfounded by who was at his door.
Silence followed, then he spoke his mind.
"...You're...not here because I did something? Right?" Daichi seemed a little overly concerned, it was unusual to see someone like the Judicator on his door step. He quickly composed himself. Stripping the surprise from his face.

Kayle couldn't help but smile lightly when he spoke to her. "No, I am not here to strike you down." The Judicator replied, rolling her shoulders forward slightly. Her blade wasn't even by her side. "I came here to talk... about Demacia." Kayle then said, a tinge of frustration coating Kayle's voice ever so lightly.

A sigh relief emitted from the young summoner. "Very well..." He still felt a burden from Demacia carried within him even now, wounds and death. He kept a surprisingly passive outlook. Death wasn't new to him, physical injury was. "Please...make yourself comfortable." He beckoned her into his plainly furnished room.
When the two entered, he closed the door and activated the silence wards. There would be no eaves dropping. He moved to a wooden chair and sat upon it.
"You woke me up. I hadn't expected company. Forgive me for not being more hospitable. Tell me. What did you need to know about Demacia?"

Kayle nodded and entered the room, she looked around, it wasn't anything fancy. When she saw him take a seat, so did she across from him. Her face was expressionless, however the deep pools of her sapphire eyes told a story of extreme regret.
When he asked her what she needed to know, she frowned. She didn't know if he even knew the answer, but she wanted to know...

The Ionian stood and approached a simple desk. Out of one of the drawers he drew a report from it. He kept one on hand for his own personal use, leading the group meant he should create a report for his own reference in the event it was ever needed for the Institute. However, he did have other uses for it that no one else needed to know about except for Hamamoto and his benefactors.
He moved to The Judicator and handed her over it. "You want the fourth page. All of that information is there, ranging from confirmed losses to those estimated to have perished or gone missing." His tone was flat. "Take your time..."

Kayle watched with trained eyes as the summoner moved to a desk and drew out a file. A tinge of anger slid it's way through the angel's body, causing her to clench her fists for a moment. If she hadn't have been so selfish... Kayle sighed when the file was handed to her; quickly flipping to the page he told her.
A scowl quickly formed across her face as she sat in silence, reading over the losses. Finally, she shut the folder and tossed it onto the floor. The Judicator looked up at the ceiling for a long moment.
The people of this realm needed her, and she was too absorbed in her own issues to pay attention to them...

"...It's not your fault." He took the documentation from her carefully. "No one is blaming you or will blame you." His eyes fell upon the report. It was all he could offer her. Everyone was hurting over this, save for maybe Noxus. Noxus was prepared so that when they came for the Isles, the Isles would regret their decision. Even so, Daichi felt loss over it. Death on such a scale was never good, senseless. He was reminded of the war. She wasn't present for that either.
"...Do you need a moment? If...you wish I can leave."

"I blame me." Kayle replied flatly, looking back from the ceiling to him, her face expressionless once more. "And in the grand scheme of things, that is all that really matters." Her eyes fell on the document once more before she sighed and rubbed her head. "No, I do not need a moment." She then said, looking back to him once more.
Kayle shook her head and frowned once more, her eyes drifting down to her armor for a long moment..

"When I was young. Noxus invaded Ionia. There was a lot of death by the hands of Noxus and Zaun. People like Singed and Warwick still walk freely after they committed horrible, horrible deeds. This Institute and most of its champions did nothing to assist Ionia except for those who were directly affiliated with the country." He paused and deposited the document back where it belonged, in his dresser.
"You weren't involved then and were here at the Institute of War. What makes this massacre any different?" Daichi questioned. "You shouldn't blame yourself for what the undead wrought. I'm sorry you weren't there too but there are better things to do than to mope about the past and what cannot be helped."

"I am not moping." Kayle said, looking back up from her armor and frowning. "I do not allow sadness to enter me." Kayle stood up and walked over to a mirror. Her wings stretched out for a moment before folding back against her back. Kayle's on reflection looked directly back at her, sapphire eyes met sapphire eyes. "No." She said, her voice just barely above a whisper as her own reflection mimicked her.
"My heart may grieve, but the anguish will not consume me. I will not-... cannot allow it." Kayle turned back to him, her face expressionless as always, however her eyes... the deep recesses of her deep, sapphire eyes burned with hot determination, with resolve. "I cannot[/b] allow it."

"Then don't." Daichi said as he strode back to the bed and took a seat upon it, eyes locked upon the Judicator's backside. She turned and matched eyes with him. Considering what had happened, Daichi's expression wasn't so mournful. Perhaps he'd already dealt with the grief or had his closure. Perhaps he simply didn't care enough.
"I don't know what else you'd like me to say to you Kayle. What happened was awful, it hurts us all deeply. I know I'm personally going to have a few emotional and physical scars from this."

"You do not have to say anything more to me." Kayle replied, her tone once more even. The Judictaor turned and looked back in the mirror, matching her own gaze once more. "You do not have to say anything more to me." She stood there for a moment before finally returning to her seat, picking up her helmet and resting it in her lap.
"Have the damned attacked anywhere else?"

"I see..." Kayle said, standing up and stretching. "I would like to look more into this.... would you wish to join me? I admit, I have not been far outside of the Institute, and having someone more familiar with this world would aid me greatly." She then said, replacing her helmet on her head.
