Hello Maelstrom,
It’s come to my attention that one of the biggest causes of conflict that we’ve had in our maelstrom skype chat group has been discussion regarding the game itself. While I understand that it’s largely the medium through which we’ve come together as a group, it also tends to be very frustrating, and that frustration makes its way into our chat.
Everyone knows that the game has its highs and lows, but it’s often the case that by venting that frustration into the chat room, there is a significant chance that you insult or frustrate others whether intentionally or not. I want to give people an out when these kinds of topics come up: from this point forward, it should be known that we do not want game negativity making its way into the official Maelstrom Skype chats.
The moderators and I will be monitoring the chats for any such discussion and asking them to stop before the topic gets out of hand. Should you be bothered by the vein of commentary that someone is taking, make no other inflammatory remarks and point to this thread while asking them to take the discussion to a private chat. If they continue to talk past the request, contact any chat moderator or admin and we will enforce the rule.
I don’t want anyone to ever feel alienated by their degree of skill, ranking, or any other gaming metric while part of this community.
