The Shojin Monastery is home to peaceful monks that have long practiced the martial arts of inner healing. Through meditation the monks are capable of rejuvenating from injuries at a heightened rate. Some of these priests can also display acts of incredible willpower, such as suffering through agonizing amounts of pain for weeks without crying out. Lee Sin, the Blind Monk, resides within the monastery, having journeyed there years ago in hopes of obtaining atonement for past mistakes.
Lee Sin sat in a meditative pose in the main courtyard, Flames danced across his skin, but he didn't say a word. Lee Sin seemed to almost control the flames, he could extinguish one part of his body, yet leave the rest in flames. The man seemed to almost play with the flames, no pain was shown on his face.

Syndra hummed to herself as she studied the monk known as Lee Sin through another of her dark orbs. The Dark Sovereign seemed to ave sent out many of her scrying orbs through Ionia to see what each of the island state's champions were up to. And thus far, she was not entertained.
But as she watched the blind monk do his meditation, she wondered what kind of will... or power was behind the monk's ability to ignite himself and show no pain. Surely, through observation she would learn something.

Two other monks walked in front of Lee Sin as he meditated, still burning intensely. They carried a large bucket of water to the burning monk and placed it in front of him, they then simply walked away. Lee Sin almost seemed to look at the bucket, a deep frown spread across his face as he focused on the water.
However the monk didn't move a muscle, he sat there burning with an almsot straight face. One would see sweat on his forehead had it not been for the fire evaporating it so quickly. Thoughts shot through his mind to grab the water and put himself out, but he fought back. He numbed the pain going through his body by weakening his nerve endings for the time being. This would go on for hours, just to train himself to feel no pain should the need arise.
There was no clear reason why the Ionian Sky Pirate would make her way into the temple. But here she was. Her expression passive hiding the constant conflict occurring within her. Perhaps she sought out repentance? Something to ease her inner torment as the demons of recent history plagued her.
She begun to question her freedom. Her purpose. Everything was amiss with chaos internally causing her to eventually find this place. The traveler wandered through the temple as much as she might without being stopped by the monks that resided here. She showed an odd sense of respect for them, and their wisdom though she'd likely not admit it outside of the temple walls. Her small 5'3 frame carried with it many internal and external scars, dressed in faded and torn clothing, patched up repeatedly to keep it useable. Her long, ebony hair was braided back reaching down to her feet easily with striking, ethereal violet orbs gazing about her.
Her movements were liquid in motion, trained and refined to near perfection. Whatever she had before Talon got a hold of her, had been amplified by his rigorous teachings. The difference between her previous self and current was quite obvious. Upon seeing Lee, she would slow and watch quietly with her arms folding about her shoulders to caress herself. The idea of being on fire pained her to even think about, but seeing his resilience caused her to gaze in awe at him.

Lee Sin sensed something, a visitor to the monastery? The Shojin Monastery was located in a very secluded portion of the Ionian jungles, surrounded by thick vegetation. It was not until Lee Sin's public display that the monastery had begun to receive a notable amount of visitors, most drawn to it to learn the power the monks possessed. Others sought it for nothing but the monk's teachings in inner peace and atonement, a noble cause.
Chaotic energy only noticeable by senior monks and Lee Sin himself seemed to seep out of this newcomer. It made the monks watchful, uneased by the distress that was invisible to the average man. This newcomer was to be welcomed and the monks always gave visitors the benefit of the doubt when they first enter the monastery.
Lee Sin began examining the subject near him, although he gave no sign of it. Fire still engulfed his body, no burn marks appeared on his skin or his clothing, he was in a state of strong focus. In this state he could take massive amounts of punishment while still being able to think straight and asses his next action. The newcomers small stature was the second characteristic Lee Sin noted, the first being the aura of energy surrounding her as it did with all creatures. He knew not to judge someone by their physical appearance, he had met many Yordles who could overpower human men with ease.
Lee Sin felt her gaze fall upon him, a feeling he had grown used to due to his champion status. He preformed a simple footstep, slightly harder than the rest, however it caused a rush of air that was easily detected around him. The flames flickered before once again kindling to full strength. He spoke in a calm tone, his pain undetectable. "Greetings visitor, if I may ask, what brings you to this humble monk's monastery?"
Syndra may have heard rumor on the wind of a group of Sky Pirates that lived relatively peacefully in the skies of Ionia. Peacefully generally in the sense they weren't typically out robbing from everyone, killing, and being the average band of thugs. They lived in the skies, and rarely ventured to the ground outside of resupplies. Though they were fiercely protective of the air they occupied, and were in that sense quite ruthless. The main group had crashed somewhere in the ocean between Valoran and Ionia nearing a decade ago, and there had been some talk of there being no survivors save for the few that had settled down and lived normal lives.
Here, the one remaining stood from the main group. She was no more than ten when their ship had gone down. She stared quietly at Lee, nearly sitting when he'd speak and disrupt the thought of it.
"Er." Rubbing the back of her head, the young woman looked away feeling a sense of reluctance overwhelm her. She was extremely conflicted by something, and indeed her energies were quite chaotic. "I-I-" Finding it difficult to word what she felt, she'd avert her gaze and sighed, "Sorry, didn't mean to... uh.. interrupt, I guess."

Lee Sin felt the energy around the girl sway even more as she spoke, something was definitely troubling her. He strode confidently over to the sky pirate, still wreathed in bright flames. "Fear not child, you have not interrupted anything, there is something bothering you something that is warping the aura around you. May I ask what it is? I only wish to help."
With those calm words the monk once again stomped but this time the rush of air was enough to put out the flames, his long ponytail swayed from the sudden gust. He wondered what troubled this girl, he was never happy to see anyone in distress of any type and he wanted to help her.
"I-" As he stomped, Sky would jump a bit with startle only to calm as the flames rushed out leaving him seemingly unharmed. She'd tilt her head a bit to one side as she pulled the edge of her lower lip between her teeth to chew upon it ever so slightly.
"My name is M-" Pausing with a growing frown. A long sigh escaped her, "Skylark." Feeling a sense of pain reach through her sharply, "I- I just.. " Those violets averted again as she unraveled her arms from around her and let them fall to her sides loosely, "I.. I feel so lost... " It was becoming increasingly clear that as she lingered, she was growing more anxious. Fear was starting to tug at her heart, and provoke that initial fight or flight mode despite not feeling in danger. She'd become so guarded after spending so much time with Talon.

A look of concern shot across Lee Sin's face when Skylark jumped, and then began chewing her lip, something was running amok inside her mind. As she almost mentioned her name only to replace it with a new one Lee Sin decided his next action. She was getting worse by the second and was obviously quite jumpy. He showed a comforting smile before gesturing to her. "Come, let us go inside and have a soothing cup of tea, there is no need to be so anxious. Everyone is welcome here, you are safe and we do have wonderful hospitality so I'm told."
Lee Sin began a walk towards one of the buildings, glancing over his shoulder to see if the sky pirate would follow him indoors.
Sky was hesitant at best. She'd shift from foot to foot, then wearily follow after. She had sought this place out, why was she so nervous? The rules repeated themselves in her mind. Things she was told never to say, or do. Things that would result in her death. Could she really talk about any of this stuff? Her fingers curled against the obi that held the torn up kimono against her frame, flicking her gaze about as uncertain steps carried her forward behind Lee.
"Erm... What's your name?" She asked. She didn't know Champions by appearance, only rumored names and titles.

Lee Sin felt the uneven footsteps of Skylard, obviously she did not trust him, not something he blamed her for. He continued to walk towards the building with the girl following him, he spoke over his shoulder to her at her question. "I am Lee Sin, nice to meet you Skylark."
They would reach the building and enter it, amazingly a small table was already set and a single pillow sat next to it on the floor. On the table was two hot cups of tea, steam still flowing from the hot liquid. Lee Sin gestured for Skylark to take a seat on the pillow, he himself would sit down on the floor on the opposite side of the table when she had taken her spot. "Feel free to inform me if the tea isn't up to standards, we would take no offense to it. Now, what is it that troubles you? We are here to help those who seek peace and enlightenment." He said in a soothing tone.
Sky followed him into the building with a hesitant look around. It seemed so calm and serene, but even here, even a place she had heard stories about as a child, she couldn't quite find that rest inside her. She nearly sat on her knees, but shifted position so she was sitting cross-legged atop the pillow when she finally convinced herself she'd be alright sitting.
"Lee Sin?" She questioned again, eyebrows rising quickly, "As in... the Champion?" Sky asked, ever curious about the man that was now seated across from her. She didn't touch the tea at first, watching him closely before she'd lift her own and sniffs it. "Erm.." Setting it down nervously, "..thanks..." Not that she didn't like it, but she didn't fully trust it. She felt an unease settle in her gut as her gaze flicked about.

Lee Sin kept the polite smile on his face even as Skylark rejected the tea, he could sense her distrust as clear as a dog smelled food. He gave a small nodd to her as she asked her question. "Yes indeed I am Lee Sin, the blind monk within the League, but here I am just another monk, I rather like it this way." He responded
Her waves of anxiety and fear bombarded him repeatedly, he felt her fear as if it where his own, he had become incredibly attuned to people at this point. However his face showed no sign of his knowledge, he wanted to stay neutral and approach this one cautiously. He reached down lifting the cup and taking a small sip from it before placing it back down on the table. "I..." He tried to speak.
Lee Sin took a deep breathe before fully speaking. "Why do you not trust me?" He asked innocently.
Sky watched him lift his glass and sip from it, looking down at her own briefly. Live or die? She'd lift it to not be rude, and took a quick sip before setting it down so softly it almost seemed like she were afraid to let it make a noise. Yet it wasn't particularly the case. It was more she simply needed it to be, as if she had been fine tuned to prefer silence over the sounds of movements. Clicking, ticking, whatever. The area seemed quiet, and it felt odd to break it.
"Ah... right." Scratching at her cheek uncomfortably. "I can't.." She muttered in reply to his question, "It's.. complicated."
